Upon hearing this, Susan panicked! She immediately stood up from her chair.
Almost instantly, Susan firmly said, "I know George's character. He would never do something so unprofessional and unscrupulous. Someone must be framing him."
Maria nodded vigorously. "George is definitely not that kind of person. Susan, can you find a way to help him?"
Seeing Maria's anxious eyes and pleading attitude, Susan frowned and said, "If I had a way, I would definitely help him, but right now, I don't know what to do either."
Susan naturally wanted to help George, but what could she do? Her mind was in a mess, and she didn't know where to start.
However, Maria said, "Susan, as long as you're willing to help, there's always a way.This must be someone deliberately targeting George."

"It's George's cousin, your ex-husband, Seb," Maria stammered before answering.

It wasn't impossible for him to cause trouble for George later. But to stoop to such a low blow, to tarnish George's reputation… it seemed extreme, even for Seb.
Maria hesitated for a moment before looking up and saying, "I heard it from a good friend who used to work at George Law Firm. She said recently Seb has been pressuring companies to sever ties with George, creating all sorts of trouble for him. This latest incident… it has to be connected to Seb."
Hearing this, Susan couldn't stay calm.

Seeing Susan's noncommittal expression, Maria anxiously said, "Susan, for the sake of your past relationship with George, can you plead with Seb? Susan sat at her desk, her hands intertwined.

Susan took out her phone, intending to call George to ask about his current situation.
However, she ultimately didn't dial his number. She knew that even if she asked, George wouldn't tell her.
