Chapter 680 Vulgar

The next moment, Seb's voice rang out. "The bra should fit well, right? I remember your size."

Hearing this, Susan's face instantly blushed!

In the mirror, the bra Susan was wearing indeed fit perfectly, but hearing it from Seb made it very awkward, and Susan didn't know how to respond.

Before Susan could say anything, Seb added, "I just measured it last night, so it can't be wrong."

These words reminded Susan of their intimacy of the previous night, and it sounded so vulgar.

The next moment, Susan angrily shouted into the phone, "Seb, you're vulgar!"

His laughter rumbled through the receiver. "We're two sides of the same coin, darling. I can't be vulgar without you being equally willing, can I?"

"You forced me into it!" Susan retorted, her voice sharp with anger. "You've been spending too much time with those singers and actresses, haven't you? You're picking up their bad habits. Remember who you are, Seb! Don't stoop so low."

After saying this, Susan wanted to hang up the phone.

However, Seb laughed heartily and said, "Susan, are you jealous of Esme?"

Hearing this, Susan became even more furious and immediately retorted fiercely, "Seb, your relationship with Esme is your business. Don't flatter yourself by thinking every woman is obsessed with you. We both know what happened last night, and frankly, you were nothing special."

"Susan, don't push your luck!" These few words seemed to be very effective, immediately making Seb angry.

Hearing Seb's suppressed voice, Susan felt very pleased because she knew she had successfully provoked him.

Emboldened, she continued, "As for the clothes and bra you bought me, I'll transfer the money to you later. I'm not like those women like Esme, throwing myself at you for a few trinkets. The only reason I even bother with you is for Hayden and Spring. So wipe that smug grin off your face. Your money and charm mean nothing to me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to tend to Spring. Goodbye."

After saying this, Susan hung up the phone fiercely.

Susan felt particularly refreshed, as if she had made up for all the grievances she had suffered recently.

Then, Susan put on the clothes and shoes Seb had bought her.

Looking in the mirror above the sink, she had to admit that the clothes suited her very well, looking elegant and beautiful, though they cost more than three thousand dollars.

Susan frowned, feeling a bit pained, but she could still earn that money now, so she decided to treat herself.

Two nights later, the night was deep outside, but the lights in the ward were exceptionally bright.

Susan leaned against the bed, holding a fairy tale book, telling a story to Spring, who was already yawning.

Spring especially liked bedtime stories and would fall asleep while listening.

At this moment, a shadow passed by outside the ward.

Seb looked through the glass on the door, seeing Spring snuggled up next to Susan. The mother and daughter were engrossed in telling and listening to the story, creating a very warm atmosphere.

Watching Susan and Spring, Seb frowned.

Two days ago, Seb had intended to mock Susan over the phone, but unexpectedly, she had retorted so effectively that he couldn't even respond.

Seb was initially very angry, but later found it quite funny. He realized that no matter what, he couldn't bring himself to resent Susan.

One moment he was resenting her, but the next moment, seeing her, he couldn't help but soften, though he still pretended otherwise.

For the past two days, he had restrained himself from visiting Spring, but he had Leon bring lots of food, drinks, and toys, and even had Leon take some photos when they weren't looking.

Seb was afraid that if he came to the hospital, he would argue with Susan, and if they argued, he would force Susan to leave the hospital. He didn't want to see Spring sad, nor did he want to see Susan sad, but sometimes he just couldn't control himself.

As Seb was standing at the door, peeking at Susan and Spring in the ward, Mary, carrying a thermos, suddenly saw Seb at the door and frowned. "Mr. Anderson, why don't you go in? Spring has been missing you these past two days!"

Suddenly seeing Mary, Seb hesitated for a moment, then pretended to be calm and said, "Oh, I've been a bit busy these past two days, so I haven't come to see Spring. I see she's already sleepy, so I won't go in and disturb her sleep. I'll come see her tomorrow!"

"Alright then," Mary nodded.

Then, Seb quickly turned and left.

Watching Seb's back, Mary frowned, then pushed the door and walked into the ward.

At this moment, Spring had just fallen asleep. Susan got off the bed and smiled at Mary, saying, "After a few days of IV therapy, Spring's condition has improved a lot."

"Yes, Mr. Anderson cares so much about Spring. Today, he even had the hospital's experts consult again. It's just common childhood pneumonia, but Mr. Anderson takes it very seriously," Mary said with a smile.

Hearing this, Susan pouted, her tone filled with dissatisfaction. "Cares so much? It's been two days, and I haven't seen him once. He doesn't even come to see Spring!"

"You're wronging Mr. Anderson. I saw him at the door peeking into the ward when I came back with the water. I asked him to come in, but he said he didn't want to disturb Spring's sleep and would come tomorrow," Mary quickly defended Seb.

Hearing this, Susan was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at the door. "You said he was just at the door?"

"Yes," Mary nodded quickly.

For a moment, Susan felt a bit uncomfortable.

She knew why he didn't come in, probably because he saw her and felt awkward.

The grudges and entanglements between adults had now affected the children. Spring and Hayden actually liked it best when Seb and Susan were both with them, but the days of the four of them being together were probably over.

A family of four? Susan sometimes still thought this way, but the reality was that she and Seb were no longer a family.

The next day was Saturday. Susan was accompanying Spring for IV therapy when the door to the ward suddenly opened, and a boy in a black suit quickly ran in!
