Chapter 733 Still Soft-Hearted

Susan furrowed slightly, and the next moment, she picked up a blanket and walked out of the bedroom.

Placing the blanket on the couch, Susan glanced towards the bathroom. Hearing the water stop, she quickly ran back to the bedroom.

Locking the bedroom door and turning off the lights, Susan didn't rush to bed but stood behind the door, listening intently to the sounds outside.

Seb walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. Seeing the closed bedroom door and the neatly arranged blanket, quilt and pillow on the couch, a smile appeared on his lips.

The next moment, Seb looked at the bedroom door and deliberately said loudly, "You said you wouldn't let me stay, but then you're worried I'll freeze? Not only did you give me a quilt, you even threw in a blanket!"

Hearing this through the door, Susan pursed her lips and quickly ran to the bed, covering her head with the blanket.

Under the blanket, Susan pounded the soft mattress in frustration.

Why couldn't she be more ruthless? No, it wasn't that she still cared about him; it was just humanitarianism. After all, it was snowing heavily outside, and she couldn't kick anyone out in such weather.

Lying in bed, with the white light outside the window, Susan tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

Maybe it was because he was outside; she just couldn't feel at ease.

But she hadn't slept well the night before either, and it was already so late. After tossing and turning for a while, Susan finally fell asleep.

The next morning, Susan was woken up by a group of chirping birds outside the window.

When Susan opened her eyes, she realized it was already very bright outside.

The next moment, she sat up abruptly.

Looking at the clock on the wall, it was already 8:15.

How did she sleep so soundly?

If she didn't hurry, she'd be late.

Susan quickly took out a set of clothes from the wardrobe, got dressed, and walked to the door, feeling a bit nervous because he was still outside.

Taking a deep breath, Susan reached out and opened the door.

When the door opened, Susan found it was completely quiet outside.

Puzzled, Susan walked out of the bedroom and first noticed that the couch was empty, but the blanket and quilt were neatly folded.

Susan glanced towards the bathroom and kitchen, finding them both empty.

It was then that Susan realized he had already left.

Running to the door, she saw that his shoes were gone, but the pink slippers he wore last night were still there, albeit a bit deformed from his large feet.

Thinking about his big feet squeezed into those pink slippers was quite funny.

Knowing he had left, Susan felt much more at ease.

She went to the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out, she suddenly noticed a thermos on the dining table.

Curiously, Susan walked over and found a note under the thermos.

Furrowing her brow, she picked up the note and saw Seb's flamboyant handwriting.

[Breakfast is in the thermos. I'll come over to make dinner tonight. Be home by 6:30.]

Seeing this plain message, Susan pursed her lips.

He was coming over to make dinner tonight? That was surprising.

Susan didn't have time to think too much; she was indeed a bit hungry. The most important thing was to eat quickly and get to work.

Opening the thermos, Susan was pleasantly surprised!

Inside were her favorite sandwiches from the shop downstairs and some hot milk.

Taking out the still-steaming sandwich, Susan felt a warmth in her heart.

It had snowed heavily last night, and everything outside was still white. It was touching that he had gone out in such cold weather to buy her a sandwich.

Sitting in the chair, Susan enjoyed the food, feeling a bit less resentful.

After breakfast, with her stomach warm, Susan put on her coat, grabbed her bag, and headed out.

Despite the cold outside, Susan felt warm, probably because of the hot milk.

As soon as she stepped into the office, Susan greeted Dorothy and Isabella with a smile. "Good morning!"

"Morning," Isabella replied, watching Susan walk briskly into her office.

After Susan's office door closed, Dorothy looked at Isabella and said, "Susan seems to be in a good mood."

"I think it's not just 'seems,' she really is," Isabella replied.

Half an hour later, Isabella walked into Susan's office with a bouquet of fresh red roses.

Seeing the flowers in Isabella's arms, Susan pursed her lips. She didn't need to ask to know who sent them.

Glancing at the flowers, Isabella asked, "The delivery guy just brought these. What do you think? Should I throw them in the trash?"

Unfazed, Susan replied, "Such beautiful flowers, it would be a shame to throw them away. Put them in a vase outside; they can help beautify our office."

Hearing her finally relent, Isabella leaned in with a smile, asking, "Did you make up with Seb?"

Susan rolled her eyes at Isabella and said, "Throwing away such beautiful flowers would be a waste. I can just pretend they weren't from him."

Susan reached out and touched a rose petal.

Hearing this, Isabella pouted and said, "Got it."

With that, Isabella left with the flowers.

After Isabella left, Susan shook her head with a smile and then got back to work.

Half an hour later, Isabella burst into Susan's office!

"Ha, you lied to me!" Isabella shouted.

Seeing Isabella's urgent expression, Susan asked, "What did I lie to you about?"

Isabella loudly said, "You said you didn't make up with Seb. Did he stay at your place last night?"

Frowning at Isabella's loud voice, Susan quickly stood up, walked around her desk, and closed the office door.

"Can you keep your voice down?" Susan said to Isabella.

Seeing Susan's nervousness, Isabella crossed her arms and smiled. "So I was right, wasn't I?"

"No!" Susan immediately denied it.

Isabella stared at Susan and smiled, saying, "I knew you wouldn't admit it. I just called Leon, and he said he picked up Seb from your place this morning."

Susan pouted and said, "So what? He came over this morning to bring me a sandwich."

"Leon also told me he dropped Seb off at your place last night," Isabella said slyly.
