Chapter 181 Precautions

The next day, Susan went to work with dark circles under her eyes.

"Susan, didn't sleep well last night? Those dark circles are serious," Morgan said, sliding over to Susan on her swivel chair during a break.

Susan was still immersed in yesterday's nightmare and kept getting distracted at work.

Hearing Morgan's words, Susan quickly touched her face and forced a smile. "I had insomnia last night."

"You don't even have a boyfriend, how could you have insomnia?" Morgan teased with a laugh.

"I'm losing sleep because I'm worried about not having a boyfriend, okay?" Susan could only joke along with her.

At this point, Morgan propped her chin and glanced at the ceiling, then looked around at the busy colleagues before leaning closer to Susan and whispering, "Mr. Anderson seems very attentive to you. He visits you every now and then or sends you things. I'm sure he has a thing for you!"

George had indeed picked up Susan twice at the company entrance when he came to Lindell Harbor and had sent some local specialties a few times.

Hearing this, Susan quickly clarified, "He just happens to be in Lindell Harbor for business. We're from the same city, after all."

Morgan rolled her eyes. "There are countless people from Maple Valley coming to Lindell Harbor, but I've never seen Mr. Anderson take care of anyone like this!"

"Tease me all you want, but don't drag Mr. Anderson into it. It's not good to cause misunderstandings that might affect his future marriage," Susan said with a smile.

Then, Morgan lowered her voice even more, "Ms. Green is very fond of Mr. Anderson. She's been jealous of you lately, so be careful!"

Hearing this, Susan was stunned!

"Are you saying Ms. Green has a thing for Mr. Anderson?" Susan asked in surprise.

Jessica was a beautiful and successful woman. Although she hadn't been at Jessica Accounting Firm for long, Susan knew many men were chasing after her, but Jessica didn't seem interested in any of them.

Susan thought Jessica had high standards and wasn't interested in ordinary people. Could it be that Jessica liked George?

"Everyone at the accounting firm can see it, but you didn't notice at all? You're too focused on work and don't pay attention to what's happening around you," Morgan mocked.

Susan thought for a moment and realized that Jessica did act a bit differently every time she saw George.

She thought Jessica and George were just old friends, but Jessica had a crush on George, who definitely didn't feel the same.

At this moment, Susan felt a bit annoyed.

Unknowingly, she seemed to have offended her boss again. Jessica, being so smart, must have noticed George's interest in her.

Thinking about it made Susan feel depressed. Now, Jessica was her boss, and she had to face her every day, while Jessica had a crush on George.

Why were relationships so complicated? She had been unlucky with work for the past few years, constantly clashing with her bosses.

Morgan then added, "A couple of years ago, Ms. Green and Mr. Anderson were very close. Mr. Anderson would come to Lindell Harbor to see Ms. Green every now and then. Ms. Green was glowing back then, but unfortunately, it didn't last long. After a month or two, Mr. Anderson almost never came again, and Ms. Green was down for quite a while!"

"So, am I going to become Ms. Green's imaginary rival?" Susan said, feeling a bit frustrated.

Morgan comforted Susan, "Don't worry, Ms. Green is broad-minded and not the petty type. Otherwise, she wouldn't be able to manage such a big firm. Just do your job well. But you have to seize the opportunity. If you like Mr. Anderson, don't hold back and be happy with him. After all, he's a wealthy man. If you can win him over, you won't have to worry about food and clothing and won't have to work hard anymore. If you're not interested in him, then stay away to avoid any trouble!"

After hearing Morgan's words, Susan nodded.

She was already avoiding him, but she couldn't completely cut ties with George, could she?

At this moment, Jessica came back with her briefcase.

Seeing Jessica, Susan quickly stood up. "Ms. Green?"

"What's up?" Jessica paused and looked at Susan in surprise.

"Oh, it's like this. The lease on my current place is up, and I want to move into the company's dormitory," Susan said with a smile.

This was a decision Susan had made after thinking about it all night. Jessica Accounting Firm provided dormitories for employees who lived far away, with four people per room and a private bathroom. The environment was quite nice.

When Susan got this job, she had already rented her current place and paid a year's rent, so she didn't move into the dormitory.

After what happened last night, Susan suddenly felt scared, afraid that Seb would come to bother her again. She couldn't handle it alone.

If she moved into the dormitory, with four people in a room, Seb probably wouldn't dare to cause trouble.

So, Susan planned to report to Jessica this morning and move in after work. She had already packed her simple belongings last night.

Hearing this, Jessica smiled, "Sure, there are still several beds available in the dormitory. You can move in anytime."

"Thank you, Ms. Green." Susan smiled gratefully upon hearing Jessica's approval.

"No need to thank me. It's a benefit provided by the company. Get back to work," Jessica said and then turned to her office.

After Jessica left, Susan sat back in her chair.

Morgan quickly came over, laughing. "Susan, you're going to live with us?"

"Yes," Susan said with a smile.

"That's great! Mr. Anderson has given you so many local specialties, I can finally enjoy them too." Morgan laughed heartily.

"If you get any fatter, you won't be able to get married," Susan teased.

Morgan looked down at her chubby figure and pouted. "You really don't know how to chat." With that, she turned back to work.

Susan shook her head and smiled.

After work that day, Susan hurried back to her rented apartment. She grabbed her luggage and quickly took a cab to the dormitory.

Although the dormitory had four people per room and lacked privacy, Susan felt much more at ease living there. She no longer had to worry about Seb barging in to have sex with her.

A few days later, one afternoon, Jessica came out of her office and placed a document on Susan's desk.

"Susan, this is the data requested by one of our major clients. You need to deliver it to room 1288 at the Caesar Grand Hotel. It's urgent, so hurry," Jessica instructed.

"Got it." Susan grabbed the document and her bag, then quickly headed out of the office.
