Chapter 900 No Fight, No Friendship
This was their first meeting. Thinking back to the wild and fierce Isabella from before, Leon couldn't help but smile.
He never imagined that a few years down the line, he'd fall for Isabella.
Leon and Isabella's next close encounter happened several years later. By then, Susan had started her own accounting firm, and Isabella had left her job at Prosperity Group to join Susan's team.
Leon remembered that day when he tagged along with Seb to find Susan. Seb and Susan were holed up in a room for ages, and there were some pretty weird noises coming from inside.
In the big office, Leon sat on a chair while Isabella and Maria worked nearby.
Leon was used to this kind of thing. He sat there like a statue, not moving a muscle, his face blank.
When another faint scream from Susan slipped through the door, Maria's face turned red, and she quickly made up an excuse to leave.
Now, it was just Leon and Isabella in the office.
Isabella really wanted to curse. 'Damn it, Susan, can't you and Seb make love at home?'
The air was a bit tense.
Then, Isabella awkwardly stood up and said with a smile, "Mr. Johnson, let me get you a cup of coffee!"
Before Leon could say no, Isabella turned and headed to the break room.
Making coffee was just an excuse; she needed a few minutes to hide. Hopefully, by then, Seb and Susan would be done.
Speaking of Leon, even though she had a grudge against him a few years ago, she had to admit he was a decent guy. Even though she had been unreasonable to him that day, Leon didn't hold it against her. Just for that, Isabella admired him; at least he wasn't petty.
After stalling in the break room for a few minutes, Isabella finally came out with a cup of coffee.
She walked up to Leon with the coffee and said with a smile, "Mr. Johnson, please drink some coffee!"
"Thanks, but I don't drink coffee," Leon said, his face still blank.
Hearing this, Isabella really wanted to curse. Why didn't he say so earlier? Now that she had brought the coffee over, he said he didn't drink it.
Isabella shrugged and tried to keep calm.
Just as she was about to turn and leave, another strange noise came from the room, followed by Susan's panting.
Isabella's face turned red.
Just as she was about to turn around with the coffee, she slipped and almost fell, trying to keep her balance. But the coffee in her hand spilled out.
The coffee splashed right onto Leon's pants.
Isabella gasped and wanted to fix the situation, but it was too late. The brown liquid had already soaked Leon's beige pants.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to," Isabella said, frowning at Leon's suddenly changed expression.
Even though she didn't like him, she really didn't do it on purpose.
"What are you doing?" Leon stood there, looking completely lost.
Isabella quickly grabbed a rag and reached out to wipe the stain on Leon's pants. But when she saw where the stain was, she turned her face away in embarrassment because the coffee had spilled right around his private area.
It was already awkward enough, and now this. Isabella was really at a loss.
"I'll do it myself," Leon said, grabbing the rag from Isabella's hand and bending down to wipe the brown liquid off his pants.
Isabella stood awkwardly to the side, feeling very embarrassed.
Finally, Leon managed to wipe off most of the brown liquid, but his pants were probably ruined. He would have to make do for now.
Isabella kindly took the rag from Leon's hand and was about to say something when Leon interrupted her, "It's been a few years, and you're already thirty, right? How can you still be so clumsy and immature?"
Leon was usually a very gentlemanly person, but whenever he encountered Isabella, his gentlemanly demeanor vanished because the situations she caused really drove him crazy.
Isabella had a fiery temper. She had kindly made him a cup of coffee, and although she had dirtied his pants, it wasn't on purpose, and she had already apologized. How could he be so rude and scold her?
The next moment, Isabella retorted, "You're not young either, right? Haven't you made any progress in these years? You always speak so harshly and have no manners."
Hearing this, Leon became even angrier but suppressed his temper and said slowly, "I've never seen such a rude woman like you."
"I've never seen such a barbaric man like you either," Isabella said, turning and heading to the break room, not wanting to say another word to Leon.
After a while, Isabella seemed to hear Susan and Seb's voices, and then there was no more noise.
The next day at lunch, Isabella and Susan were eating together.
Isabella looked at Susan and asked, "Did Leon complain to you or Seb?"
"Complain about what?" Susan asked, frowning.
"Complain that I dirtied his pants," Isabella said.
"You dirtied his pants? What happened? He didn't say a word," Susan said, puzzled.
Hearing this, Isabella was surprised. She didn't expect that annoying Leon didn't badmouth her. But thinking about it, it made sense. Seb was his boss, and Susan was about to become Seb's wife, and she was Susan's best friend. He wouldn't go around talking about it.
Later, Isabella told Susan about making coffee for Leon and accidentally dirtying his pants.
After hearing Isabella's story, Susan laughed and said, "You are a bit clumsy."
"Why are you taking his side?" Isabella said angrily, hearing Susan speak for Leon.
Susan laughed and said, "I'm just stating the facts. You went to make Leon coffee without asking him, and you got mad because of his refusal. As far as I know, Leon really doesn't drink coffee. I think he's allergic to it."
