Chapter 653 Stop Acting

After flipping through the diary roughly, Susan closed it and looked up at Seb.

Susan opened her mouth to speak, but Seb sarcastically said, "If you're going to use some lame excuse to explain this to me, don't waste your breath!"

Susan, however, responded calmly, "I don't intend to explain. I want to tell you that everything written in this diary is true. Andrew and I did date before, and it lasted for three years."

Hearing this, Seb suddenly stood up.

"Susan, what kind of woman are you? You've stooped to such a shameless level!" Seb pointed at Susan and shouted angrily.

Susan looked at Seb fearlessly and said, "You should know that I had a boyfriend before. I just didn't tell you that it was Andrew. When Andrew and I were dating, neither of us was engaged, and I didn't know you. I don't see what I did wrong. And when I saw him again, at the Anderson Family…yes, I kept it a secret. Because it was over, and dredging it all up would have only made things awkward, painful. That's all it was."

Susan looked at Seb with clear eyes, hoping he would believe her.

But Susan's words only made Seb laugh out loud!

His laughter was loud, filled with sadness, anger, and hurt. Susan felt her heart twist painfully.

The next moment, Seb turned and walked step by step towards Susan.

She looked up at him; he was nearly a head taller than her, making her feel very pressured.

Seb grabbed Susan's shoulders and shook her violently, gritting his teeth as he said, "I already told you not to try to fool me with those lame excuses. Do you think I'm already smitten with you? Susan, you're too confident. Do you think I'll believe this ridiculous excuse? You and Andrew acted so well, pretending you never knew each other, but you were together for three years, three years!"

"Yes, I dated him for three years. I thought I truly loved him and that we could be together forever. But one day, he met a rich girl and went abroad with her. I thought he had disappeared from my life. For five years, I heard nothing from him. How could I have known he would suddenly appear as Rylee's husband in the Anderson Family?"

"I admit, it's all my fault. I should have told you, I know that now. But I didn't, and one lie led to another, and now…now you and Rylee think I'm part of some elaborate scheme with that…that opportunist! He doesn't care about her, Seb, he only cares about your family's money and power!"

Susan was almost dizzy from Seb's shaking, and her voice rose in agitation.

Hearing this, Seb's deep eyes lingered on Susan's face for a few seconds before he sneered, "Even the slyest fox can't escape the hunter's sharp eyes. I haven't even accused you and Andrew of conspiring, and you're already eager to explain? Susan, you've exposed yourself!"

Seeing his self-righteous look, Susan said disdainfully, "A few days ago, I got a call from Andrew. He said you and Rylee were convinced he and I conspired to seize the Anderson Family's assets. He warned me not to admit it."

Susan's words made Seb even angrier. His hands tightened on Susan's shoulder blades.

Susan winced in pain but didn't make a sound.

She stared intently at Seb's now darkened face and asked, "Is that what you think too? Do you think Andrew and I conspired?"

"Isn't it true?" Seb's eyes were like two cold knives, already piercing Susan's skin.

"I thought you knew me well enough. I didn't expect you to be so impulsive, to judge me so easily. You've really disappointed me!" Susan said, looking at Seb.

"Hmph!" Seb let go of Susan's shoulders the next moment.

After he released her, Susan sighed in relief and rubbed her sore shoulders.

"Stop acting. Now that the truth is out, I won't believe anything you say." Seb turned his back to her, not wanting to look at Susan at all.

Hearing this, Susan's emotions became unstable. She looked at his back and spoke quickly, "If I conspired with Andrew, I wouldn't have gone five years without contacting him. If I conspired with him, I wouldn't have easily divorced you, and I wouldn't have refused any of the assets you wanted to give me. You insisted I take those properties, right? And I warned you many times that Andrew was a schemer and that you should keep an eye on him. If I were his accomplice, I wouldn't harm myself, would I?"

Hearing this, Seb turned and looked at Susan, sneering, "That might be your cleverness, playing hard to get, retreating to advance, making me feel more guilty towards you. That's your smartest move, isn't it?"

Seeing Seb's self-righteous look, Susan got angry and nodded helplessly. "Fine, if that's what you think, I have nothing more to say. I won't explain this again. Think whatever you want! Now I want to talk to you about Hayden and Spring."

"I have nothing to talk to you about!" Seb said firmly, then turned to his desk, took a cigarette from the pack, and lit it with a lighter.

Susan walked up to Seb, slapped the table in agitation, and said, "I am their mother. Visiting them is my legal right. You can't refuse for any reason!"

"What? Are you going to sue me? Fine, go ahead. I know there's someone who likes you. No, no, he's already married. But I think as long as you say the word, George will still be at your beck and call, willing to do anything for you!" Seb sneered disdainfully.
