Chapter 930 Blind Date

She spotted a familiar figure downstairs right away.

The guy was rocking a black suit with a crisp white shirt. He had two big grocery bags in his hands, and the caregiver was standing in front of him.

Seeing Leon down there, Isabella frowned. 'Wasn't he supposed to stay away? What's he doing here today?' she thought.

A moment later, she guessed Leon was giving some instructions to the caregiver, who kept nodding.

Finally, Leon handed over the grocery bags to the caregiver, who smiled at him and then headed upstairs.

Isabella quickly hobbled back to her bedroom with her crutch.

After sitting on the bed for a minute, she heard the front door open.

The caregiver's voice echoed through the house.

"Ms. Brown, the beef and sea bass I got today are super fresh. Aren't those your favorites? I'll cook them up for you right away!"

Isabella shouted towards the bedroom door, "You were only out for a few minutes, and you came back with all that stuff?"

Earlier, she saw the two big bags Leon handed to the caregiver were packed with food and drinks. 'Wasn't he mad at me? Why is he bringing me food and drinks now, and not letting the caregiver tell her?' she wondered.

The caregiver slowly walked to the bedroom door and cautiously said, "Ms. Brown, actually, Mr. Johnson brought these things."

Hearing her admit it, Isabella was about to speak.

Unexpectedly, the caregiver said with a troubled expression, "Ms. Brown, I know you don't want anything from Mr. Johnson, and you don't want me to have any contact with him, but I'm really in a tough spot. After all, Mr. Johnson hired me, and I really have no choice. Ms. Brown, I won't get involved in your matters with Mr. Johnson in the future, please don't make it hard for me. It's not easy for me to make a living."

Seeing the caregiver's troubled look, Isabella felt uncomfortable. The caregiver had been diligent in taking care of her, and she had a heavy family burden. Naturally, Isabella didn't want to make things difficult for her.

So, Isabella then said, "Go ahead and do your work."

"Okay." Hearing this, the caregiver happily turned to cook.

Isabella, however, sat on the bed with a troubled expression, curious about what Leon was up to.

The next morning, Isabella was sitting in her office.

Maria saw Isabella's leg in a cast and frowned. "Isabella, you don't need to rush here with your limited mobility. I can handle everything, you can rest assured."

"It's just that staying at home is really boring. I can do some work and take my mind off things here," Isabella said with a smile.

"True, it's been really dull with just me and the receptionist these days." Maria laughed.

At that moment, the owner of the neighboring beauty salon came rushing in.

Seeing Isabella, she exclaimed, "Oh, Ms. Brown, I heard you broke your leg. I was so worried. Are you okay?"

"No, it's just that muscle and bone injuries take a long time to heal." The doctor had told Isabella to rest for three months before she could move freely.

"That's good to hear." The beauty salon owner nodded, then switched gears. "Ms. Brown, my cousin I mentioned last time is free tonight. How about you meet him?"

Isabella was taken aback. With her leg in a cast, how could she go on a blind date? Besides, who would want to date her in this state?

Sensing Isabella's hesitation, the beauty salon owner seemed to read her mind and quickly added with a smile, "My cousin isn't like most guys. I've told him about your situation, and he's still very eager to meet you."

Isabella was about to refuse, but the owner's persistent persuasion wore her down, especially when she said, "Isabella, you're not getting any younger. It's normal to go on a blind date. You don't already have someone in mind, do you?"

Feeling a bit guilty, Isabella quickly clarified, "Of course not."

"Great. It's settled then. Tonight at 6:30 PM at Daily Bites Restaurant. Be there on time!" With that, the owner left with a smile.

It took Isabella a moment to process what had just happened.

How did she end up agreeing to a blind date so impulsively? She had no intention of finding a boyfriend, and with her leg in a cast, she regretted it deeply. But it was too late to back out now.

With no other choice, Isabella had the caregiver take her to Daily Bites Restaurant before 6:30 PM.

Isabella arrived five minutes early and sat by a window, watching the street lights outside. She thought, 'It's just a formality. I heard he's a lawyer who studied abroad. He probably won't be interested in me. At most, I'll pay for half the meal.'

As she was lost in thought, a man walked into the restaurant, glanced around, and then headed towards her.

With her leg in a cast, Isabella was quite noticeable.

"Are you Ms. Brown?" A smooth male voice snapped Isabella out of her thoughts.

Looking up, Isabella was stunned.

The man in front of her was incredibly handsome, with a tall and straight posture, exuding elegance.

He wore gold-rimmed glasses, had chiseled features, deep eyes, and looked about thirty-three or thirty-four years old. His every move was graceful and composed.

Isabella had expected the beauty salon owner's cousin to be an ordinary-looking guy, but she hadn't anticipated he had such an impressive appearance and demeanor.

"Oh, yes." The next moment, Isabella quickly composed herself and nodded.

Alfonso Carr turned and sat down in front of her.

"Ms. Brown, have you ordered?" Alfonso asked with a smile.

"Oh, no," Isabella replied.

Alfonso glanced at her, then took the menu, scanned it, asked if she had any dietary restrictions, and then ordered.

While waiting for the food, Alfonso got straight to the point. "Hey, I'm Alfonso. I'm thirty-four and a lawyer. I just got back from Averlake last year after working there for a few years, which kind of put my love life on hold. My cousin told me about you and mentioned you're really amazing and straightforward."
