Chapter 1302 Business Trip

Hearing those words, Cecilia felt a wave of sadness wash over her as she looked at Daryl's back.

The next moment, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing herself against his back, closing her eyes to feel his warmth and presence.

Daryl sensed the gentle touch from behind and furrowed his brows slightly.

"When will you be back?" Cecilia asked, opening her eyes after a few seconds.

"At least a week," Daryl replied.

Cecilia lowered her gaze, her emotions a mix of confusion and sorrow.

Daryl turned around, looking down at Cecilia, who was clearly not in the best mood. He frowned and said, "A week will fly by."

Cecilia quickly lifted her head and forced a smile. "I know, don't worry. I'll wait for you. Let me help you pack. What clothes do you need?"

She turned and grabbed a suitcase, starting to pack for Daryl, knowing that if she kept talking, she wouldn't be able to control her emotions.

Daryl sat on the edge of the bed, watching Cecilia pack. He then reminded her, "I'm heading to Skyhaven this time. Douglas won't be coming with me. If you need anything urgent, you can call him for help."

Cecilia, holding one of Daryl's shirts, nodded. "Got it. Why isn't Douglas going with you this time?"

Douglas was Daryl's most trusted ally, shadowing him like a second shadow wherever he went.

"It's just a simple negotiation, nothing major. I'll take a couple of regular assistants. Douglas will stay in Maple Valley to handle other business," Daryl explained.

"Okay," Cecilia nodded, then continued packing in silence. Her mind was a mess, and her packing was not as meticulous as usual.

Once the suitcase was packed, Cecilia placed it in the center of the room and looked up at Daryl. "It's ready. When are you leaving?"

Daryl stood up and walked over to Cecilia, his dark eyes fixed on her. "Now."

Cecilia frowned. "So soon? Are you hungry? Let me get you something to eat for the trip!"

She turned to leave, but Daryl grabbed her arm, stopping her. "No need, there are meals on the plane."

Hearing this, Cecilia paused. His eyes locked onto hers, darker than usual. She couldn't tell what lay beneath.

When Daryl saw the tears welling up in Cecilia's eyes, his heart softened. He pulled her into a tight embrace.

The hug made Cecilia's heart tremble. She closed her eyes, deeply feeling his presence, knowing this would be their last goodbye. The thought made her heart ache.

After holding her for a while, Daryl released Cecilia and kissed her forehead gently. "It's getting late. I have to go."

Cecilia wanted to say something, but Daryl bent down, picked up the suitcase, and walked out of the bedroom without looking back.

Seeing this, Cecilia took a step forward to see him off, but Daryl waved his left hand without turning around. "No need to see me off."

With that, Daryl's figure disappeared through the door.

Cecilia stood in the middle of the bedroom, unable to move for a long time, her feet feeling like they were made of lead.

She didn't want to see him off because she feared she wouldn't be able to control her emotions, and he would worry. Cecilia didn't want him to leave with any concerns.

She quickly ran to the window and looked down, just in time to see Daryl walking out of the villa with his suitcase. A driver approached and took the suitcase from him.

At that moment, Daryl looked up and saw Cecilia standing by the window.

Their eyes met, and Cecilia waved at Daryl, tears streaming down her face.

Daryl waved back and then turned and left decisively.

Soon, Daryl's car drove away from the villa.

Cecilia silently cried as she watched the empty garden.

She had been unable to make up her mind to leave, but Daryl's departure gave her the opportunity. It was time for her to go.

Suddenly, Cecilia didn't know where to go. The world felt vast, yet she had no place to call home.

After Daryl left, Cecilia began planning her next steps.

She couldn't go back to her parents' house; it would be too easy for him to find her, and she didn't want to worry her mother and brother.

Since she had decided to leave, she needed to do it thoroughly. She had to go somewhere no one knew her and cut off all ties with her current friends. Only then would Daryl give up looking for her. When he couldn't find her, he would eventually move on with his life.

With that in mind, Cecilia started drafting a divorce agreement.

She and Daryl had only been married for a little over six months. They had no children and no significant assets to divide, so a simple agreement would suffice.

After writing the agreement, Cecilia placed it in the drawer of her vanity.

Then she went downstairs.

Seeing no one in the living room, Cecilia asked Finn, overseeing the cleaning staff, "Finn, where's Mrs. Azalea Fields?"

"Mrs. Azalea Fields went out for tea with some friends," Finn replied.

"I want to visit my parents. Can you let her know when she gets back?" Cecilia said.

Finn frowned slightly and quickly responded, "Mrs. Azalea Fields isn't home, and I can't make that decision. It's getting late. Why don't you wait until she returns this afternoon and tell her yourself?"

Cecilia thought for a moment. It wasn't urgent, and she could buy some things for her mother and brother tomorrow. She had no idea when they would see each other again.

"Alright, I'll wait until she gets back," Cecilia agreed.

"Thank you for understanding," Finn said.

Cecilia smiled and nodded, then went back upstairs.

Upstairs, she saw the maids changing the bedding in various rooms and instinctively began guiding them.

When Cecilia entered Elijah's room and started pulling the sheets off his bed, someone suddenly walked in from outside!
