Chapter 628 I Won't Bother You Again in the Future
"As long as Susan is okay, my own matters, hmph, they don't matter," George sneered.
"George, don't talk nonsense!" Susan stopped George.
Seb stared coldly at George and said, "So it seems Susan's pleas on your behalf were misguided."
Hearing this, George looked at Susan and said, "Susan, don't worry about my matters."
"How can I not worry? I don't want you to be implicated because of me," Susan said anxiously.
George replied, "I've already said, my own matters don't matter. Even if I can't be a lawyer, I'll find other work."
Seeing George's stubborn look, Susan frowned and said, "Can you stop talking nonsense? Do you think getting a master's degree in law was easy? Years of hard work, and you're willing to throw it all away? George, listen to me. If you can't practice law because of this, I'll never forgive myself!"
Susan was really at her wit's end. Her attempt to appeal to Seb's better nature was backfiring, and George's defiance was only making things worse. She was afraid that George would further anger Seb, making things even harder to resolve.
"Susan, you don't need to be afraid of him. He can't do anything to me!" George pointed at Seb.
Susan tightened her brows, feeling that the resentment between George and Seb was too deep.
At this moment, Seb smiled, turned around, and sat on a chair, saying, "I didn't expect you to have such ambition. I want to see what the worst outcome for you could be!"
Susan looked at Seb and then at George, knowing that it was all because of her that they were at odds.
The next moment, Susan said to George, "George, don't disturb my life anymore. I will never see you again!"
Hearing this, Seb stared at Susan, while George's expression showed some pain.
The next moment, George said painfully, "Susan, ever since I realized you couldn't love me back, I never once acted inappropriately. All I ever wanted was your happiness, your safety. I looked out for you, cared for you... was that so wrong?"
George's painful eyes made Susan feel very uncomfortable. Although she understood that George was probably telling the truth, now it concerned his personal reputation and future. She could only harden her heart and sever all ties with him in front of Seb. Otherwise, with Seb's personality, he would definitely not let George go.
The next moment, Susan resolutely said to George, "I know that without your help all these years, I don't know what would have happened. But your help has brought me a great burden. I'm really tired. George, it's better for us to draw a clear line from now on."
George took two steps back, looked at Susan with pained eyes for a while, and then said, "Fine, since I made you tired, I will completely draw a line with you. I won't disturb your life anymore."
After saying that, George turned and left sadly.
Watching George's departing figure, tears flowed from Susan's eyes.
Seb had been sitting on the chair, coldly watching everything, including Susan sitting on the hospital bed in tears.
Susan wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes and then said, "Are you satisfied now? Can you show some mercy and let George go?"
Seb didn't speak but slowly stood up.
After not hearing him speak for a while, Susan looked up at him. She saw that his eyes were deeply staring at her, and his brows were furrowed, as if he had some grievance to express. But when he met Susan's eyes, he still shifted his gaze elsewhere.
The next moment, Seb said, "Fine, as you wish. I will clear up all the false accusations against George as soon as possible."
After saying that, Seb turned to leave.
Susan, however, looked at his back and said, "Make it quick!"
Hearing this, Seb looked up at the ceiling, sighed, and said with his back to Susan, "I'm not a miracle worker, Susan. These things take time."
Hearing this, Susan fell silent.
Seeing his lonely back, Susan felt a bit regretful. Maybe she was pushing him too hard, or her words were not very friendly, and she didn't consider his feelings. But he was the instigator of all this. If she was careless, George's future and reputation would be ruined.
"Then please handle it as soon as possible," Susan said.
Seb hesitated for a moment, then walked out of the ward.
After Seb left, Susan's tense nerves relaxed, and she felt extremely tired. She then lay on the pillow, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.
As soon as Seb walked out of the hospital, Leon came up to him.
"Mr. Anderson, how is Ms. Wilson?"
"She's fine," Seb said.
"That's good. You scared me," Leon said with a sigh of relief.
"How's the investigation I asked you to do?" Seb asked as he walked quickly.
Leon quickly replied, "It's all clear. Andrew was behind everything."
Hearing this, Seb immediately stopped, squinting his eyes. "Andrew? Does he have a grudge against George? Why go to such lengths to ruin George?"
"I think he was targeting you," Leon analyzed.
Seb thought for a moment and immediately instructed, "Find a way to resolve this matter immediately. George's reputation must be restored!"
Hearing this, Leon frowned. "Mr. Anderson, didn't you say this wasn't our concern and we should just watch?"
"I've changed my mind now, okay?" Seb glared at Leon.
"Okay, okay." Leon knew this had something to do with Susan, so he quickly went to handle it.
After Leon left, Seb walked quickly down the street.
His brows were furrowed, his lips tightly pressed together, and his hands clenched into fists, his whole body tense.
When he reached a basketball court and saw a few teenagers playing, he immediately ran over and joined them.
As he played, it turned into Seb's solo performance. He dunked repeatedly, with perfect, graceful, and beautiful moves, and a high accuracy rate. It seemed as if he had a grudge against the basketball, not just playing it but beating it.
On the basketball court, Seb's graceful dunks continuously won cheers and applause from the surrounding people.
