Chapter 149 A Unique Proposal
Seb froze on top of Susan, thankfully covered by a blanket and not naked.
Seeing Isabella, Susan screamed and burrowed into Seb's arms.
Meanwhile, Isabella, never having seen such a scene, stood there, mouth agape.
"Aren't you going to leave?" Seb asked, clearly annoyed.
Isabella quickly turned around, blushing. "Carry on, I'll leave now!" she said, heading for the door.
Realizing something, she turned back, closed the sliding door, and shouted, "Sorry, I didn't mean to!"
"Damn it, my eyes are going to be sore tonight," Isabella muttered as she left.
When the door slammed shut, Susan blushed and hit Seb. "It's all your fault, now I can't face anyone!"
"Why not? We're openly in love," Seb replied seriously.
"You still say that? I invited Isabella for dinner tonight, but you distracted me, and I forgot," Susan said, almost in tears.
Seb laughed. "So you enjoyed it."
"Annoying!" Susan pounded on Seb's chest.
To Seb, her punches were playful. He smiled and let her hit him.
After a while, Susan tired out, while Seb felt nothing.
When Susan was exhausted, Seb took the opportunity to start again.
"You're going again?" Susan protested.
Seb pinned her hands to the pillow, eyes gleaming. "We must finish what we start."
Susan opened her mouth to protest, but Seb kissed her and continued.
When things finally calmed down, a dim wall lamp lit the room.
Clothes were scattered, sheets messy, and heavy breathing filled the air.
Susan lay exhausted in Seb's arms, eyes closed. After a long day, she was too tired to move.
Seb's fingers slid from her shoulder to her hand. In a daze, Susan felt something cool on her left ring finger.
"What are you up to now?" she asked softly.
"Just look," Seb whispered, his breath tickling her cheek.
Susan forced her eyes open and lifted her left hand. Something dazzlingly bright on her finger caught her eye, shining more brilliantly than the lamp.
Seeing the ring, Susan perked up.
It was an extravagant diamond ring, the kind you'd see on celebrities or wealthy wives. She stared at it, then turned to Seb, shocked. "What does this mean?"
Seb smirked, took her hand, and said, "You need a ring to get married, so I had Leon order one."
"But did it have to be this big? How much did this cost?" Susan asked, still staring at the ring.
She thought, 'He could've given me the money to invest. This must've cost millions.'
Seb, sensing her hesitation, said, "Last time we got married, I wasn't thoughtful and just bought a random ring. This time, I made up for it."
Susan smiled, fiddling with the ring. "Then you need to buy me a safe."
Seb frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I'm afraid such a big diamond ring will be stolen!" she joked.
Seb raised an eyebrow. "Buying a safe is too much trouble. Why don't you move into my place tomorrow? I have a big safe at home."
"Okay," Susan nodded, then quickly realized she had been tricked.
"Wait, how did I end up moving in with you? And when did I agree to marry you? Just because you gave me a ring?" She tried to take it off, but it wasn't easy.
Seb grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers tightly. She felt a bit of pain and looked up to meet his intense gaze.
His eyes were different—focused, persistent, and full of affection, not his usual aloofness.
Seb declared, "Now that you're wearing my ring, you can't take it off!"
Feeling the serious atmosphere, Susan joked, "Am I being sold to you?"
Seb took it seriously. He grabbed her shoulder, making her wince. "From now on, you are my woman for life!" he declared peremptorily.
