Chapter 246 Stay Away from Me
At 4 PM, Susan left the building with her bag.
Since tomorrow was New Year's Day, the boss decided to let everyone leave early. Susan tidied up the finance office before heading out, promoting she was the last to depart.
The sky looked like it was about to snow. The office tower was already pretty empty since people were either cleaning their homes or shopping.
Susan contemplated purchasing items for New Year's Day. It would be her first time celebrating with George and Spring. With Serenity departing that evening, she aimed to make the following day extra memorable.
The commercial street was just across the intersection, so Susan headed there. Striding along, she felt like someone was following her.
Feeling uneasy, she quickened her pace and turned around. But there were only a couple of people in the distance, and no one seemed to be following her.
She touched her chest and shook her head, thinking she was overreacting. She kept walking since there were more people ahead. The street behind her was usually quiet, especially on a gloomy day like this.
Just as she was about to turn onto the main road, a black figure blocked her path!
It was a man in a black wool coat with a thin face and deep-set eyes. Susan's mind went blank.
She hadn't seen Seb in over six months, not since he had pressured the doctors into performing a C-section to deliver Spring. Just when she believed he had moved on, he reappeared.
Susan's face darkened. She averted her gaze and asked in a frosty tone, "What do you want?"
"I need to talk to you." Seb's voice was as deep and pleasant as ever.
"I have nothing to talk to you about!" Susan said and tried to walk past him.
She hoped never to see Seb again, let alone engage in conversation. Her heart brimmed only with loathing towards him!
Seb grabbed her arm and said, "I have something important to tell you, and you must listen!"
Susan sneered, "Seb, who do you think you are? Why should I listen to you? Let go of me, or I'll scream!"
Seb had a way of unnerving Susan with just a word and a look, and she had to admit that.
Hearing her words and seeing her defiant expression, Seb frowned.
Susan shook off Seb's hand and walked away, not wanting anything more to do with him!
Just as Susan was about to pass Seb, he quickly covered her mouth. His hand was so big it almost suffocated her.
Susan's eyes widened in terror as she gazed at him. Seb's expression remained unreadable. With one hand over her mouth and the other around her waist, he guided her towards a nearby door.Upon entering, Susan could see it was a lavish public restroom. Uncertain of Seb's intentions, she fought back fiercely, but her efforts proved futile against his strength. Unyielding, Seb directed her into the women's restroom.
Unfortunately, it was empty and eerily quiet, which made Susan even more anxious. She tried to kick him with her high-heeled boots, but it was pointless.
Seb took her into a stall and locked the door.
In the cramped space, there was only a toilet and just enough room for the two of them to stand, making it extremely tight and oppressive.
Already struggling to breathe with Seb's hand over her mouth, Susan felt even more suffocated. She glared at him, grabbing his coat collar with one hand and pounding his chest with the other, signaling him to let her go.
Seb pinned Susan against the wall, their bodies almost pressed together. Susan's heart tightened, and her face turned bright red.
"If you promise not to scream, I'll let you go," Seb said softly, looking down at her with patience.
With no other choice, Susan nodded.
As she nodded, Seb released his hand from her mouth.
Little did Seb know, this was all part of Susan's scheme. Uncertain of his intentions and not willing to risk being harmed again, Susan seized the opportunity the moment Seb's grip loosened. "Help!" she shouted.
Before she could finish, Seb's hand was back over her mouth.
His hold was now even more suffocating, and Susan fought desperately against it. However, Seb left her no room for resistance. He pinned her firmly between his body and the wall, his presence overwhelming in the confined space.
Susan's eyes widened in fear as she stared at him, not knowing what he intended to do.
Seb's deep voice sounded in her ear. "Susan, I want to talk to you about Hayden."
Hearing this, Susan thought, 'Hayden was Seb's adopted son. Although I like Hayden, I had nothing to do with them. What could Seb possibly want to talk to me about?'
Seeing Susan remain silent, Seb continued, "Hayden misses you."
Hearing this, Susan's body relaxed a bit, and she loosened her grip on his coat collar.
It had been a long time since she last saw Hayden, almost two years. Hayden should be over three years old now, at his most adorable age.
Seeing Susan's eyes soften, Seb slowly removed his hand from her mouth.
Susan took the opportunity to push him away and said in a low voice, "Stay away from me!"
Seb took a step back, putting some distance between them. They stared at each other in the stall.
