Chapter 699 He Was Unable

Hearing this, Susan gave a faint smile and said, "Even treating you to a meal can't shut you up, huh?"

"By the way, what did Leon want with you today?" Isabella asked afterward.

Susan glanced at Isabella and asked, "Didn't Leon tell you?"

Hearing this, Isabella pouted and said, "He didn't say a word to me and just rushed off."

Hearing Isabella's complaint, Susan lowered her head and said, "It was nothing much, just asked me to talk to Seb and get him to pull himself together."

Susan, deep in thought, stirred her Mexican food with a fork, having no appetite, her mind filled with Leon's words.

Isabella frowned and said, "Seb may be cold usually, but losing another family member this time is really heartbreaking. You two were married, and you have two kids. If you have time, you should go and talk to him."

Hearing this, Susan laughed and said, "Weren't you cursing Seb just a few days ago? Now you want me to comfort him?"

"Hey, I'm all for compassion, alright?" Isabella laughed.

Susan suddenly felt that bringing up the topic of Seb was really heavy. Seeing Isabella enjoying her meal so much, she didn't want to spoil her mood, so she got up and said, "I'm going to the restroom."

"Hurry up!" Isabella shouted at Susan's back.

After using the restroom, Susan stood at the sink, washing her hands.

At that moment, someone entered the restroom. Without looking up, Susan heard the sound of high heels on the floor and smelled a strong perfume, knowing it must be a stylish beauty.

The stylish beauty saw Susan in the mirror, paused, frowned, and then walked in, swaying her hips with a handbag.

She placed her handbag on the sink, turned on the faucet, and while washing her hands, smiled at Susan, saying, "What a coincidence, you're eating here too?"

Hearing someone talking to her, Susan, who had been lost in thought, turned her head and was stunned!

The beauty washing her hands next to her was none other than Esme, a singer who had been quite famous in Maple Valley recently.

However, in the past few months, she hadn't had any new endorsements or songs, and hadn't even appeared on a decent stage, probably because she had broken up with her wealthy backer.

Susan knew that Seb had been backing Esme for a while, but in the past few months, Seb had changed several women, so there were no good resources left for Esme.

Susan and Esme had had conflicts before, and she didn't want to have anything to do with Esme, so she didn't want to engage with her.

But suddenly, Susan remembered Leon's words today. He said Seb never had a real relationship with Esme or those other women. Although she didn't quite believe it, she wanted to verify it, and maybe now was the chance.

"Yeah, it seems we keep running into each other," Susan smiled at Esme.

Esme seemed to have lost her previous hostility towards Susan today. Although her attitude was still arrogant, she clearly showed a willingness to chat.

"Ms. Wilson, Seb and I have long been over, so we're not enemies anymore. How about we just let bygones be bygones?" Esme said, shrugging her shoulders.

Hearing her mention Seb, Susan smiled and probed, "Seb and I have been divorced for a long time. I never considered you my enemy. He changes women like he changes clothes; there's no need to take it seriously. You're beautiful and talented, still a popular singer, you'll find someone better."

A few words made the arrogant Esme beam with delight. She placed one hand on the sink and adjusted her dress with the other, saying, "Seb does change women often, but the money he spends on women is just for fun; he can't get anything real done!"

"What do you mean?" Susan frowned at these words.

Seeing Susan's puzzled look, Esme laughed loudly, then stepped forward and whispered to Susan, "Hey, why did you divorce Seb?"

"Emotional incompatibility," Susan thought for a moment and said.

Esme snorted and said, "Couples always say emotional incompatibility as a reason for divorce. That's just a fancy way of putting it. The truth is, you two weren't compatible in bed, right?"

Susan had never discussed bedroom matters with anyone other than Isabella, so she blushed a bit, but she knew she was close to getting Esme to reveal more.

"Such things can't be said in public; it's embarrassing," Susan said vaguely.

Esme glanced at Susan and laughed, saying, "We've both broken up with him, so what does it matter? When did he start being... unable?"

"What?" Susan stared at Esme.

Seb? Unable to perform? That wasn't her experience at all. If anything, she had been the one who struggled to keep up.

"All show, no go, that one," Esme said with a dramatic pout.

Hearing this, Susan's mind raced. Could Leon be right? Had Seb really been faking it with Esme and the others, leading them to believe he was the one with the problem?

"But... you're so beautiful," Susan said, frowning. "Surely..."

"Honey, when a man's got performance issues, it doesn't matter how hot the woman is," Esme interrupted.

"So you never actually... with him?" Susan probed.

At this moment, Susan's heart began to leap with joy.

"He can't do it with any woman, it's not my problem, okay?" Esme said.

"I know, I know," Susan quickly nodded.

Then, Esme started to ramble on.

"No matter what I tried, he had no reaction at all. But when it came to spending money on me, finding resources, even buying houses and cars, there was no problem at all. I was so frustrated!"

Hearing this, Susan was stunned.
