Chapter 446 Going Crazy
Ethan had just about enough of this crap. Pointing at Amelia, he snapped, "Amelia, shut your trap. Your mom's the biggest bitch around!"
"You dare insult my mom? She's still your stepmom, you ungrateful jerk!" Amelia screamed, chucking her wine glass right at Ethan.
Ethan didn't even flinch. The glass smacked him and then shattered on the floor, making a loud crash in the banquet hall.
Everyone who'd been chatting and laughing turned to stare. Suddenly, Ethan and Amelia were the center of attention.
Without missing a beat, Ethan stepped up and slapped Amelia hard across the face!
Amelia saw stars and hit the ground.
Pointing at her, Ethan yelled, "You and your mom are the real scum. My mom just died, and your witch of a mother dumped your stepdad to seduce my dad, making him her puppet. You two are trying to take over the Robinson family's assets, forcing me to cut ties with my dad. Look at what your mom's done to him! She pushed him into a bunch of bad investments, driving Capgemini Software Company to the edge of bankruptcy. This company was my parents' baby, my mom's life's work, and you've trashed it. Even if I beat you to a pulp, it wouldn't be enough. And you still have the nerve to hit my girl?"
Ethan's words had those in the know secretly cheering, and everyone looked at Amelia with disgust.
Lying on the ground, holding her face, Amelia spat out, "Ethan, we were in love once. How could you hit me? I hate you. I'll never forgive you!"
"Who needs your forgiveness? We're enemies for life. If we ever cross paths again, it's on!" Ethan shot back, fuming.
"You..." Amelia's eyes were filled with pain and hatred.
Susan saw this and knew Amelia still had feelings for Ethan. She'd come to confront Ethan and his girlfriend today because she still cared. But Ethan's hatred was clear as day.
Just then, Sophia showed up.
Pushing through the crowd, she saw Amelia on the ground, her face bruised. She rushed to help her up.
"What happened? Who hit you?" Sophia wasn't one to let things slide. Seeing Amelia like this, she was ready to throw down.
Seeing Sophia, Amelia started bawling, "Mom, Ethan insulted me and hit me!"
Hearing this, Sophia was livid.
She stepped up, pointing her red-painted nail at Ethan. "Ethan, even if you have a new girl, you can't treat Amelia like this!"
Ethan shot back coldly, "Men always go for the new over the old. Your daughter picked me, and I'm Dominic's son. Didn't Dominic find you, his new fling, right after my mom passed away?"
"You..." Sophia was speechless.
Dominic, who had tagged along with Sophia, feeling utterly ashamed after hearing that.
Sophia grabbed Dominic's arm. "Look at how your son is treating us! Go teach that ungrateful brat a lesson!"
Dominic, already feeling like a fool in front of the business crowd, stomped his foot and frowned. "Can you all just stop causing troubles? You're wrecking everything!"
Sophia's eyebrows shot up, and she snapped, "Who's causing troubles? Who's wrecking everything? It's Ethan who's not only ungrateful but also suing you for the inheritance. If he hadn't taken most of the company's liquid assets, Capgemini Software Company wouldn't be in this mess!"
Dominic looked like he'd been hit by a truck.
Ethan chimed in, "Don't call me ungrateful. I have nothing to do with him anymore!"
Dominic was gutted but had no comeback.
Seeing Dominic wimp out, Sophia shoved him in frustration. "How can you be so useless?"
After saying this, Sophia yelled as she ran towards Ethan. "Ethan, I'll fight you to the death!"
Ethan quickly sidestepped, and Sophia crashed into the long dining table behind him.
Instantly, food and dishes went flying, creating a huge mess. Sophia clutched her stomach, groaning in pain.
"Mom!" Amelia ran over, panicked.
"I'm fine," Sophia grunted, struggling to get up.
Seeing her mom in such a state, Amelia lost it, grabbing cakes and dishes from the table and hurling them at Ethan. "Ethan, go to hell!"
The party turned into a circus, with everyone watching. Ethan dodged left and right, avoiding the flying dishes and cakes.
Susan shook her head. This party had turned into a joke.
Sophia and Amelia were making fools of themselves, becoming the laughingstock of the Maple Valley business community. Dominic's face was ashen, too angry to speak.
Just then, an organizer, flanked by several security guards, walked up.
The organizer glanced at the mess and sternly said to Sophia and Amelia, "Ladies, you've seriously disrupted the party. Please leave immediately!"
Sophia pointed at Ethan. "He started it by hitting my daughter. You should make him leave!"
Ethan smirked, putting his arm around his girlfriend's shoulder. "This lady first threw red wine on my girlfriend's face. We can check the surveillance footage. But I don't want to argue with such low-class people. I was just about to take my girlfriend home to change. Goodbye!"
With that, Ethan walked out with his girlfriend.
Watching them leave, Amelia and Sophia were fuming but helpless.
