Chapter 915 Domineering and Overbearing
"Hurry up and drink some water!" Leon's face went pale with worry.
Isabella was choking so bad her eyes rolled back. She felt something stuck in her chest and was terrified she might choke to death, panic surging through her heart.
In the next moment, Isabella grabbed the water from Leon's hand and gulped down half the bottle.
Once the food was washed down, Isabella let out a long sigh of relief.
Just a second ago, she thought she was a goner. If she had choked to death, it would have made the news.
Seeing that Isabella was okay, Leon also breathed a sigh of relief and said, "You're an adult. How do you still manage to choke while eating? You're really reckless!"
By this time, Isabella had finished her breakfast and snapped, "It's none of your business! Open the door!"
She reached out to pull the car door handle, but it was still locked.
Leon frowned, reluctant but still reached out to unlock the car door.
Giving Leon a glare, Isabella turned and opened the car door.
Just as she was about to get out, Isabella suddenly turned back and said, "By the way, send me your bank account number."
"For what?" Leon asked, frowning.
Isabella said, "To pay you back for the meal."
Hearing this, Leon thought for a moment and said, "I'm a bit short on cash lately. How about you pay me back in cash instead?"
Isabella had no choice but to say, "I'll contact you after I withdraw the cash."
After saying that, Isabella got out of the car without looking back.
Watching Isabella walk into the office building, Leon couldn't help but smile.
Sitting at her desk, Isabella was still fuming over Leon's antics this morning.
But after calming down, she thought about the delicious burger and soda water today, and her heart felt a bit warm.
He could be thoughtful and gentle, but he was often domineering and inconsiderate, disregarding others' feelings.
In short, Leon had disturbed Isabella's heart.
That afternoon, after lunch, Isabella went to the bank and withdrew over two thousand dollars, put the money in her bag, and prepared to pay Leon back the next time she saw him.
However, for several days in a row, Isabella didn't see Leon.
Isabella wanted to call him to pay back the money but didn't want to have any entanglements with him, so she held back from calling.
That night, after ten o'clock, the night was deep outside.
When Isabella was about to go to sleep, she suddenly felt thirsty, so she went to the kitchen to pour a glass of water.
Standing by the window, holding the glass, she took a sip of water and inadvertently glanced downstairs.
She saw a familiar luxury car parked downstairs, and a familiar figure standing next to it.
The streetlights were still on, and in the dim light, Isabella saw that familiar face clearly.
Seeing Leon standing downstairs, Isabella quickly moved out of sight, afraid he would see her.
Holding the glass, Isabella's heart was pounding.
She thought, 'Why is he here? What does he want?'
The next moment, Isabella quickly turned off the kitchen light.
Then, she slowly walked to the window and looked down again, only to see Leon looking up at the window.
Isabella stood by the window for a few minutes. Leon probably saw the lights go out in her apartment, then got into the driver's seat, and the car drove away the next moment.
After the car disappeared, Isabella touched her chest, and her heart finally stopped pounding so hard.
Since then, every night, Isabella would quietly look out the window.
Leon would drive over almost every night, stay downstairs for half an hour or an hour, and then drive away.
Isabella always pretended not to know, but she was very puzzled. 'What is he doing? Is he feeling guilty, or has he developed feelings for me?'
But even if he had feelings for her, why didn't he say anything? Why did he come to stand outside her building almost every night?
A few nights later, Isabella saw Leon standing downstairs again.
This time, Isabella put on a coat, took an envelope, and ran downstairs.
Isabella suddenly appeared at the entrance of the building, surprising Leon, who was smoking in front of his car.
The next moment, Isabella walked up to Leon.
Leon glanced at Isabella and frowned. "Why did you come downstairs wearing so little? Don't you know the night wind is strong?"
Hearing this, Isabella's heart softened.
At this moment, Leon was silent for a moment, feeling he might have said something overly concerned.
The next moment, Isabella directly asked, "Are you so idle every day? Why do you come to stand here every day?"
"I don't come every day," Leon, being exposed, felt a bit embarrassed and immediately retorted.
"Can you stop haunting me? You're seriously affecting my life!" Isabella said angrily.
Hearing this, Leon frowned and said, "I'm just standing downstairs for a while. How does that affect you?"
"It puts pressure on me! Tell me, what exactly do you want?" Isabella shouted at Leon.
"I..." Leon stammered, unable to find a reason, and directly said, "Didn't you say you would pay me back? It's been so many days, and you haven't. I was too embarrassed to ask you for it!"
Hearing this, Isabella's face changed.
Leon regretted it a bit, realizing the reason he gave was too lame.
The next moment, Isabella forcefully thrust the envelope into Leon's hand. "How can you be so petty? Do you think I'm someone who would renege on a debt? It's just over two thousand dollars! Is it that serious?"
Leon was speechless.
At this moment, Isabella glared at Leon and said, "Now that you have your money, why aren't you leaving?"
Leon finally couldn't hold back and snapped at the relentless Isabella. "This is a public place. When did it become your home? I can stay here overnight if I want, it's none of your business!"
Isabella was so angry that she couldn't speak for a moment. Finally, she glared at Leon fiercely. "You can do anything here for all I care!"
After saying that, Isabella turned and ran into the building.
After Isabella left, under the night sky, Leon was so angry he didn't know what to do. Looking at the envelope in his hand, he was furious.
He wasn't just angry at Isabella but also at himself. These days, he clearly cared about her but was too embarrassed to approach her directly, so he came to stand outside her building at night. But under her questioning, it turned into him coming to collect a debt.
