Chapter 794 Hard to Decide
Seb held her back and said, "It's late. Let's have Kathy and Mary clean up tomorrow morning, okay?"
"Okay," Susan nodded, not in the mood to argue.
"Shall we head back to our room?" Seb asked, looking at her.
"Sure," Susan agreed.
Back in the bedroom, Seb gently took Susan's coat off and hung it up.
He held her shoulders, staring at her. "Were you crying just now?"
"No," Susan quickly denied.
Seb grabbed her chin, looking closely at her face. "Your eyes are red. You sure you weren't?"
Realizing she couldn't hide it, Susan didn't argue further.
She looked up at him and asked, "What were you doing on the terrace in the middle of the night?"
"Smoking. Didn't want to stink up the house," Seb replied.
Susan grabbed his collar. "You're lying!"
Seb sighed, knowing he couldn't fool her. "The cold wind clears my head. I just needed to think."
"Did you figure it out?" Susan asked, knowing what he meant.
"Not that easy," Seb said with a bitter smile.
Avoiding her gaze, Susan frowned and brought up the issue they both dreaded.
"Seb, if you have any decision, just tell me. I can handle it," Susan said seriously.
She had prepared for the worst these past few days. They might have to part ways.
Seb frowned, staring at her for a while before saying, "What kind of decision do you think I'd make?"
"I don't know, but whatever it is, I can understand," Susan said, feeling like she could hardly breathe.
After hesitating, Seb pulled her into his arms.
With his chin resting on her forehead, they felt each other's warmth.
After a long time, Seb finally said, "Susan, I don't want you to leave me."
Susan closed her eyes, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I don't want you to leave me either, but..."
Before she could finish, Seb kissed her, stopping her words.
Understanding his intention, she responded to his kiss.
Her passion ignited his worries, reluctance, and desire.
His kisses grew wilder, and the room's temperature rose.
Clothes scattered, lights dimmed, they expressed their feelings for each other.
If she were the moon, he would be the night sky, embracing her completely; if she were a rose, he would be the morning dew, enhancing her every petal; if she were a melody, he would be the harmony, creating a beautiful symphony together.
When the sky brightened, they finally stopped, exhausted, and fell asleep in each other's arms.
Susan didn't wake up until almost noon, thanks to the birds chirping outside the window.
Seeing the sun shining, she glanced at the clock on the wall and shot up. "Oh no!"
Seb, still half-asleep, opened his eyes lazily. "What's wrong?"
"It's already eleven! We slept in. I don't even know if Hayden and Spring made it to school!" Susan said, scrambling for her clothes.
But they were all over the floor.
Seb pulled her back into his arms. "Relax, they got to school on time."
"How do you know?" Susan frowned.
"I got up early and told Kathy and Mary to have the driver take them," Seb replied.
Susan sighed in relief and kissed his cheek. "You're always so reliable."
"Unlike you, sleeping till noon after a little fun," Seb teased, rolling his eyes.
Susan blushed. "It's your fault! If you hadn't kept me up, I wouldn't have overslept!"
"Alright, it's all my fault. Happy now? As if you didn't enjoy it," Seb smirked.
"You enjoyed it more!" Susan shot back.
Seb laughed and grabbed her hand. "Well, I can't help it. I'm a man."
"In my next life, I want to be a man. I'm done being a woman!" Susan said fiercely.
"Let's worry about the next life later. Right now, you're still a woman," Seb said, pulling her in for a kiss.
"Stop it!" Susan pushed him away.
But Seb was persistent.
Susan tickled his ribs, making him let go immediately. She knew all his ticklish spots after all these years.
Seb laughed and fell back on the pillow. Susan pointed at him and said, "In the next life, I'll be a man, and you'll be a woman. I'll make sure you can't get out of bed!"
Seb propped his head up with one hand and laughed. "Dream on. In the next life, I'll still be your man."
Susan was about to retort but suddenly went quiet, lying back on the pillow, looking downcast.
"What's wrong?" Seb asked, stroking her back.
"It is often said that lovers are bound by destiny across three lifetimes. We don't even know about this one, let alone the next. Maybe the one who stays with you forever isn't me," Susan said sadly, looking at him with sorrowful eyes.
Seb frowned, then patted her head. "Don't overthink it. We'll be together forever."
Susan suddenly looked up. "Seb, stop lying to yourself and me. You can't shake off your mom's and Rylee's influence. You're torn, not wanting to let me down but also not wanting to go against your deceased loved ones' wishes. It's really hard to make a decision."
