Chapter 578 Stop It, I'm Really Tired

That night, Seb came out of the bathroom after a shower and suddenly noticed Susan's lower lip was extremely red. He couldn't help but ask, "What happened to your lip?"

Susan had been annoyed all evening. In the taxi, she had wiped her lips too hard with a tissue, almost peeling off a layer of skin. She knew it would be hard to explain if he saw it.

So, Susan gave the reason she had already thought of. "I burned my mouth drinking coffee today. It was too hot, and I didn't notice."

Hearing this, Seb was both amused and annoyed. He chided, "You're in your thirties and you still manage to burn your mouth drinking coffee?"

"You don't comfort me when I'm hurt, and you blame me?" Susan could only act coy at this moment, though she felt disgusted inside. Just thinking about Andrew's mouth made her want to vomit.

'Feelings are really strange. Back when we were in love, a kiss was sweet. Now that the love is gone, a kiss disgusts me.' she thought.

In the end, maybe it was because Andrew had character issues. If it were George who kissed her today, how would she react?

Susan didn't know why she was so lost in thought today, feeling restless.

But if it were George who kissed her today, she would probably slap him too, but she wouldn't feel that nauseating urge to vomit.

Seeing Susan turn her back, Seb smiled and stepped forward to hug her waist.

Not feeling any reaction from her for a long time, Seb tried to appease her, saying, "Are you really angry?"

Snapping back to reality from her wandering thoughts, Susan quickly responded, "No, I'm just a bit tired and want to sleep."

"Then let's sleep now!" Seb's big hands immediately took action.

Seeing that he was hinting at making love, Susan had no interest and pushed him away. "Stop it, I'm really tired."

Hearing this, Seb looked at her with concern and asked, "What's wrong with you today? Are you feeling unwell?"

"I'm just a bit tired. Can we sleep early? Just sleep, nothing else." Susan looked at Seb pitifully.

Although Seb was disappointed, he lay back down, holding her hand. "Alright, we won't do anything else. Let's just sleep."

After the lights were turned off, Susan didn't hear him speak for a long time, so she looked at him under the moonlight from outside.

She saw that he had closed his eyes, but she didn't hear his usual even breathing when he was asleep.

Knowing he wasn't asleep, she gently squeezed his fingers and softly asked, "Are you mad?"

"I'm not as petty as you." Seb opened his eyes and looked at Susan.

"Who's petty?" Susan playfully retorted.

Seb's long arm wrapped around her, pulling her into his embrace.

His embrace was broad, warm, and elastic. Susan held his waist, quietly lying in his arms, feeling the happiness of the moment.

"Is Andrew still trying to undermine you at work?" Susan suddenly asked.

She wanted to hold back but couldn't. She had to remind Seb not to underestimate Andrew.

Seb laughed and said, "Don't worry. In Prosperity Group, I'm like a towering tree, and he's just a small grass. No matter how hard he tries, he can't block my sunlight."

"Such big talk." Susan laughed and pinched Seb's nose.

Although he might be exaggerating, given Seb's many years at Prosperity Group, Andrew shouldn't be able to stir up trouble easily. She was only worried that Carol might support Andrew. After all, Carol was the chairman, and the high-level executives and influential directors of Prosperity Group were her people. But Seb was her son, and Andrew couldn't compare to Seb, right?

"By the way, Mom's birthday is coming up. She's been unhappy lately, and I want to throw her a birthday party," Seb suddenly said.

Hearing this, Susan thought for a moment and said, "That's great. I'll pick a gift for you to take. After all, your mom doesn't want to see me, so I won't spoil her mood."

Seb understood the current situation and patted Susan's hand. "I'll talk to her. Maybe this could be a fresh start."

"Okay." Susan nodded.

The night was deep, and the two of them soon fell asleep in each other's arms.

The next afternoon, Andrew hurriedly came back from outside.

As soon as he stepped into the living room, Andrew saw Carol sitting on the couch with a cold face. He couldn't help but nervously ask, "Mom, why did you call me back so urgently?"

Carol's sharp eyes fell on Andrew, scrutinizing him. "Andrew, I've treated you better than Seb, but I didn't expect you to be such a hypocrite!"

Hearing this, Andrew was terrified and cautiously asked, "Mom, I don't understand what you mean. Has something happened?"

Carol took out two photos from her bag and threw them on the coffee table with a fierce hand!

Seeing the two photos scattered on the coffee table, Andrew suspiciously picked them up. When he looked down, he was shocked.

At this moment, Carol stood up abruptly, pointing at Andrew and angrily scolding, "Andrew, if I hadn't seen these two photos with my own eyes, I wouldn't believe you had an affair with Susan! What kind of sin have we committed? Susan and her mother have repeatedly tried to sabotage both my marriage and Rylee's marriage. Seb is being played by this woman, and Todd is infatuated with Susan's mother. And you, how can you face Rylee and me, your mother-in-law who has always supported you?"

Seeing the photos in his hand, Andrew was scared out of his wits.

The photos showed him and Susan kissing on Maple Valley Bridge. He didn't understand. He and Susan had only met on a whim that day, and Maple Valley Bridge was in the suburbs of Maple Valley, where there weren't many people. They had only kissed briefly. How could someone have taken photos?

At this moment, Andrew quickly ran to Carol, knelt down, and pleaded, "Mom, I know I was wrong. Please let me explain."

Seeing Andrew crying, Carol's mood calmed a bit. She sat down and said, "Alright, let's hear your so-called explanation."

The next moment, Andrew's eyes shifted, and he said, "The photos are real. That day, Susan called and asked me to meet her at Maple Valley Bridge."
