Chapter 1141 Escape
"I want to eat a vegetable salad, grilled chicken, and pasta," Cecilia said.
The caregiver heard this and smiled. "Okay, I'll go get it for you right away."
After saying that, the caregiver turned to leave.
Just as she reached the door, the caregiver suddenly turned back and reminded Cecilia, "Ms. Thorne, Mr. Fields specifically instructed that you should rest well in bed and not wander around!"
Hearing this, Cecilia frowned.
Then, she immediately understood Daryl's meaning.
She was now staying in the same hospital as Skylar. If she went out, she might run into Skylar, which would be bad.
Understanding Daryl's intention, Cecilia gave a bitter smile and nodded. "Get it."
He was still very concerned about Skylar, afraid that she would ruin their wedding.
Cecilia suddenly felt very tired, so she closed her eyes.
Cecilia stayed in the hospital for three days, and after three days, the doctor said she could be discharged.
That day, Daryl didn't come to pick her up; instead, he sent a driver.
Cecilia knew Daryl was afraid that Skylar and her family would see her.
It seemed Skylar hadn't been discharged yet, and Cecilia wondered, 'Does Skylar need to stay that many days?'
After the driver took Cecilia home, she said, "Thank you, you can go back now."
The driver had just turned to leave when he unexpectedly saw someone coming out of the elevator.
"Mr. Fields?" The driver was a bit surprised to see him.
Hearing the driver's voice, Cecilia looked up and indeed saw Daryl, dressed in a gray suit, walking towards her.
Seeing Daryl, Cecilia knew he must have made up his mind and came to talk to her.
So, the next moment, Cecilia lowered her eyes and turned to walk into the door.
Seeing this, Daryl glanced at the driver, who then took the elevator downstairs to wait.
Daryl walked in and closed the door.
Cecilia put her bag on the coffee table and asked, "What do you want to say?"
Hearing this, Daryl put his hand in his pocket, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I've made up my mind. You should have the baby; after all, it's a life."
Hearing this, Cecilia frowned.
Because she thought Daryl's decision would be to have her abort it
The next moment, Cecilia looked up at Daryl and asked, "Do you mean to let this child be born as an illegitimate child? To live a life of shame?"
Hearing this, Daryl's face also looked grim, but he still said, "Except for an official father-son title, I can give him everything else."
"What do you mean by that? Are you trying to keep me as a mistress?" Cecilia questioned Daryl.
"You could say that too," Daryl said, looking at Cecilia.
Hearing this, Cecilia gave a bitter smile and said, "Aren't you afraid Skylar will find out about us?"
At this point, Daryl said, "You and the child can't stay in Maple Valley. I'll arrange for you to live in Aidamore. Aidamore is not far from Maple Valley, and the conditions there are just as good. Besides, Fields Group has a lot of business in Aidamore. I go there every month to handle affairs, so I can take care of you."
Hearing this, Cecilia said, "You've really thought this through!"
Daryl frowned and said, "Cecilia, I hope you can accept my arrangement. It's the best for you and the child."
"Then what am I? Your mistress?" Cecilia's eyes looked hurt as she stared at Daryl.
Hearing this, Daryl pursed his lips and said, "If you don't want to stay with me, I won't force you. After you give birth, I can give you a sum of money, and you can pursue your happiness."
Hearing this, Cecilia asked, "What about the child?"
"The child stays, of course. That's my child, a Fields. He absolutely cannot be left outside!" Daryl said firmly, his eyes leaving no room for doubt.
Cecilia took a step back. 'Yes, what kind of family is the Fields Family? How could they let their child be left outside?'
The next moment, Cecilia pretended to be calm and said, "I need time to think about it. I can't answer you now."
Daryl nodded and said, "Your body is weak and needs rest. I heard you've been suspended from Vogue Vista, which is good. You can take this time to recuperate. I'll come to see you in a few days."
After saying that, Daryl turned and walked out the door.
When the door closed, Cecilia sit on the couch in panic.
She placed her hand on her chest, still not fully digesting Daryl's words.
Cecilia sat on the couch for a long, time, but ultimately couldn't agree to Daryl's proposal.
To be honest, Daryl's idea was indeed tempting. If she agreed, her and her child's future would be secure, and the child could enjoy a father's love. She could also be with him, even if it was only once a month.
But if she agreed to Daryl's idea, she would be choosing a certain kind of life.
She would become a mistress, a woman who was scorned by everyone. Although her life would be affluent, she would end up living a life of self-pity, always in Skylar's shadow.
The past year had been bitter for Cecilia. If she had to live like that for the rest of her life, she would rather die.
Therefore, she wouldn't agree with what Daryl said.
But Cecilia also knew she was just a weak woman. Daryl's influence in Maple Valley was even greater than in Northstar City, so she had to leave here quietly and quickly.
After making up her mind, Cecilia packed her luggage and planned her escape route.
Early the next morning, Cecilia dressed neatly and left the apartment Susan had lent her, carrying her suitcase.
Cecilia didn't even inform Susan or Isabella because she was afraid the more people knew, the more likely something would go wrong.
Cecilia called a taxi as soon as she left and headed straight to the train station.
To prevent Daryl from knowing she was leaving, she didn't even dare to book a ticket in advance. She planned to go straight to the train station and buy the earliest short-distance ticket to anywhere, then buy another ticket to somewhere else after she had successfully escaped.
Cecilia felt her plan was foolproof. After getting out of the taxi, she bought a ticket for the next train to a neighboring city and headed to the ticket gate with her suitcase.
A few minutes later, Cecilia passed through the ticket gate smoothly. As she was about to board the train, her heart began to leap with joy. She should be able to escape successfully.
At that moment, Cecilia felt someone approaching from behind turned around.
