Chapter 314 Holding Her Head High

Susan followed closely behind Fiona into the conference room.

When Susan saw the person seated in the conference room, she was stunned!

'Isn't Sophia in charge of Capgemini Software Company? Why is it Ethan now?' Susan thought.

Fiona smiled and stepped forward, saying, "Mr. Robinson, sorry to keep you waiting."

Ethan stood up and politely said, "I just arrived as well. Paula, is this the accountant responsible for our Capgemini Software Company budget proposal?"

Ethan's gaze turned to Susan, who finally snapped out of her daze and nodded.

Fiona introduced, "Yes, this is Susan Wilson, our new accountant at Pioneer Accounting Firm."

"Hello, Ms. Wilson." Ethan extended his right hand towards Susan.

Susan quickly extended her hand and gave Ethan a symbolic handshake.

At this moment, Fiona smiled and said, "Mr. Robinson, shall we sit down and talk?"

Ethan smiled at Fiona. "Paula, since Ms. Wilson is in charge of this case, we shall communicate it. I hear you're usually very busy, so I won't take up more of your time."

Hearing this, Fiona was taken aback.

Susan, however, lowered her head, pretending not to notice. She thought, 'Ethan wants to get rid of Fiona, but that's fine. It makes it easier for me to ask Ethan what's going on.' Although she wasn't very familiar with Ethan, they did know each other.

Fiona then forced a smile and said, "I won't delay your discussion then. I'll get back to work."

"See you later." Ethan smiled and nodded.

After Fiona left, the conference room door was closed, leaving only Susan and Ethan in the small room.

Susan looked up at Ethan with a puzzled expression, but Ethan smiled and said, "Are you surprised that the head of Capgemini Software Company is now me and not Sophia?"

Hearing this, Susan smiled and said, "To be honest, I am a bit surprised. But this is your family matter, and I'm not that curious. I just know that if you're the one in charge of the Capgemini Software Company and Pioneer Accounting Firm liaison, then my budget proposal should be approved!"

After speaking, Susan placed the budget proposal in front of Ethan and sat down near him.

Ethan smiled, opened the budget proposal, and without even looking at it, picked up a pen and signed his name and date.

Seeing Ethan sign so readily, Susan couldn't help but frown. "You didn't even look at it before signing?"

Although Susan knew that if Ethan was in charge of this project, it would likely go smoothly, she was still surprised that Ethan signed without even looking at the documents.

Ethan smiled and said, "You've revised this budget proposal more than ten times. Honestly, it's not a difficult proposal. Now that it's been modified to this extent, there shouldn't be any issues. So, I don't want to waste time on it."

"Thank you for your support." Susan smiled, unable to hide her excitement.

Now that Ethan had signed the case, it meant the contract was fulfilled, and she had successfully completed this task. Fiona had no reason to prevent her from becoming a permanent employee. Everyone at Pioneer Accounting Firm knew this project had been at a standstill for a long time. She could finally hold her head high in front of Fiona, and Elliott wouldn't be able to mock her anymore.

Even if she didn't continue working at Pioneer Accounting Firm, she would be the one to resign first. This was crucial for her self-esteem. At this moment, Susan felt a surge of confidence, ready to tackle anything.
Meanwhile, Elliott got up from his seat and stretched.

Fiona had just returned from the conference room and saw Elliott stretching. She said, "Elliott, you've been working on your project for a week now. Is it ready to hand over?"

Hearing this, Elliott frowned and replied, "Paula, you know that case is tough. Give me a few more days."

Fiona's face darkened, and she said, "I'll give you two more days. No more delays."

"Alright." Elliott agreed readily.

As Fiona was about to leave, Elliott stepped forward and smiled. "Paula, did Susan's case get rejected by the head of Capgemini Software Company?"

Hearing this, Fiona scolded, "No wonder you can't finish your projects. You spend all your time gossiping. Why are you so concerned about Susan's case?"

After speaking, Fiona turned and went into her office.

Once Fiona's office door was closed, Elliott muttered, "That bitch, why is she so arrogant and overbearing?"

At this moment, an older female colleague tapped Elliott with her magazine and teased, "Elliott, you dare to curse Paula? Be careful before we report you."

Hearing this, Elliott chuckled. "No way, Ingrid Bjornsson, you're not the type to backstab. None of you are!"

He then pointed to the remaining female colleagues.

Everyone knew Elliott's character well. He would only curse Paula behind her back, never to her face. So, they took the opportunity to tease him.
At this moment, a female colleague stood up, crossed her arms, and smiled. "We're not the type to report you. But in this hot weather, shouldn't you buy us some cold drinks?"

The female colleague winked at the others, and soon, they all joined in.
"Yeah, Elliott, you're the only man in the office. Show some chivalry!"
Elliott glanced at the female colleagues, knowing he had to spend the money today.

So, the next moment, Elliott slapped his thigh. "Cold drinks! Sure, I'll go buy them right away."

The women all ordered the more expensive drinks. Although Elliott felt the pinch, he had no choice but to grab his wallet and leave the office.
After Elliott left, the women all smiled triumphantly.

They all knew what kind of person Elliott was. They usually didn't want to get involved, but they had disliked him for a long time.

Half an hour later, Elliott came out of the cold drink shop with a large bag of drinks and ice cream.

As he turned a corner, a man in a white shirt suddenly walked towards him.
