Chapter 766 He Was Not Back Yet
Under Susan's persistent questioning, Hayden finally said, "Mommy, I feel that Miss Thorne isn't genuinely nice to us."
"What do you mean?" Susan asked Hayden, puzzled.
"She always asks me about Daddy. Spring's too little to tell her anything." Hayden replied.
"What does Miss Thorne ask you about Daddy?" Susan frowned and continued to ask.
"She asks about Daddy's company, his likes, and his relationship with you," Hayden said.
Hearing this, Susan tightly furrowed.
Cecilia was young, beautiful, and talented, Susan used to think Cecilia was just arrogant, which was why she was cold and hostile towards her. But now, hearing Hayden's words, Susan seemed to understand a bit. Could it be that Cecilia had feelings for Seb?
The next moment, Hayden anxiously grabbed Susan's clothes and asked, "Mommy, I accidentally told Miss Thorne about your divorce with Daddy. Do you think I talked too much?"
"It's okay, many people know about my divorce with your Daddy." Seeing Hayden's guilty look, Susan quickly patted Hayden's head.
"But I haven't told her anything else lately. It just feels weird, like she wants something. Mommy, can't we just get a new tutor? I don't like her." Hayden tugged at Susan's clothes.
Hearing this, Susan looked at Hayden, who was staring at her, and after a long time, she said, "Hayden, be good. I will discuss this with your Daddy, but you must not tell anyone about this, including Spring, okay?"
"Okay." Hayden obediently nodded.
"Now let's go out and see if your Daddy is back." Then, Susan took Hayden's hand and walked out of the bedroom.
Susan felt very uncomfortable at this moment. After coming to Northstar City, she enjoyed the days of their family of four being together, but she didn't expect to encounter a tutor who had designs on Seb, which really ruined her good mood.
No wonder Cecilia sarcastically called her old and hinted that Hayden and Spring's guardian was Seb. It turned out that she meant to say that Susan was divorced from Seb and not as young and beautiful as Cecilia.
However, Susan wasn't too panicked. She trusted Seb. He'd encountered his fair share of attractive women, and while Cecilia was undeniably alluring, Susan doubted she posed a real threat.
But a part of her couldn't help but feel a surge of resentment towards Cecilia. It wasn't entirely the young woman's fault, of course. She and Seb were divorced, and he was free to pursue whomever he chose.
Thinking of this, Susan's heart sank a bit.
Susan took Hayden's hand and returned to the dining room. Seeing that Seb hadn't come back yet, she took out her phone and made a call.
The phone rang many times, but no one answered.
Susan couldn't help but frown. Why wasn't he answering the phone? How could it take so long to drive Cecilia home? Could something have happened?
At this time, Susan quickly said to Mary, "Mary, call Miss Thorne and ask if Seb has dropped her off and if he has come back."
"Okay." Mary quickly responded and went to get the landline to make the call.
But a few minutes later, Mary frowned and said to Susan, "Ms. Wilson, Miss Thorne is not answering the phone."
Hearing this, Susan began to feel uneasy.
Seb and Cecilia should be together. Why weren't they answering the phone? Did something happen, or did Seb and Cecilia go somewhere else?
The roads in Northstar City were wide, with fewer cars than back home, there shouldn't be any accidents. After all, she knew Seb's driving skills.
Thinking about how Cecilia enthusiastically said she wanted to talk to Seb about Hayden and Spring's education, maybe they were discussing something and didn't answer the phone, or maybe they found a café or restaurant to sit down and talk.
Seb was a person who respected teachers, so he might have courteously invited Cecilia for a meal, and Cecilia would naturally be more than happy.
For a moment, Susan felt very jealous.
"Mommy, why isn't Daddy back yet?" At this time, Spring was probably hungry, so she couldn't help but ask.
Hearing this, Susan looked at Spring, then at Hayden, whose eyes were wide with hunger, and said to Kathy, "Kathy, let's start dinner. Hayden and Spring are hungry."
"Okay," Kathy responded and quickly went to the kitchen to bring out the hot dishes.
After the dishes were placed on the dining table, Susan took care of Hayden and Spring during dinner.
Even after Hayden and Spring were full, Seb still hadn't come back.
Naturally, Susan had no appetite, so she barely ate.
In the evening, while Susan was sitting on the sofa watching cartoons with Hayden and Spring, footsteps were heard in the foyer.
Actually, how could Susan focus on the cartoons? Her eyes were on the TV screen, but her mind was elsewhere.
When Seb walked in, Spring quickly ran over.
Spring hugged Seb's leg and looked up, asking, "Daddy, why are you back so late? Did you drop Miss Thorne off?"
Seb looked down at Spring, and before he could answer, Susan couldn't help but speak sarcastically.
"Who knows? By now, he could have driven her all the way to Cobblestone City."
Hearing this, Seb's eyes fell on Susan, who had a stern face.
Then, he patted Spring's head and said to Hayden, who was watching cartoons on the sofa, "Hayden, take Spring to play games."
"I want to watch cartoons." Hayden's eyes remained on the TV screen.
Seeing this, Seb bent down, picked up Spring, walked to the sofa, and placed her in front of Hayden, saying, "Spring, be good, sit here and watch cartoons with Hayden."
"Okay." Spring was very obedient. After all, cartoons attract every child.
Seeing that Seb was ignoring her, Susan became even more annoyed!
As soon as Susan stood up, Seb grabbed her wrist.
"What are you doing?" Susan glared at Seb.
"Why are you so fierce? Like a tigress." Seb said this with a grin.
At this moment, Susan coldly stared at Seb for a long time.
