Chapter 806 Good Brother

Hearing that, Susan went quiet, her hands resting on his chest.

Indeed, she had left so much stuff at his place; it was way too easy for him to think about her.

Noting her silence, Seb reached out, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and suddenly said, "You don't need to see me off at the airport later."

"Why?" Susan asked, looking up, clearly surprised.

He had to get to the airport an hour and a half early, and Susan was hoping to squeeze in some extra time with him.

Seeing her confused look, Seb explained, "I'm not good with farewells; they're just too sad."

Hearing that, Susan snuggled into his arms.

Honestly, she hated goodbyes too. Just thinking about it made her feel awful.

Susan knew he didn't want to see her all sad, let alone crying.

Seb then tightened his arms around her, holding her close, his chin resting on her head. He took a deep breath and said, "Let's say our goodbyes here. When we go downstairs later, I don't want to bring down Hayden and Spring's mood, okay?"

"Okay." Susan nodded firmly in Seb's arms because she felt the same way. She was afraid she wouldn't be able to keep it together. It turned out he had already thought about all this, which touched her deeply.

The next moment, Susan suddenly looked up, cupped his face with her hands, and kissed him passionately!

This time, Seb didn't take the lead; he just let her kiss him.

After a while, Susan pulled back and frowned, asking, "Why aren't you into it at all?"

Seb held her waist with both hands and said deeply, "I want to fully feel your passion."

Hearing that, Susan pursed her lips and smiled, blushing as she muttered, "You jerk!"

The next moment, Seb lowered his head and kissed her back, turning passive into active.

An hour later, Seb led a blushing Susan downstairs.

By then, Hayden and Spring were already up, washed, and Kathy had laid out a big breakfast on the dining table.

Once Susan and Seb sat down with the kids, Hayden looked at Seb with great reluctance and said, "Daddy, are you flying back to Maple Valley right after breakfast?"

Hearing that, Seb looked at Hayden with reluctance, then touched his cheek and said, "After I leave, you need to listen to Mommy and Kathy, and study hard, okay?"

Hayden raised his chin and said, "I will definitely study hard. But how long will Mommy stay here with Spring and me?"

Hearing that, Susan and Seb exchanged a glance.

They had already talked about this.

The next moment, Seb answered, "Mommy will stay here with you through the spring, then she has to go back to work for a bit. I'll come over to spend the summer holidays with you."

Susan and Seb had agreed to take turns staying with Hayden and Spring for a while, then let Kathy and Mary take care of them for a bit. This way, the two years would pass, and after two years, Seb would bring Hayden and Spring back, and their family of four could reunite. Hopefully, by then, Seb would have fully come to terms with everything.

This arrangement was intended to prevent them from being in the same city, where they would miss each other even more and possibly run into each other.

So, Susan came up with this plan. When she was in Maple Valley, he'd be in Aelistania; and when she was in Aelistania, he'd be in Maple Valley. This way, they could both relax, knowing they wouldn't accidentally run into each other.

At first, when Seb heard this idea, he thought about it for a long time, feeling that she was drastically reducing their chances of ever meeting.

"Really? That's awesome!" Hayden was super happy to hear that Seb and Susan would take turns staying with them.

But Spring frowned. "But I want both Daddy and Mommy to stay with us."

Hearing this, Hayden said to Spring, "You're too greedy. It's good enough to have one of them with us. The other has to work to make money, you know? Otherwise, how would we afford to buy you beautiful dresses and dolls?"

Hearing this, Spring looked down at her pink lace dress. Even though she was reluctant, she said, "I don't want dresses or dolls; I just want Daddy and Mommy to stay with us!"

Seeing Spring's pout and the reluctance in her eyes, Susan felt really sad.

But she also felt warm because she and Seb were the most important to Spring.

At that moment, Hayden patted his chest and said, "With me here, you should be content. Don't ask for too much. At worst, I'll let you have your way in the future!"

"Really?" Hearing this, Spring's eyes immediately lit up with excitement. "You mean I can play with your toys? And read your storybooks? And share your favorite chocolates?"

"No problem!" Although Hayden was reluctant to part with his favorite things, he still pretended to be generous and nodded.

"Thank you, Hayden." The next moment, Spring jumped off her chair, ran to Hayden, hugged his neck, and gave him a big kiss on the cheek.

"Hey, you got slobber all over my face!" Hayden immediately wiped his face but couldn't hide the joy, grinning from ear to ear.

"Let me wipe it for you." Spring, being adorable, grabbed a tissue and started wiping Hayden's face.

Seeing this scene, Susan and Seb were touched by their adorable sibling bond and smiled deeply at them.

At that moment, Seb held Susan's hand and said with a smile, "When Hayden grows up, he'll definitely be a good brother."

"Looks like we don't need to worry about Spring," Susan laughed.

The next moment, Seb suddenly lowered his head, frowning deeply.

"What's wrong?" Noticing Seb's unease, Susan asked with concern.

Seb hesitated for a moment, not looking up, his voice already choked. "I wasn't a good brother. Mom's gone, and I didn't take good care of Rylee."

Hearing this, Susan's expression also turned serious.

Rylee's death had a huge impact on Seb. He had never gotten over the grief of Rylee's passing. Susan knew that in the dead of night, he often dreamed of Rylee.
