Chapter 264 Mommy, Don't Get Married

Susan laughed. "If you don't take advantage of him now, when will you?"

Isabella hugged her and exclaimed, "Susan, you are my bestie, so loyal!"

Isabella noticed Hayden at the dining table, staring at her with big eyes, and walked over.

"Are you Hayden?" she asked kindly.

Hayden just glanced at her, said nothing, and kept eating.

Susan quickly chimed in, "Hayden, be polite. Say hello."

"Hello, Aunt Isabella," Hayden muttered, then went back to his food.

"Good boy," Isabella said, patting his head.

Hayden immediately brushed her hand away, clearly not liking the gesture.

Feeling awkward, Isabella allowed Susan to lead her to the living room.

"Isabella, don't mind Hayden. He's just not used to you," Susan said, noticing his attitude.

"Well, not a problem at all, he's just a kid. But wow, he and Seb are so alike, even in personality!" Isabella replied.

"He's usually well-behaved. I don't know what's up with him today," Susan said, fixing her hair.

Isabella glanced at the dining room and asked quietly, "Are you really marrying George? Since you and Seb have two kids."

Susan's eyes were firm as she stated, "I've made up my mind. Seb and I are done."

Isabella hesitated. "Seb hurt you, but each time had its reasons. Are you sure you won't give him another chance?"

Susan had pondered that question countless times. Yet, despite everything, she and Seb couldn't turn back. She couldn't forgive Seb for lying about Hayden's death, getting involved with Cynthia, and not telling her about Hayden's illness. It was all Seb's fault.

"I've chosen George. No looking back," Susan said firmly.

Isabella nodded. "Alright, let's not dwell on it. Let's go try on wedding dresses!"

"Okay," Susan agreed, picking up her suitcase and heading to the bedroom with Isabella.

Half an hour later, Susan emerged in a white wedding dress, with Isabella holding her long veil. Isabella wore a matching dress, simpler but still beautiful.

Susan looked stunning. The veil and crown added nobility and romance, the dress highlighted her curves, and the silver heels made her look tall and elegant.

When Serenity saw Susan, she couldn't help but exclaim, "Susan, you look so beautiful!"

Spring glanced at Susan, uncertain where to direct her attention, while Hayden fixed a cold, uncharacteristically prolonged gaze on Susan.

After circling Susan, Isabella smiled. "This wedding dress is perfect, no alterations needed."

Susan beamed in return. "You're the most beautiful bridesmaid."

"Of course!" Isabella struck a pose, playfully pinching her waist.

In the afternoon, Isabella left.

Susan carefully hung the wedding dress in the closet and walked out of the bedroom.

Seeing Spring asleep in Serenity's arms, she smiled. "Spring fell asleep?"

"Yes." Serenity nodded.

Susan remembered Hayden and asked, "Where's Hayden?"

"He's playing with toys on the balcony. I'll take Spring to the bedroom," Serenity said softly.

"Okay." Susan nodded.

Watching Serenity carry Spring to the bedroom, Susan turned and walked to the balcony.

Hayden was sitting with his back to her, holding a toy, and she heard him sobbing.

Susan walked over and saw tears on his little face, which surprised her.

Confused, she asked, "Hayden, what's wrong?" She had just seen him seemingly fine, so why the sudden tears? She wondered if he wasn't yet accustomed to this new place.

Hearing her question, Hayden looked up and couldn't hold back anymore, bursting into tears.

His crying made Susan's heart ache. She quickly picked him up and gently patted his back. "Hayden, what's wrong? Are you not used to living here, or do you miss your daddy?"

"Mommy, are you really going to marry that lawyer?" Hayden asked through his sobs.

Susan couldn't help but say, "Hayden, don't be rude!"

Despite his young age, Hayden seemed to understand everything, even knowing that George was a lawyer.

"Mommy, please don't marry him," Hayden pleaded, shaking her arm with his little hands.

"Is this why you're upset?" Susan asked, frowning.

"I'm sad for daddy," Hayden said, pouting, his little face looking dejected.

Susan comforted him, "Hayden, your daddy will have his own happiness, and I will have mine. You're just a child, you don't understand these things. So don't worry about adult matters, just be happy and be yourself, okay?"

"Mommy, I'm grown up now, I understand everything!" Hayden insisted.

Seeing the stubborn Hayden, Susan didn't know what to say.

She thought Hayden was still young, and Spring even more so, so she had overlooked their feelings. But now it seemed Hayden understood everything.

The next moment, Hayden, still crying, grabbed Susan's arm and pleaded, "Mommy, Daddy, Spring, and I are a family. Please don't break us apart, okay?"

Looking at Hayden shaking her arm, Susan frowned deeply. For a moment, she was at a loss for words. She didn't know how to explain or comfort her beloved Hayden.
