Chapter 932 Fawning

Right then, Leon really wanted to swoop in and whisk Isabella away, but his pride and shame held him back from doing something so crazy.

In the end, all Leon could do was clench his fists and storm off in anger.

He had no right or reason to meddle in Isabella's life, and it would just make the guy she was with laugh at him.

That night, Alfonso eagerly drove Isabella home.

Later, as Isabella lay in bed, her mind was filled with thoughts of Leon.

Early the next morning, just as the caregiver was wheeling Isabella to the stairs, Alfonso suddenly showed up.

"Alfonso?" Isabella was surprised to see him.

In the morning sunlight, Alfonso smiled and said, "Isabella, since it's on my way, why don't I give you a ride? No need to always trouble the caregiver to walk you to the office."

Isabella was taken aback.

Logically, she hadn't known Alfonso for even a day, so why was he being so nice to her? Given her situation, she figured a guy like Alfonso wouldn't be interested in her.

Seeing Isabella's hesitation, Alfonso stepped forward and started pushing the wheelchair.

The caregiver protested, "Sir, this is my job, don't take it away from me, okay?"

Alfonso just smiled and didn't mind.

Isabella quickly reacted and refused. "Alfonso, you're busy with work, you really don't need to help me. It's also pretty close to the office from here."

But Alfonso acted like he didn't hear her and pushed her to his car. "Don't worry, it won't delay my work. It's just on my way. At most, you can treat me to a meal next time, and I won't say no."

So, Isabella ended up in Alfonso's car.

From that day on, Alfonso picked her up and dropped her off at work every day. Isabella felt embarrassed, but refusing was pointless since Alfonso wouldn't listen.

A few days later, one evening, Isabella had no choice but to invite Alfonso to dinner to thank him, and Alfonso happily accepted.

After a week of hanging out, Isabella found that Alfonso was not only gentle and elegant but also down-to-earth, with a great temper. He was really caring and considerate towards her. Of course, Isabella just thought he was being kind and had no intention of pursuing her.

After dinner, Alfonso dropped Isabella off downstairs.

"I'll help you up," Alfonso said, looking at Isabella with her crutches.

"No need, I can manage myself." Isabella politely declined.

But Alfonso stepped forward and helped her up without giving her a chance to refuse.

At her door, Isabella took out her key and opened it.

Alfonso glanced inside, and Isabella, feeling a bit awkward, politely asked, "Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee?"

"It's late today, maybe next time." Hearing the invitation, Alfonso's eyes showed a hint of excitement, but he ultimately smiled and declined.

Isabella's invitation was half-hearted. After all, at this hour, the caregiver had left, and it would be awkward for them to be alone in her home.

"I'll be going now, see you tomorrow!" Alfonso said, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

"See you tomorrow." Isabella smiled slightly, accepting the fact that he'd be her daily chauffeur.

After watching Alfonso leave, Isabella was about to close the door.

Suddenly, she noticed a figure standing at the door, startling her. She took a step back, but with her unsteady legs, she stumbled and lost her balance.

Seeing this, the person quickly stepped in and reached out to support her.

Isabella looked up and saw Leon. Still shaken, she asked in surprise, "Why are you here?"

Her words were blunt, making them sting even more for Leon.

Leon snapped, "In just a few days, you've gotten so close to that lawyer. You're really something."

Hearing the sarcasm, Isabella pushed his hand away in annoyance. "What does that have to do with you?"

"You're right, it has nothing to do with me. I'm just kindly reminding you not to let him trick you and keep you in the dark," Leon said, his face grim.

Isabella retorted, "I am willing to be tricked by him, so what?"

Her words made Leon frown. After a moment of hesitation, he finally said, "Do you have any sense of shame?"

"Alfonso and I are both single. We met through a date, and it's perfectly legitimate for us to be together. How is that shameless? Leon, do you think only being with you is right? You have too high an opinion of yourself!" Isabella said angrily.

Leon was so mad he turned in a circle, then walked to the door and kicked over the two large bags he had just placed there.

"Yes, both of you are single. You two are a perfect match. I wish you to cohabit, get married, and quickly reduce the burden on society!" Leon said furiously.

Seeing his furious look, Isabella coldly sneered. "Thanks for the advice. We're planning to move in, get married, and even have kids soon. Maybe you should focus on yourself for a change. After all, you're the one still single!"

With that, Isabella walked to the door with the help of the wall and angrily slammed it shut.

Leon, left outside, was so angry he wanted to punch the door to pieces.

At that moment, the door suddenly opened again.

Isabella threw a manila envelope at Leon, which rolled down his body to the ground.

"This is the money I owe you. We have nothing to do with each other, so I don't need to accept any help from you!" Isabella said firmly.

Leon's face grew darker and darker.

Isabella continued, "And that caregiver, please tell her not to come tomorrow. I now have my boyfriend to take care of me. He is very considerate and attentive. I don't need anyone else to take care of me, and the caregiver will only disturb us and get in the way of our intimacy!"

Isabella deliberately elongated the last sentence, seeing the burning anger in Leon's eyes.

"Isabella, do you have any shame left?" Leon gritted his teeth and said.

"I think the one without shame is you! Why do you keep bringing a bunch of stuff here? Don't you know how much I hate you?" Isabella shouted at Leon.
