Chapter 1093 Begging for Mercy
Daryl glanced at Cecilia, then sat down across from her and said abruptly, "You need energy after eating."
After saying that, Daryl lowered his head and started eating ravenously.
Seeing Daryl gobbling down his food, Cecilia frowned and said, "Slow down, no one's going to take it from you!"
"If I don't hurry, there won't be enough time," Daryl replied.
Hearing this, Cecilia turned to look at the clock on the wall and said, "It's still early!"
After speaking, she lowered her head to drink her milk.
A few minutes later, Daryl finished eating.
Daryl looked up at Cecilia and asked, "Are you full?"
"Yes." Cecilia nodded, then took a napkin to wipe her mouth.
At this moment, Daryl suddenly stood up, walked over to Cecilia, and then bent down to lift her from the chair.
"What are you doing?" Cecilia, now in his arms, quickly patted his shoulder and looked at Daryl in surprise.
"Revenge," Daryl said, then pressed her down onto the wide couch.
Hearing this, Cecilia was shocked.
No wonder he said something about needing energy after eating and being in a hurry earlier; he was planning this all along.
"No, I have to go to school, let me go!" Cecilia struggled continuously.
However, Daryl was unmoved and held Cecilia tightly, kissing her.
In a panic, Cecilia reached out and yanked Daryl's tie.
Daryl, choked by the tie, let out a painful groan and released Cecilia.
Taking advantage of the situation, Cecilia pushed Daryl away, jumped off the couch, grabbed her backpack, and ran towards the door.
"Stop!" Daryl coughed twice, sitting on the couch and frowning as he shouted.
Cecilia peeked back from the entrance and mischievously said, "I'm going to school, pour yourself a glass of water!"
Hearing this, Daryl's eyes turned fierce as he said, "Cecilia, just wait until tonight!"
"That will have to wait until tonight." Cecilia stuck out her tongue at Daryl and then turned and ran out.
After Cecilia left, Daryl felt both angry and amused. He pulled off his tie, reached for a glass, poured himself some water, and drank it all in one gulp.
However, at this moment, a smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.
That night, Daryl naturally didn't let Cecilia off the hook, and Cecilia could only beg for mercy.
However, Cecilia learned to show weakness, and whenever she did, Daryl would feel protective of her, so he often let her off.
In the days that followed, Cecilia lived a relatively happy life. She and Daryl got along like most couples, living together. They experienced the sweetness of an ordinary couple and occasionally quarreled and joked.
The only difference was that neither of them would say "I love you" to the other, nor would they look forward to the future, because they both understood that there was no future between them. They only had a contract and a year of time together.
Time flew by, and three months passed in the blink of an eye.
Northstar City entered the height of summer, with scorching sun and heat everywhere.
One day, Daryl received an overseas call while sitting in his office.
"Daryl, are you at work?" As soon as the call connected, Azalea Gray's voice came through.
"Mom, I'm at the office. How come you have time to call today? Aren't you playing cards?" Hearing it was Azalea, Daryl immediately smiled.
Azalea laughed. "I just got back from shopping and I'm a bit tired, so I'll play cards tomorrow. By the way, I have some big news for you."
"What big news?" Daryl frowned and asked.
"Skylar Tate is coming to Northstar City to see you," Azalea replied.
Hearing this, Daryl's eyes showed a hint of surprise. "Mom, what did you say? Skylar is coming to Northstar City? When did this happen?"
Hearing Daryl's surprised tone, Azalea laughed. "She's been on the plane for several hours now. She should land in three or four hours. She didn't want me to tell you because she wanted to surprise you, but I thought I'd give you a heads-up so you wouldn't be caught off guard. If you have any mistresses over there, you'd better be careful not to upset Skylar."
"Mom, Skylar and I..." Daryl started to say something.
But Azalea interrupted him, "Daryl, our families are well-matched, and Skylar's grandfather helped your dad in the past. We can't forget that kindness. Besides, both our families fully support you two being together. Why not give it a try with Skylar? She hasn't had a boyfriend all these years because she's been waiting for you."
"Alright, Mom, I got it," Daryl said, a bit impatiently.
"Daryl, be honest with me. Do you have a girl you like in Northstar City?" Azalea pressed.
Hearing this, Daryl loosened his tie and firmly replied, "No."
Hearing this, Azalea was pleased and said, "That's good. You should give it a try with Skylar. She's cute, sensible, and generous. Most importantly, her family background matches ours, and she's deeply in love with you. I won't agree to you marrying anyone else but Skylar."
Daryl frowned slightly and then said, "Mom, I have to go. I need to finish my work and then head to the airport to pick up Skylar."
Hearing this, Azalea quickly smiled and nodded, "Yes, you should spend some quality time with her!"
Then the call ended.
Daryl leaned back in his leather chair, his eyes gazing at the blue sky and white clouds outside the window.
In the airport terminal, Daryl, dressed in an off-white suit, stood at the exit.
After a while, a beautiful girl in a dress walked out of the exit.
"Daryl?" Seeing Daryl standing in front of her, Skylar was so surprised she couldn't close her mouth.
At this moment, Daryl turned and took a bouquet of flowers from Douglas behind him, then handed it to Skylar and said with a smile, "Skylar, welcome to Northstar City."
Hearing this, Skylar looked down at the bouquet in front of her, took it excitedly, smelled it, and then smiled. "Thank you, Daryl."
"Let's go," Daryl said, then turned and put his arm around Skylar's shoulder, and the two walked out of the airport, chatting and laughing.
After getting into the car, Skylar smiled and asked, "Daryl, did Mrs. Fields leak the news that I was coming to Northstar City?"
Hearing this, Daryl smiled and nodded, confirming it.
Getting the answer, Skylar, holding the bouquet, frowned and said, "Mrs. Fields, I have told her repeatedly not to tell you I was coming to Northstar City, but she still did."
