Chapter 843 I Am Her Everything
Seeing Susan's worried face, Seb suddenly felt like messing with her.
With a grin, Seb said, "Haven't you been doing everything you can to get close to me? Now that I'm giving you the chance, why are you hesitating?"
Susan quickly shot back, "I wasn't trying to get close to you for anything. I just wanted you to remember me."
Seb saw the determination in her eyes and felt a bit moved.
Even though Susan's constant disruptions annoyed him, right now, Seb felt a sudden curiosity about their past.
He hadn't thought about it much before. First, because she annoyed him, and second, because Ellie said their past was too painful to revisit. He trusted Ellie; she had been there for him during his recovery and was his rock in both his career and personal life.
But somehow, Susan always managed to stir something in him, especially today.
Seb looked away and said, "I'm kinda tired. Give me a massage."
He closed his eyes after saying that.
Seb didn't know why he asked for a massage, just felt like his body was really tired, like someone used to do this for him, but the memory was so fuzzy he couldn't remember who.
Seeing Seb close his eyes, looking exhausted, Susan finally relaxed a bit.
Back in the day, when he was tired, she would often give him massages. It had become a habit, and every time after, he would feel refreshed.
Susan started to knead and rub his arm, her face turning a bit red.
Turns out, he just wanted a massage, and she had misunderstood.
Seb closed his eyes, the soreness in his arm and shoulder making him feel both comfortable and a bit pained, like this feeling was very familiar.
Her touch was just right, making him feel really good.
'Could it be that she used to give me massages?' Seb thought, feeling a sudden panic. He realized he was starting to have feelings for Susan.
'Don't I love Ellie? Aren't we the perfect match?' While Seb was lost in thought, the driver slowly parked the car in front of a clinic.
"Mr. Anderson, this is the nearest decent clinic," the driver said.
Seb nodded, signaling they could get out.
The driver quickly got out and opened the door for Seb.
After Seb got out, Susan quickly followed.
They walked into the clinic, explained the situation, and a doctor started treating Seb's wound.
Susan stood in front of Seb, anxiously waiting.
"Doc, just patch it up. I don't want it to look too dramatic," Seb told the doctor.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of it," the doctor replied.
But Susan couldn't help but jump in, "Dramatic or not, shouldn't the wound be properly bandaged?"
Seb shot Susan a look but kept quiet.
Susan quickly lowered her head, getting the hint. He just didn't want to make a big deal out of it.
The doctor soon finished patching up Seb's wound.
With just a bit of gauze and tape on his forehead, it didn't look too bad. Seb checked himself out in the mirror and seemed pretty pleased.
Meanwhile, Susan bombarded the doctor with questions, "Doctor, should he get a brain scan? He had a mild concussion from a car accident a few days ago. When should he come back to change the dressing? Should he take some antibiotics? And since the wound was caused by glass, should he get a tetanus shot?"
The doctor chuckled, "Miss, it's just a minor injury. No need to worry. If he want to change the dressing, come back in three days."
"Thank you, doctor." Susan fiddled with her hair, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Seb glanced at Susan, noticing the worry in her eyes, and felt a bit taken aback.
He gently tugged her arm, his voice softer, "Let's go."
Susan nodded, a bit dazed, and followed Seb out of the clinic.
As they stepped outside, the sky was painted with a beautiful sunset.
Seb looked at the car parked nearby and then turned to Susan, "Got time for a walk?"
"Of course," Susan replied, her heart leaping.
He was willing to walk with her, which meant he didn't dislike her as much anymore. This was a good sign, and she needed to make the most of it.
Seb told the driver, "I want to walk. You can head back."
"But if Ms. Hernandez asks..." The driver glanced at Susan, looking uneasy.
Seb got what the driver meant and said, "Just tell her I had a great time bowling with Mr. Murray, and we decided to have dinner with some friends."
"Yes, Mr. Anderson." The driver nodded and started to leave.
But Seb called him back, "Wait."
"Mr. Anderson, anything else?" The driver quickly returned.
Seb frowned, "Tell her I'll be back early and that she should have a good meal."
"Yes, Mr. Anderson." This time, the driver finally left.
As the car drove away, Susan looked at Seb and asked, "Do you guys often lie to women like that?"
Seb chuckled, and the tension eased.
"It's just a little white lie. If I don't go back for dinner, Ellie won't eat much," Seb explained.
Susan felt a pang of sadness.
Because back in the day, Seb cared for her the same way. If he didn't come back for dinner, she would barely eat and wait for him on the couch or bed, no matter how late it was.
"You treat her so well," Susan said, trying to sound casual but with a hint of jealousy.
Seb frowned, "Ellie takes care of me so well. She revolves around me every day. I've become her whole world."
