Chapter 172 Great Satisfaction
Susan thought Sophia and Amelia would stop after beating her up, but she didn't expect them to file a complaint with the tourism bureau.
Adrian sounded frustrated. Susan knew the consequences of being ordered to suspend operations. Even a two-week suspension would be a big hit for the travel agency, affecting all the guides and staff.
Susan felt guilty. Why hadn't she controlled her emotions last night? She'd caused a huge problem for Adrian and the agency.
But last night was unavoidable; Sophia and Amelia would have made her suffer regardless.
Susan said to Adrian, "Boss, are the tourism bureau people still there? I want to explain myself."
"Alright," Adrian said, handing the phone to the enforcement officer.
"Hello, we're from the Lindell Harbor Tourism Bureau. Some tourists complained about your poor service and assaulting them. We need to understand the situation," a male officer said.
Susan swallowed and replied, "Hello, I want to clarify. Those tourists have a personal grudge against me. My conflict with them has nothing to do with the travel agency. Please investigate thoroughly. I'll take full responsibility."
There was a pause, then the officer said, "Ms. Wilson, it's not up to you to decide who takes responsibility. You represent the travel agency. We'll discuss this with the agency. Goodbye."
"This really has nothing to do with the agency," Susan tried to explain, but the call had already ended.
Frustrated, Susan held her phone, not knowing what to do. She cursed Sophia and Amelia in her heart.
George, who had heard the conversation, glanced at Susan while driving and asked, "Are that mother and daughter causing you trouble again?"
Susan clenched her fist and bit down on it, angrily saying, "It's one thing to cause me trouble, but now I'm dragging the agency into it. The boss is already overwhelmed. If we're ordered to suspend operations, the agency will suffer a huge loss, and it will affect my colleagues' work! Sophia and Amelia are just too despicable. I really want to fly over and fight them again."
Seeing Susan's frustration, George quickly pulled out his phone and made a call while driving.
Soon, the call connected, and George smiled, "Mr. Gonzalez, hello, this is George."
"Mr. Anderson, you're a busy man. How do you have time to call me today?" Raymond Gonzalez's voice was enthusiastic.
"I have a friend who runs a travel agency in Lindell Harbor. He's in trouble because of a malicious complaint. As far as I know, my friend is law-abiding, and those tourists are just being unreasonable. Mr. Gonzalez, can you help my friend?"
"I'll have my team look into it right away. If it's a malicious complaint, we'll protect the travel agency and hold them accountable for disrupting public order," Raymond said firmly.
"Thanks. I'll wait for your update," George replied, then hung up.
Susan, wide-eyed, asked, "You know the director of the Lindell Harbor Tourism Bureau?"
George smiled. "I once handled a case for his relative and won. He wanted to treat me to a meal, but I declined. Didn't expect it to come in handy today."
"Thanks, you've helped me again," Susan said gratefully.
"We don't know the outcome yet, so hold off on the thanks," George said modestly.
"No matter what, I appreciate it. Wow, you really have a wide network," Susan said, admiringly.
George, pleased by her admiration, grinned.
As they neared Lindell Harbor, Raymond called back. George spoke briefly and thanked him before hanging up.
"How did it go?" Susan asked anxiously.
George smiled and said, "Mr. Gonzalez had his team ask Sophia and Amelia for evidence or other tourists to back their claims. They couldn't provide any, and no one else supported them, so the complaint was dismissed."
"So the travel agency won't be suspended?" Susan asked excitedly.
"That's right," George confirmed.
"That's awesome! I'll call the boss with the good news," Susan said, quickly dialing.
Seeing Susan so happy, George added, "And because Sophia and Amelia kept calling the bureau, tying up their lines, they've disrupted government operations. The bureau called the police, and now theyare at the station giving statements. Their trip is over."
Susan clapped her hands, "Mr. Gonzalez is brilliant. Amelia needed to be dealt with!"
George smiled at Susan's cheerfulness.
Susan called Adrian to explain, and he sighed in relief. Understanding her situation, he granted her a week's leave.
After hanging up, Susan said, "I suspect those jerks last night were sent by Sophia and Amelia to get back at me."
George was stunned, then said, "That's awful. How could they do that?"
"They have no limits," Susan said flatly.
Susan felt her conflict with Sophia and Amelia ended in a draw. Since they wouldn't interact much in the future, she decided not to let them affect her mood anymore.
