Chapter 248 Change of Heart

Susan discreetly reached into her bag, felt the fruit knife, grabbed it, and pulled her hand out.

Her hands were shaking. She hated Seb, but the idea of stabbing him scared her.

Seb was too preoccupied with his aggression to notice. With a deft and silent movement, Susan discreetly flicked out the blade.

His coat was thick, so she aimed for the light blue shirt under the collar.

Gathering all her strength, she raised the knife and stabbed his right shoulder.

Her intention wasn't to end his life, but to teach a lesson. Even in the frenzy of the moment, Susan's mind remained clear and focused.Blood stained Seb's shirt immediately, and Susan was too scared to look.

She dropped the knife and shrank into a corner, trembling.

Seb didn't expect it. He stepped back, looked at his bleeding shoulder, and frowned.

Susan saw shock and disappointment in his eyes. She knew she might have made things worse.

Maybe this wouldn't teach him a lesson but put her in more danger. She regretted it.

Seb pressed his wound and asked, "Do you hate me so much you'd stab me?"

"You forced me!" Susan's hands were still shaking.

"You're heartless. You've really changed," Seb said, shaking his head.

Susan saw the knife at her feet, quickly picked it up, and pointed it at him.

"Don't come closer!" she warned as he approached.

Seb sneered and walked forward until the blade was against his chest.

Seeing he wasn't afraid, Susan pulled back and held the knife to her own neck. "Don't humiliate me, or I'll kill myself!"

She shouted, partly to warn him, partly to convince herself.

"You're trying to stay loyal to George, aren't you?" Seb yelled, veins bulging on his forehead.

His shouting was deafening. He grabbed her wrist, twisted it, and made her drop the knife.

The knife clattered to the floor.

Seb pinned her hands against the wall above her head, and Susan screamed.

"He can make you happy, and so can I!" Seb growled.

He kissed her forcefully. She struggled, making muffled sounds.

Seb was like a raging lion. Susan felt suffocated, ashamed, and furious. Was she really going to be assaulted here?

Footsteps approached—sounded like a woman in heels and a child.

Desperate, Susan slapped Seb, hoping to attract attention.

But Seb didn't care who was outside. No one could stop him.

The woman outside heard the noise and listened closely.

"Mom, what's that sound?" a little girl asked.

The woman listened for a moment, then covered her daughter's ears. "Have some decency! This is a public place with kids around. Disgusting!"

"Mom, what are they doing in there?" the girl persisted.

A shadow passed over the woman's face. "Stop with the questions. Let's get out of here. What crappy luck!"She took the girl's hand and left.

Seb seemed a bit ashamed and loosened his grip.

Susan seized the chance, pushed him hard, hitting his wound. Seb staggered back.

She quickly unlocked the door and stumbled out of the restroom.

"Susan," Seb called, frowning as she ran, but she only ran faster.

Susan reached the busy street, gasping for breath, and looked back. Seeing Seb hadn't followed, she sighed in relief.

In the crowded street, she felt safer. Even if Seb caught up, she wouldn't be afraid.

It felt like a nightmare. Seb had reappeared in her life. She thought after ten months of not visiting Spring, he had forgotten about her. Yet he showed up again, not a single inquiry about Spring, leaving her heartbroken.

What kind of person was Seb? Had she misjudged him? He hadn't cared about his daughter for over ten months.

Now he was entangling her again. When would he let her go? Susan was extremely annoyed, hating her own weakness. She should have stabbed him in a vital spot—not to kill, but to send him to the hospital. Even if she had to serve time, Seb might leave her alone.

After calming down, Susan dragged her tired body into a large supermarket.

Life had to go on. Spring needed to grow, and the days had to continue. She had errands to run. If she didn't sort things out soon, there would be no one around to assist with Spring tomorrow when Serenity left.
