Chapter 817 Everything is Going Smoothly in Terms of Emotions

After the two had a good laugh, Seb's deep, magnetic voice came through the line. "Been losing sleep thinking about me every night lately?"

Susan frowned. "Seb, don't be so full of yourself, okay?"

"Well, I've been losing sleep thinking about you every night," Seb replied, sounding all pitiful.

Susan's heart melted. Truth be told, she missed him too.

Every night, after bathing Hayden and Spring, telling them bedtime stories, and finishing all the chores, she'd lie in bed thinking about him.

She'd hit up social clubs and go shopping just to distract herself from the loneliness, but it was tough. She thought she'd have to endure this for two years, but it had only been two months. Susan was over the moon.

"Just half a month, and I'll fly over to see you," she said softly.

Just then, she heard Ellie's voice in the background talking about the schedule.

"Ellie's pushing me to go to a meeting. I'll talk to you later tonight," Seb said.

"Okay," Susan nodded.

After hanging up, Susan was so happy she almost jumped for joy.

Seeing Susan come out of the study all cheerful, Isabella, who was lounging on the couch, glanced at her and finally relaxed. "I thought something was wrong. Looks like Seb couldn't handle missing you and called?"

Susan excitedly filled Isabella in about Andrew.

Isabella was shocked but happy for Susan. "You and Seb have been through so much. It's about time you two got to be together."

"Yeah, I can't believe it. Feels like a dream," Susan said, pinching her own face to make sure it was real, then smiling knowingly.

Isabella urged her, "Susan, I'm doing fine now. You should hurry back to Maple Valley. Seb must be dying to see you."

Susan smiled. "I promised to stick around for the first trimester, and I intend to keep that promise. Plus, I can't just leave Hayden and Spring all of a sudden. I still have to attend their parent-teacher conference this weekend!"

"Then after the conference, wrap things up here and head back to Maple Valley, got it? Otherwise, I'll be mad," Isabella said, not wanting to delay Susan and Seb's reunion.

"Got it," Susan smiled.

In the days that followed, Susan was all smiles no matter what she was doing, always keeping her phone close, ready for Seb's calls, especially at night.

One day, Cecilia came over.

Susan, Isabella, and Cecilia were having coffee on the terrace.

During their chat, Susan got a call and went inside to answer it.

After a good half-hour conversation, she came back to her seat.

Isabella glanced at her and said to Cecilia, "Someone's love life is going so well lately, she's grinning from ear to ear!"

Hearing this, Susan just smiled and didn't banter with Isabella like she usually would. Both Cecilia and Isabella were having a rough time in their love lives, and she didn't want to rub her happiness in their faces.

Cecilia looked at Susan and asked, "So, when are you heading back to Maple Valley?"

Susan grinned. "I booked a flight for the day after tomorrow."

"She's been packing for days, can't wait any longer," Isabella laughed.

Susan shot Isabella a look and then turned to Cecilia. "When I leave, you two can keep each other company. After Hayden and Spring finish this semester, I'll come to pick them up. But don't worry, Isabella, I'll leave the house and the driver for you, and Kathy will stay until after you give birth. Once you have the baby and rest for a month, you'll head back to Maple Valley too."

Isabella sighed. "I'm causing you trouble."

"Here you go again. I should be thanking you for helping me with the kids these past few months," Susan said.

"Alright, you two have been friends for so many years, no need to say these things," Cecilia laughed.

Susan and Isabella exchanged a glance and smiled. Indeed, no need for formalities between them.

Time flew by, and soon it was the night before Susan was set to return to Maple Valley.

Susan put Hayden and Spring to bed, reluctantly touching their little faces and hands.

There were still more than two months until the holidays, and the thought of not seeing them for that long was tough.

Susan gently walked out of the room and softly closed the door.

In a blink, she saw Kathy coming out of the kitchen with a kettle.

Susan smiled and walked up to her. "Kathy, these next two months will be tough on you."

"Ms. Wilson, it's no big deal. It's my duty," Kathy quickly said.

Susan smiled. "With you taking care of Hayden and Spring, I'm most at ease."

"I do have some experience with kids," Kathy said.

Susan added, "Please take good care of Isabella. She's just three months pregnant and has no experience."

"Ms. Brown is a good person. Don't worry, I'll take good care of her and make sure she has a healthy baby," Kathy said, patting her chest.

Susan nodded but still said worriedly, "If anything happens, take her to the hospital immediately and notify me first thing."

"Got it, you've reminded me several times," Kathy nodded repeatedly.

After giving detailed instructions for a long time, Susan finally went upstairs.

As soon as she closed the bedroom door, her phone rang.

Susan took out her phone and saw it was Seb calling, and she couldn't help but smile.

"Hello?" she answered with a wide smile.

"Are you asleep?" His deep, magnetic voice came from the other end.

"Not yet, I was just giving Kathy some instructions. I still need to check my luggage and passport to make sure everything's in order," Susan replied.

"In twenty-four hours and thirty minutes, you'll be back with me," Seb suddenly said.

Hearing his words, Susan smiled. "Then you just wait patiently."

"I'll go to the airport early to pick you up," Seb said affectionately a moment later.
