Chapter 1236 Don't Engage in Strenuous Exercise
Daryl glanced back at Cecilia, who found it amusing and turned away to cover her mouth and laugh.
Douglas walked in with a Sylvanor translator.
"Mr. Fields," Douglas greeted.
Daryl pointed at Douglas and said, "You're just in time. Ask her what she's babbling about."
"Okay," Douglas responded and had the female translator behind him help with the translation.
The female translator and the nurse babbled for a while, then the translator turned to Daryl and smiled, "Mr. Fields, the nurse says that Miss Thorne is still very weak and cannot engage in strenuous activities, so please restrain yourself!"
After saying this, the translator lowered her head, trying to suppress her laughter.
Cecilia, sitting on the hospital bed, blushed deeply and wanted to hide under the covers out of embarrassment.
Douglas also lowered his head and remained silent. After the nurse finished speaking, she left the room.
The atmosphere in the room was a bit tense. Daryl cleared his throat and quickly regained his composure. "How's the rescue operation going?"
"The rescue is over. All the missing people have been found. We discovered the bodies of two victims, and the rest have been rescued," Douglas replied.
Cecilia forgot her embarrassment and urgently asked Douglas, "Douglas, did anyone from our magazine lose their lives?"
Douglas replied, "No, only two employees from the magazine were slightly injured and are also in this hospital."
Cecilia breathed a sigh of relief. "That's great, no casualties from the magazine."
"Mr. Fields, you promised a reward of $100,000 to whoever rescued Miss Thorne last night. Since it was your team that rescued her, does that mean the reward is canceled?" Douglas asked.
Daryl responded, "Divide the $100,000 among the helmsman and sailors on my boat, and give $1,000 to each of the other rescue participants. Also, thank them for me."
"Okay," Douglas nodded and then said softly, "Mr. Fields, you haven't slept for two days and nights. I've booked a room for you at a nearby hotel. Do you want to rest?"
"No need. You've also been working hard these past two days. Go get some sleep!" Daryl shook his head and patted Douglas on the shoulder.
"Alright," Douglas nodded and then left with the translator.
After the door closed, Cecilia looked at him and smiled, "You offered a $100,000 reward to save me?"
Daryl stepped forward, took her hand, and kissed the back of it. "You're priceless to me."
"You're so sweet today," Cecilia said with a smile.
Daryl lowered his head and said, "It seems you tasted my sweetness earlier."
Meeting his mischievous gaze, Cecilia shyly pushed him away and said, "Behave yourself. Didn't you hear what the nurse said?"
"What did she say?" Daryl deliberately glanced at the door and then whispered, "She said no strenuous activities, but she didn't say you couldn't listen to me."
"You're so bad now," Cecilia said, blushing as Daryl's warm breath brushed her face, making her feel flustered.
"You don't like it?" Daryl pulled her back into his arms.
Cecilia, however, was more concerned about him. She touched his cheek and said, "No wonder your stubble was pricking me earlier. You haven't slept for two days and nights. Look at you, you look terrible!"
Seeing the concern in her eyes, Daryl said nonchalantly, "It's just two days and nights. I can handle it. My beard just grows fast."
With that, Daryl lowered his head and rubbed his stubble against her smooth face.
"What are you doing? It hurts," Cecilia exclaimed.
Daryl smirked, "Calling out already? The main event is still to come."
Hearing such suggestive words, Cecilia blushed again and warned, "This is a hospital. Don't mess around!"
"Then what should I do? I don't understand. Explain it to me," Daryl said with a teasing tone.
Cecilia was already embarrassed and angry. "Stop it, okay? I'm getting goosebumps. Go back to the hotel and sleep!"
As they were playfully arguing, the door opened again.
Daryl quickly stood up in front of the bed.
Cecilia looked up and saw the nurse from earlier with a tray, accompanied by the female translator Douglas had brought. It seemed Douglas had left the translator to help them communicate with the nurse.
The translator said to Daryl, "Mr. Fields, the nurse is here to give Miss Thorne an IV."
"I'm fine. Why do I need an IV?" Cecilia, who was afraid of needles, asked fearfully.
The translator quickly explained, "The doctor said you're a bit dehydrated and need to replenish glucose."
"I see," Cecilia said, lowering her head.
The nurse approached the bed and took her left hand to prepare for the IV.
Seeing her nervousness, Daryl stepped forward and held her shoulder with one hand and her hand with the other.
This made Cecilia feel much better.
Noticing her tension, the nurse smiled and babbled a few words.
The translator quickly said, "This nurse is the best at giving IVs in this hospital. She's very experienced, so don't worry."
"Really?" Cecilia looked at the nurse preparing the IV and felt more at ease, hoping it wouldn't hurt too much.
Then, there was the sound of the needle piercing the skin.
"Ah," Cecilia exclaimed softly.
Daryl whispered in her ear, "I told you, the main event is coming."
Cecilia looked up at his gloating expression.
He had been waiting for this moment. How annoying, making her overthink.
Cecilia, not caring about the pain on the back of her hand, reached out and pinched his lower back!
