Chapter 378 Annoying
"Alrighty." Mary dropped what she was doing, dashed over, and scooped Spring from Susan's arms.
Mary plopped Spring into the stroller, and Susan carefully placed Spring's water bottle in the stroller, gave Spring a peck on the cheek, and said, "Spring, be good and catch some rays with Mary. I'll come find you later."
Spring nodded right away.
Once Mary wheeled Spring away, Susan finally plopped down at the dining table to chow down.
By the time Susan finished eating, Seb was done too.
Seb stayed put at the table, nose deep in the newspaper, while Susan started clearing the table.
Even though Seb's eyes were on the paper, his mind was tracking Susan's every move. He'd sneak a peek at her now and then, feeling a weird kind of joy watching her hustle around. Maybe this was what home felt like, and his heart felt right at home.
In the kitchen, Susan was hunched over the sink, scrubbing dishes, her mind wandering to how she'd introduce Isabella to Leon. She was so lost in thought she didn't hear the footsteps behind her.
Suddenly, Susan felt a tight squeeze around her waist, followed by a warm body hugging her from behind.
"Aren't you working today?" Susan asked, still scrubbing away.
Even though it was the weekend, Seb usually didn't take days off. He'd either be at the office working overtime or checking out different branches or construction sites of Prosperity Group. He was a workaholic, practically a poster child for dedication.
"I'll head out later," Seb replied, then started planting kisses on her neck.
"What are you doing? That tickles," Susan giggled, trying to push Seb away while scrunching her neck, but her hands were all soapy.
Seb kept kissing her neck and murmured in a husky voice, "You keep washing; don't mind me."
"Cut it out," Susan laughed, finding it impossible to push him away or keep washing the dishes.
Seeing her helpless look, Seb's eyes darkened with desire, and his kisses turned hot and wild.
After a bit, Susan leaned back into him.
When Susan was also out of breath, Seb suddenly grabbed her hand.
He guided her hand under the faucet, rinsing them. He squeezed some dish soap onto her hand and started rubbing it in.
Seb's fingers moved back and forth on hers, and Susan's heart felt like it was melting.
His hands were so gentle, strong, and warm. Watching their hands under the faucet, a smile crept onto her lips, and a warm feeling surged in her heart.
Soon, the water washed away all the grease and soap. Seb grabbed a kitchen towel and thoroughly dried her hands.
Then, Susan took the towel and started drying Seb's big hands.
Seb quietly looked down at her, his eyes full of her.
After drying his hands, Susan hadn't even put the towel back when Seb suddenly scooped her up in his arms!
"What are you doing?" Susan yelped, feeling dizzy.
"Upstairs, got something to tell you," Seb said, looking down at her, then headed for the stairs.
"Why can't you just say it here?" Susan wrapped her arms around his neck, already knowing exactly what Seb was up to.
Even though Seb's teasing had her all flustered, she kept her cool.
Seb didn't bother answering and carried her straight up the stairs.
He walked into the master bedroom, kicked the door shut with his foot, and eagerly pressed her onto the bed.
"What are you doing?" Susan's face was already turning red, even though she knew the answer.
"You know exactly what I'm doing," Seb whispered in her ear.
Susan was instantly both embarrassed and annoyed. "Get away."
Then, Seb started making love to her.
"Did you lock the door?" Susan suddenly pushed his shoulder and asked urgently at a critical moment.
His eyes flashed. "Hayden won't be back for a while."
"But what about Kathy?" Susan pushed against his chest.
"Kathy's not that clueless," Seb continued.
Susan, however, wasn't convinced. "No way!"
Seb had no choice but to pause, get up, and lock the door.
Then, he stood by the bed, staring intently at Susan, but didn't move for a long time.
Finally, Susan couldn't take it anymore. She swallowed and urged, "What are you staring at?"
"Just looking at you," Seb's eyes were burning.
"Get over here!" Susan couldn't help but call out.
Seeing her shy look, Seb leaned forward, looked down at her, and said very seriously, "I love you."
Hearing this out of the blue, Susan was stunned!
She and Seb had been tangled in love and hate for so many years. Except for one time when Seb had to express his feelings, he had never said those words.
Susan knew Seb wasn't great at expressing himself, but she still wanted to hear those words, especially after everything they'd been through. She wanted to hear those long-awaited words even more.
She thought Seb would never say something so cheesy, but today he did, and with such seriousness. Susan went from initial shock to feeling extremely happy inside.
However, she didn't show it because that would make Seb too proud.
The next moment, Susan deliberately frowned. "What did you say? I didn't hear you clearly."
Hearing this, Seb's eyes flashed, and he suddenly brought his mouth to Susan's ear and shouted loudly, "I said I love you!"
Susan immediately covered her ears and sat up, giving him a push. "I'm not deaf, why are you shouting so loud? You almost made me deaf."
Seb just smiled. "Yeah, you're not deaf, so how come you didn't hear me?"
"You're so annoying!" Susan knew she was in the wrong but still didn't back down and started hitting his shoulder.
Seb let her hit him for quite a while until she was tired and couldn't hit anymore. Then he grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms.
Seb looked down at the panting Susan and said, "You're just being naughty. The taxi driver was right; I need to teach you a lesson!"
"What driver? What did he say?" Susan was confused.
"I'll tell you after I teach you a lesson." With that, Seb continued.
