Chapter 438 Toad
That night, after Susan finally got Hayden and Spring to crash, she dragged her tired self to bed.
Seb, already in his PJs, plopped a stack of brochures in front of her.
"What's this?" Susan asked, picking them up.
She glanced down and saw they were for all sorts of islands and tourist spots. The pics were so stunning she wanted to hop on a plane right then and there.
Seb slid into bed and pulled her close. "After our wedding next month, we're going on our honeymoon. Check these out and pick a spot you like."
Susan felt all warm and fuzzy inside and snuggled into his chest. "What about Hayden and Spring while we're gone?"
"I've got it covered. Mary and Kathy will watch them, and I'll get a few more folks to help out," Seb said, rubbing her shoulder.
Susan frowned. "Leaving the kids behind for a honeymoon feels kinda wrong."
Seb kissed her forehead. "We can't drag two kids along, right? We'll be back in just a week. I want you all to myself for that week!"
He hugged her tight.
Lying on his shoulder, Susan was still worried. "And what about my office? It's just starting to take off. A honeymoon means a whole week away, plus prep time for the wedding..."
Before she could finish, Seb kissed her, shutting her up.
After a steamy kiss, he let go of the breathless Susan and looked at her with a bit of a pout. "We're getting married, okay? Can't you put me first for once? It's always the office or the kids. Where do I fit in?"
Seeing his pout, she stroked his face and smiled. "The kids, the office, and you are all tied for first place!"
Not happy with that, Seb pinned her wrists above her head. "No ties. I gotta be first!"
Seeing him act all childish, Susan teased, "At best, you and the kids can tie for first. What kind of dad competes with his kids?"
"They'll have their own partners and families someday. I only have you, so they can't compete with me!" Seb said stubbornly.
Susan couldn't help but laugh. "Fine, when they have their own partners, you can be first."
"Nope, I gotta be first now and forever!" Seb said, kissing her neck.
"What are you doing? It tickles, let me go." Susan laughed, trying to squirm away.
"Admit I'm first in your heart, and I'll let you go," Seb whispered in her ear.
"You and the kids are tied for first," Susan said, refusing to budge.
Seeing this, Seb started making love to her.
After a few rounds, Susan was sprawled on the bed, unable to move, with the brochures scattered all over the floor.
"Spare me, I can't take it anymore. Doing this every day is too much for me!" Susan pleaded, almost in tears.
Seb grinned, but his tone was all serious. "So, who's first in your heart?"
He was still hung up on this.
Susan really wanted to give in. What harm was there in saying it? She couldn't let him torment her to death, could she?
So, the next moment, Susan closed her eyes and shouted, "You're first in my heart!"
Seeing her exhausted state, Seb smiled and asked, "Who am I?"
"You're Seb, the CEO of Prosperity Group!" Susan shouted.
But he wasn't satisfied. "What am I to you?"
"You're the father of my children!" Susan replied.
"And?" Seb played with her hair.
"You're my husband!" Susan answered.
Only then did Seb show a satisfied smile.
"Alright, we're done for today. We'll continue tomorrow!" Seb turned off the light and wrapped his arm around her waist.
At this moment, Susan was utterly exhausted and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning, Susan struggled to get out of bed, still feeling groggy and sleep-deprived.
At breakfast, Susan looked listless.
Across from her, Hayden frowned and asked, "Mommy, didn't you sleep well last night?"
Hearing this, Susan quickly sat up straight and replied, "I had insomnia last night."
"Insomnia? Why did you have insomnia, Mommy?" Hayden asked, frowning.
At this moment, Susan heard a low chuckle from the table. Turning her head, she saw Seb with a mischievous smile on his face, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
He knew exactly what had happened last night. Seeing him pretend to read the newspaper, Susan felt a surge of anger.
Then, Susan said to Hayden, "Last night, I found a toad in the bedroom. That toad bullied me. I tried to catch it, but it was very cunning and kept escaping, so I stayed up late."
Hearing this, Hayden's eyes widened. "Mommy, did you catch the toad in the end?"
Susan glanced at Seb and said, "No."
"Mommy, I'll help you catch the toad when I get home from school tonight," Hayden immediately offered.
"Alright," Susan nodded.
Unexpectedly, Seb sternly slapped the table and scolded Hayden, "Hayden, toads are beneficial creatures. You can't just catch them, understand?"
"But the toad scared Mommy and kept her from sleeping well," Hayden argued.
"The toad likes your mommy, so it was just playing with her. You're too young to understand!" Seb said with a straight face.
Before Hayden could respond, Susan said, "Toads are the worst. I don't want it to like me. Hayden, toads only bully me. Next time you see a toad, make sure to teach it a lesson, understand?"
"I understand!" Hayden said loudly.
At this moment, Susan raised her chin and glanced at Seb, whose face had turned dark. She felt a sense of triumph.
Just as Susan was feeling pleased, her wrist was suddenly grabbed, and she was pulled up from her chair by a strong arm!
Looking back, she met a furious face, and Susan couldn't help but frown and shout, "What are you doing?"
