Chapter 1202 Your Actions Have Already Betrayed You
Cecilia's tearful eyes met Daryl's gaze. With tears streaming down her face, she softly asked, "Douglas has already told me everything. Why didn't you tell me earlier? Do you know how much pain I was in when I lost that child?"
"I'm sorry. I wasn't there when you needed me the most, but please believe me, I've always been watching over you, and my heart has always been with you!" he reached out and wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb.
The tears were on her face, but the pain was in his heart.
Cecilia was extremely agitated. "What's the point of saying sorry? I know you had your reasons, and you were trying to protect me, but couldn't you have told me beforehand? Do you know how I got through those six months? Do you know my pain?"
As she spoke, her fists began to pound on Daryl's chest.
Her fists hit his chest, and he furrowed his brows, his eyes filled with guilt and apology, letting her hit and scold him.
After hitting him a dozen times, Cecilia grew tired and began to sob uncontrollably.
Daryl held her tightly in his strong arms, unable to respond to her accusations.
Cecilia, exhausted from hitting him, leaned against his chest and cried her heart out. Daryl could only hold her tightly, his hands constantly stroking her back.
After a long time, Cecilia finally lifted her swollen eyes.
Daryl looked down at her and softly pleaded, "Cecilia, come back to me."
She firmly shook her head and said, "No."
Daryl furrowed his brows and asked nervously, "Why? Is it because of Barry? Are you really with him?"
Cecilia stared at Daryl and nodded. "Yes."
His grip on her shoulders loosened, but soon he tightened it again, holding her even more forcefully than before.
"Cecilia, you love me, don't you?" Daryl asked urgently.
Cecilia, with her head lowered, felt a pang in her heart. She knew very well who she loved, and she couldn't deceive him with this question.
She met Daryl's gaze and said, "Daryl, the foundation of a relationship is love, but there must also be morality and a sense of order. Barry and I are already together. Barry did nothing wrong, and he was there for me during my most difficult times, providing me with great support. I can't betray him!"
"I'm asking you, do you love me?" Daryl growled, frustrated by Cecilia's evasive answer.
Seeing his agitated expression, Cecilia frowned and said, "Can you calm down?"
"How can I calm down? The woman I love the most is about to leave me forever. If I could stay calm, would I still be a man?" Daryl released Cecilia's shoulders and turned to punch the wall in frustration.
Cecilia's head buzzed, her eyes fixed on Daryl's fist. The wall was too hard; his hand must hurt a lot.
She stepped in front of Daryl. "Can you control yourself? You're in your thirties and the CEO of such a large corporation. How can you be so impulsive?"
Daryl dejectedly ran a hand through his hair and said, "I don't know. I can stay calm about everything except when it comes to you."
Cecilia looked at Daryl with a pained expression.
His dejection and despair truly touched the softest part of her heart, but she had to restrain herself. She couldn't betray Barry; she didn't want to be a fickle woman.
"Daryl, forget about me," Cecilia said sadly, gazing at Daryl.
Daryl stepped forward and grasped Cecilia's shoulders, his eyes filled with reluctance as he stared at her. "I might forget who I am, but I'll never forget you."
She was momentarily speechless, not knowing what to say.
Daryl lowered his head and kissed Cecilia's lips.
Cecilia struggled for a moment, but then she was moved by his passion and entangled with him.
His kiss was fiery and filled with a strong sense of longing and possessiveness, completely enveloping her in his presence.
His warm breath, familiar scent, and long-lost embrace and kiss made her forget the time and place.
Feeling her response, he became even more passionate, pouring all his longing from the past six months into this kiss.
His kiss left her breathless and weak, and she surrendered her weight entirely to him.
This was the feeling of a heart-pounding moment, the kind of unforgettable, soul-stirring sensation she thought she would never experience again in her life. But he could easily make her heart race!
After a long time, he finally stopped the intense and passionate kiss.
He looked down at Cecilia's swollen lips, a satisfied smile playing on his lips. He was very pleased with his handiwork.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" The passionate kiss left her blushing.
"You still love me. You can't deceive me. Your actions just now betrayed you!" Daryl said dominantly.
Cecilia furrowed her brows.
She knew she couldn't deceive him, and she indeed couldn't resist his attraction.
"Cecilia, please come back to me. We love each other. Can you bear to leave me?" Daryl's brows furrowed as he gazed deeply at Cecilia.
Cecilia felt conflicted. She lowered her head and thought for a moment before meeting his gaze and saying, "Daryl, we can't be so selfish and only think of ourselves. Barry did nothing wrong. Leaving him to be with you would break his heart. If I were someone who only cared about myself, would you still like me? Should we build our happiness on someone else's pain? Daryl, please understand, I can't do that. Even though I love you, love you very much, and only feel that heart-fluttering feeling with you, morality is above love. Don't you agree?"
Daryl gazed at Cecilia with pained eyes.
There was no disputing what Cecilia said. If she were selfish, he might not have liked her in the first place. But now, he had to face the reality of losing her forever, watching her fall into another man's arms. It was like a slow, torturous death for him.
