Chapter 593 Farewell
Seb squinted and gazed at her enchanting eyes for a second, then lowered his head and kissed her passionately.
Susan closed her eyes, silently feeling his passion and warmth.
Clothes scattered, the two of them explored each other wildly, hoping to merge into one another, becoming a part of each other.
In the end, Susan silently felt him, hoping that every moment of tonight would be etched in her heart, as she would rely on these memories to get by in the future.
Long after everything had calmed down, Susan lay in Seb's arms, with his heavy breathing in her ears.
"I'm sorry, Susan," Seb said, holding her and planting a kiss on her forehead.
"It's just fate playing a cruel trick on us, you have nothing to apologize for," Susan said, her eyes brimming with tears.
His chin rested on her forehead as he said, "Listen to me, after we finalize the divorce tomorrow, go to the lawyer and sign the documents."
"My accounting firm is doing well, you don't need to worry about my future life," Susan refused.
"You must listen to me on this. With those assets, your life will be stable in the future," Seb insisted.
Hearing this, Susan could only nod in his arms. "Alright."
Seb tightened his arms around her, holding her close.
Susan cupped his face with her hands, frowning and saying, "From tomorrow onwards, let's not see each other again."
"Susan," Seb called softly.
Susan said sadly, "Because once we meet, we can't control our emotions. This is not good for you or me. Since we are already divorced, let's make a clean break and not have any lingering ties!"
Seb remained silent for a long time.
Not getting his response, Susan urged, "Promise me."
"Okay, I promise you," Seb nodded, then turned over and pressed down on her!
"Seb," Susan called him softly.
One of his hands intertwined with hers, never letting go.
That night was filled with passion and sorrow.
Seb and Susan barely slept all night.
Early the next morning, Seb got up early, and Susan was putting on makeup in the bathroom.
Not having slept well last night, dark circles shadowed her eyes. She deliberately put on heavier makeup, not wanting anyone to see her fatigue.
During breakfast, the table was quiet.
Seb's gaze almost never left Susan, his eyes filled with an emotion she couldn't decipher. She, in turn, kept her gaze fixed firmly on her lap, only occasionally glancing up to talk to the children. The weight of unspoken words hung heavy in the air.
When they were almost done eating, Hayden suddenly looked up and said, "Daddy, Mommy, can you both take me to preschool today?"
Hearing this, Seb and Susan exchanged a glance.
Seb was the first to nod. "Sure."
"Mommy?" Hayden said happily when he heard Seb agree.
"Alright, we'll take you to preschool together," Susan said, looking at Seb.
That morning, Seb and Susan held Hayden's hands and the three of them went to preschool together.
Along the way, Hayden was jumping around happily.
"It's so great to have both Daddy and Mommy with me!" Hayden said excitedly.
Hearing this, Susan felt nothing but sadness.
Because this should be the last time the two of them would accompany Hayden together. In the future, Hayden would no longer enjoy the happiness of a complete family. Susan felt extremely sad but didn't want to show it, fearing it would make Seb sad. But how could Seb not feel the same at this moment?
When they reached the preschool gate, Susan suddenly squatted down, held Hayden's shoulders, and instructed, "Hayden, I will be very busy with work in the future and might not be able to accompany you often. So you need to take care of Spring and listen to Daddy, okay?"
After this morning, she would move out of the villa. Susan had thought for a long time and didn't know how to tell Hayden.
Hayden was too young. Although he was very smart, she thought it was better not to tell him the truth. Maybe it would hurt him less if he found out when he was older.
Hearing this, Hayden touched Susan's face and asked, "Mommy, are you going on a business trip?"
"Yes, but I will come to see you and Spring every two or three days," Susan quickly said.
Although Hayden was unhappy, he reluctantly nodded. "Alright, then Mommy, you should hurry and finish your work so you can spend time with me and Spring."
"Good, Hayden is the best," Susan said, patting Hayden's head.
Then, Hayden waved his hand at Seb and Susan, said goodbye, and turned to enter the preschool.
Watching Hayden's small figure disappear, Susan looked up and met Seb's deep eyes.
"Don't worry, I will take good care of Hayden. Besides, you will come to see him often in the future, right?" Seb comforted.
"Yes," Susan nodded, and then they naturally got into the car.
Leon drove the car onto the main road.
In the back seat, Seb and Susan sat side by side.
"To the courthouse," Seb instructed Leon.
Hearing the order, Leon frowned, then turned and changed direction.
Susan closed her eyes, her heart plummeting to her stomach. The courthouse. The finality of it all. She couldn't bear to look at Seb, afraid the tears brimming in her eyes would spill over.
At this moment, Susan suddenly felt her hand being covered by a warm hand, and then that hand intertwined with hers, never letting go.
Then, Susan leaned on his shoulder, thinking, 'Let me be willful one last time.'
Gazing out the window at the passing traffic and trees, Susan wished this moment could slow down, so she could stay by his side a little longer.
As they got closer to the courthouse, Susan felt an immense fear and strong aversion to that place.
At this moment, Seb suddenly said, "Leon, turn left!"
Hearing this, Leon immediately braked and then turned into the left lane.
Turning left was not the way to the courthouse. Susan frowned and looked at Seb in confusion.
Seb then said, "A few days ago, a friend brought me some coffee beans from abroad. I kept forgetting to pick them up. Just a left turn and we'll be there. Let Leon pick them up, and then we'll go to the courthouse."
Hearing this, Susan nodded. She thought, 'This small matter could have been handled by someone else. Why does he have to go now?'
