Chapter 475 I Don't Like You Being a Jerk

Hearing Seb say he could take the kids out for the weekend, Susan was over the moon, wishing it was already Saturday.

"You're the best!" Susan looked up at him, feeling like he was her knight in shining armor.

Seeing Susan's excitement and the way she looked at him, Seb's ego got a nice little boost.

With a playful grin, Seb asked, "So, how are you gonna thank me?"

Catching the mischievous glint in his eyes, Susan rolled her eyes and gave his shoulder a playful shove. "Seriously? You're their dad. You're taking them to see their mom, and I gotta thank you?"

"Of course, I'm their dad. Don't joke about that," Seb's face suddenly turned serious.

His stern look was pretty intimidating. Susan didn't expect him to take her joke so seriously and get all worked up. It showed how touchy he was about the kids. He couldn't even handle a joke about them not being his.

But Susan got it. The kids meant the world to him, and no one could question his role as their dad.

She shook his arm, smiling, "Are you really mad?"

Seb raised his chin and ignored her.

"I was just kidding! Why are you so uptight?" Susan kept shaking his arm.

Finally, Seb spoke, but his tone was sharp. "Don't joke like that again, got it?"

His loud tone startled Susan.

She pretended to be scared and nodded vigorously. "Got it."

Seeing her scared look, Seb felt a pang of guilt. His expression softened, and he pinched her cheek gently, "Did I scare you?"

Susan nodded, "You were so fierce; my heart's still racing."

Secretly, Susan was pleased. Even though he was a bit harsh, it wasn't enough to really scare her. But she had to play the frightened little rabbit because Seb had this macho protective streak. Only then would he stop being mad and comfort her.

Sure enough, her little trick worked like a charm, as always.

Seb lowered his head, staring at her for a moment, then suddenly reached out his hand.

Susan immediately hugged herself and scooted to the side, "What are you doing?"

This was a public place, after all. Even though the café was pretty empty and the lighting was dim, they couldn't get all lovey-dovey here!

Seeing her panicked look, Seb smirked, "Didn't you say your heart was racing? I just wanted to check. What did you think I was gonna do? I'm not that desperate, and besides, I know your body well enough. Do you really think I'd lose control here?"

Susan blushed.

She knew she had been tricked again; Seb was just messing with her.

Turning her face away, she said angrily, "I knew you were messing with me!"

Seb leaned in close, his lips almost brushing her ear, and whispered, "We're even now."

"When did I mess with you?" Susan pouted.

Seb smirked, "You think I'm dumb? You're usually fearless, like a little wildcat. I just got a bit stern, and suddenly your heart's pounding? You think I'm that easy to fool?"

Realizing she'd been caught, Susan felt a wave of annoyance. Her little trick had been seen through, and he’d even set a trap for her.

Seeing her annoyed look, Seb chuckled, reached out to touch her hair, and whispered in her ear, "Even if you were faking it, you were right. I do like seeing you scared of me!"

Susan rolled her eyes. "Then I'll go to the pet store tomorrow and buy you a few rabbits. You can scare them all you want!"

Seb wrapped his arm around her waist, laughing, "I just love seeing you mad. You look gorgeous no matter what."

Hearing this, Susan was both irritated and amused. She playfully punched him a few times. "Why are you so annoying?"

"Isn't that what you love about me?" Seb looked at her with a mischievous grin.

"I don't love you being a jerk," Susan said, trying to sound disdainful.

Seb suddenly brought his mouth close to her ear.

The warm breath from Seb's nose made her shrink her neck. Feeling ticklish all over, Susan tried to push him away.

But his hand was tightly wrapped around her waist, and she couldn't break free.

Susan hated this; it always made her unbearably ticklish.

And this was a café, with the waiter not far away. Susan didn't dare to make a scene, or everyone would stare at them.

"Seb, stop it, okay?" Susan finally protested in a low voice.

Seb let go of her earlobe but kept his mouth close to her ear, speaking softly. His warm breath made her very uncomfortable, but she had to endure it.

"If you don't like me being a jerk, what kind of me do you like the most?" Seb asked softly in her ear.

"I like you being a gentleman," Susan said, raising her chin.

"You're lying," Seb said, clearly dissatisfied.

"I'm not lying," Susan naturally denied.

Seb looked around and then whispered, "Tell the truth quickly, or I'll kiss you right here."

As he spoke, Seb's mouth moved closer.

Susan was terrified, glancing at the other customers and the waiter, she pleaded in a low voice, "Stop it, okay? Others will laugh at us."

"I don't care about it," Seb said nonchalantly.

"You may not care, but I do," Susan said angrily.

Seb's arms tightened around her waist, making it hard for her to breathe, and he was about to kiss her.

Susan quickly covered his mouth with her hand. Her palm touched his lips while the back of her hand pressed against her own mouth.

"Tell me, or I'll really kiss you," Seb said, pulling her hand down and threatening with a fierce look.
