Chapter 1017 Unreasonable Trouble

Hearing Seb's blunt comment while eyeing her belly, Isabella couldn't help but roll her eyes and mutter, "Seriously, Seb, don't say stuff like that in front of Hayden and Spring. You'll give them ideas!"

Before Seb could reply, Hayden, munching on his food nearby, chimed in.

"Mom, I think Dad's got a point. You should have more kids so Spring and I don't have to do all the work when we're older!" Hayden said, looking all serious at Susan.

Susan and Seb exchanged a look, then asked, "What kind of responsibilities are you talking about, Hayden?"

"Well, we gotta take care of you guys when you're old and run Dad's business. Sitting at a desk all day sounds super boring. I wanna travel the world when I grow up. If I have a few brothers, they can handle the business, and I can do my thing," Hayden explained earnestly.

Susan was floored that her seven-year-old was already thinking like this.

Seb, equally surprised, patted Hayden's shoulder. "I wanna travel the world too, and I haven't done it yet. So, wait your turn, buddy!"

Susan burst out laughing.

Both of them were dreaming of a carefree life, dodging responsibilities.

Hayden frowned, then patted Seb's shoulder with a hopeful look. "Dad, you need more sons. You gotta step up!"

"I will!" Seb nodded seriously at Hayden.

Susan was speechless and just hung her head in embarrassment.

Then, Hayden turned to Susan with hopeful eyes. "Mom, you gotta work hard too!"

Susan couldn't hold back anymore and pretended to be mad, glaring at Hayden. "Grown-up stuff isn't your business. Finish your food and do your homework this afternoon. Don't set a bad example for Spring!"

Before Hayden could respond, Spring looked up innocently and said, "Mom, I think Hayden's right. If we have more siblings, we can travel the world together!"

Susan was at a loss for words.

She looked around at six eager eyes hoping for more siblings and felt utterly miserable.

Sensing Susan's helplessness, Seb grinned mischievously. "We should listen to Hayden and Spring and get this on the agenda. So tonight, we need to work extra hard! Come on, eat up, get your strength back. Beef's the best for energy."

As Seb spoke, he plopped a big steak on Susan's plate.

Susan could only glare at him with a murderous look, but Seb's triumphant smile didn't waver.

Isabella went to the restroom and lingered at the sink.

The atmosphere was too tense today, and she wanted to leave but couldn't.

She could only hang out there for a bit, hoping the meal would wrap up soon so she could grab Milo and make a quick exit.

After stalling for a few minutes, Isabella finally stepped out of the restroom.

To her surprise, Leon was waiting for her right outside.

As soon as he saw her, Leon flicked his cigarette butt into a nearby trash can and walked over.

"Still mad after all this time?" Leon asked, looking at her.

Isabella's anger flared up even more, and she raised her voice without thinking. "You think a few days apart will just fix everything?"

She was furious at his cluelessness. Their relationship was already on the rocks, and he thought a few days apart would make it all better.

People were coming and going from the restroom, so Leon grabbed her wrist and pulled her to a quieter spot.

"Don't touch me with your dirty hands!" Isabella snapped, shaking him off.

Leon got the message and raised his hands in surrender. "I swear, I haven't touched another woman."

Isabella frowned and looked away, clearly not buying it.

He spent Valentine's Day with Bronte, even wearing the shirt and tie she bought him, but despite his claims that he hadn't touched Bronte, Isabella couldn't believe it.

Seeing her cold expression, Leon's eyes filled with pain. "Why won't you believe me? You're the only one I love!"

Isabella felt a lump in her throat.

She turned back to him and said, "Fine, I believe you. But if you want me to feel secure, you need to prove it."

"What do you mean?" Leon asked, frowning.

Isabella didn't hold back. "You say you have nothing to do with Bronte? Then remove her from the Vice President position at Johnson Corporation and make sure she leaves the company. I don't want her around you ever again!"

Leon frowned deeply. "Are you serious? I can't just remove her. Her dad's a major shareholder and a respected board member..."

Isabella cut him off, "But you're the largest shareholder and the CEO. If you wanted to, you could do it. Unless you don't want her to leave. Maybe you like having her around!"

"Isabella, why are you being so unreasonable?" Leon said, exasperated.

"Yeah, I'm being unreasonable. Fine, let's get a divorce. Then you can marry Bronte and stop sneaking around!" Isabella shot back, losing control.

She had hoped Leon would show some sincerity and agree to her request, but she was wrong. He thought she was being unreasonable.
