Chapter 382 Tricks

"Did you get those methods down in the booklet? Hurry up and hand it over!" Susan said, all hyped up.

But Seb just shook his head. "Nah, these are my secret moves. Can't risk someone swiping 'em."

Susan frowned.

Seb grinned and tapped his temple. "It's all up here."

"Then spill the beans already," Susan said, practically bouncing.

Seb looked down at her, a sly smile playing on his lips. He brushed his fingers against her cheek and said in a low, teasing voice, "Alright, I'll show you the first trick right now."

Susan's eyes were glued to him, totally focused.

"The first trick is to really get the basics of this stock," he said, his fingers tracing patterns in the air.

"Any stock trader knows it, okay?" Susan pouted.

Seb leaned in and kissed her. Susan pushed against his shoulders, realizing she’d been played; he was at it again, seducing her.

The kiss was intense, leaving Susan breathless in seconds.

Seb pulled back, his voice rough. "The second trick is to show you're dead set on getting this stock."

"Ugh, you're such a tease!" Susan smacked Seb's chest.

But Seb caught her hand, his eyes blazing, looking at her like a predator.

"The third trick is to be steady, accurate, and ruthless. Jump in and buy when the stock's at rock bottom!" Seb demonstrated as he spoke.

Susan gasped, her arms wrapping around his broad shoulders instinctively.

At this point, stocks were the last thing on her mind.

Seb kept going, "The fourth trick is to muddy the waters, make the stock's moves unpredictable so no one else can figure it out. Keep the price in a range where it can't go up or down, so only you can control it!"

He went on to explain the fifth, sixth, and seventh tricks.

By the time they hit the tenth trick, Susan was whining. "Seb, can we call it a day? Let's pick this up tomorrow."

"No way! If you slack off, you'll fall behind," Seb insisted.

"It's too much!" Susan protested.

When they got to the twelfth trick, seeing Susan was really struggling, Seb finally gave in. "Alright, we'll do twelve more today and the last twelve the day after tomorrow."

Susan rolled her eyes and almost passed out.

For three days straight, Susan learned all thirty-six stock trading tricks from Seb.

After those three days, Susan felt dizzy and weak, even talking left her breathless. Just looking at the bed made her legs shake.

Seeing her like that, Seb finally let her rest from Monday to Friday, giving her time to recover.

After all that practice, Susan finally placed an order on Monday.

By Tuesday, the stock had jumped five percent, another three percent on Wednesday, stayed flat on Thursday, and closed with a six percent gain on Friday.

From Monday to Friday, Susan's million bucks had raked in tens of thousands more, and she was over the moon. She'd never saved up this much cash in her life.

On Friday, Seb walked into the villa looking all serious.

Hayden and Spring were messing around with toys in the living room. When they saw Seb, they both shouted, "Daddy!"

"Hey, be good," Seb said, but he didn't play with them like he usually did. Instead, he headed straight upstairs.

Opening the bedroom door, Seb saw Susan bent over the bed, folding clothes.

"You're back?" Susan looked up at him.

"Yeah," Seb replied, dropping his briefcase.

As she put away the clothes, Susan noticed he was unusually quiet. Normally, Seb would come over, hug her, and tease her a bit before letting go.

After putting away the folded clothes, Susan looked at Seb seriously.

"What's up?" Susan noticed something was off. Seb's face was heavy, and his brows were furrowed.

"I got someting to tell you," Seb hesitated before looking at her.

"What is it? Don't freak me out." Susan clutched her chest. She'd faced a lot of tough situations, but she'd never seen Seb like this. She felt uneasy, wondering if something bad had happened.

Seb leaned against the table, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He thought about lighting one but then put the pack away. "I just got a call. Cynthia is dying."

Hearing this, Susan was momentarily stunned.

Cynthia had pretty much vanished from her life, and she hadn't expected Seb to bring her up, let alone say she was dying.

If Cynthia was dying, so be it. What did it have to do with her? Susan hated Cynthia deeply, not because she was a rival in love, but because of what she had done to Hayden.

If Cynthia hadn't kidnapped Hayden back then, their family would have been reunited long ago, and Hayden wouldn't have developed leukemia. Thinking of the suffering Hayden had endured, Susan hated Cynthia to the core.

Susan then sneered, "If she's dying, what does it have to do with me? Don't mention her again. I don't want to hear anything about her because it messes with my mood."

Hearing this, Seb nodded. "You're right. She hurt you too much."

"She hurt Hayden too much!" Susan shot back.

Seb fell silent, and the room was unusually quiet.

Susan could tell that Seb still had feelings for Cynthia. Otherwise, he wouldn't have looked so serious upon hearing that Cynthia was dying.

Of course, Susan knew that his feelings for Cynthia were no longer about love. It was perhaps a bit of sentiment from their childhood or regret for the end of Cynthia's life.

Even though Susan said this, she felt uneasy. She pretended to calmly put the clothes in the closet but felt a bit suffocated.

After a long time, Seb slowly walked to the window. Outside, the city lights were already on.

"Cynthia wants to see you one last time," Seb said, turning to look at Susan.

Standing by the closet, Susan stiffened at these words.

This was too unbelievable. Cynthia and she were enemies. Was there any need to meet again? Susan was filled with disgust at Cynthia's request.
