Chapter 148 Surprise
Here were the messages from 7 AM this morning until now.
[You up?]
[Still sleeping?]
[Wake up, lazy!]
[Heading to work.]
[At the office now.]
[Morning meeting done.]
[Reviewed some docs.]
Susan knew Seb was usually quiet, so all these messages shocked her. Was this really the Seb she knew?
Feeling a mix of surprise and happiness, Susan replied: [I'm up, don't worry. Job hunting today. I'll contact you in a few days.]
After sending the message, Susan spaced out, thinking, 'I'll wait for Seb to sort things out with Cynthia before reaching out. Meanwhile, I'll focus on job hunting.'
Soon, a message came in. Susan opened it and frowned.
[Okay.]
She thought Seb might pester her more, but he just sent that one word. A bit disappointed, she got dressed and left the house with renewed energy.
A few days later, Susan landed a job as an accountant at a small clothing company, starting next Monday.
After the interview, she bought groceries and headed home, planning to celebrate with Isabella. It wasn't her dream job, but it was a start.
As she took out her key, she saw Seb at her door in a black cashmere coat.
"Why are you here?" she asked, surprised and happy.
"I just dropped Cynthia at the airport and came straight here," Seb said, looking deeply at her.
Susan felt relieved. Cynthia, who had been a barrier between them, was finally gone. Did this mean no more obstacles?
"Have you been waiting long?" She noticed several cigarette butts on the ground and waved away the smoky air.
"Two hours," Seb replied, stepping closer.
"Why didn't you call me?" she asked.
"I wanted to see your reaction," Seb said, pulling her into his arms.
Susan smiled and looked up at him. "Satisfied?"
"Not yet," Seb shook his head.
"What would make you satisfied?" she teased with a bright smile.
Seb cupped her face and whispered in her ear, "Passionate like fire."
His warm breath made her blush. She knew what he wanted next. "Not serious!" she muttered, looking down.
"What counts as serious?" Seb's hand caressed her back, his voice growing huskier.
"Not talking to you," Susan said, pushing him away and unlocking the door.
Once inside, Susan put down the groceries, took off her coat, and as she bent down to change her shoes, Seb suddenly wrapped his arms around her waist from behind!
Her heart skipped a beat, and she straightened up, leaning against Seb. Her body went limp the moment she touched him.
Seb held her close, his cheek against hers, and they could hear each other's breathing.
His broad chest and strong arms surrounded her, making her feel incredibly comforted and secure. If Seb could hold her like this forever, their future would surely be happy and fulfilling.
Just as Susan closed her eyes, dreaming of their future, Seb's hand started to play with her cheek, then moved to her neck.
"Stop, it tickles," Susan laughed, shrinking her neck. It was too ticklish; she couldn't stand it.
Seb, a bit impatient, said hoarsely, "Such a sacred moment, can't you stop laughing?"
Susan pretended to be clueless, pushed him away, and turned to ask, "What sacred moment?"
"Our most sacred moment," Seb said seriously, expressionless.
Susan rolled her eyes, picked up the groceries, and said, "I'm going to cook. You can experience it yourself!"
She turned and walked towards the kitchen.
But after just two steps, Seb lifted her off the ground, startling her so much she dropped the vegetables!
Seb spun her around, making Susan quickly wrap her arms around his neck, afraid he might drop her.
"What are you doing? Put me down!" Susan screamed.
Seb smiled triumphantly and carried her into the bedroom.
He threw her onto the soft bed, then turned and closed the sliding door separating the bedroom from the living room.
"What are you doing?" Susan asked as he walked to the window and drew the curtains.
The room dimmed instantly, and Susan tried to get up and escape.
But Seb pounced on her!
After the sound of clothes rustling, Susan went from initial resistance to full cooperation in less than a minute.
Seb knew every sensitive spot on her body. Just a slight touch, and she would comply.
Although Susan always felt a bit regretful afterward, she thoroughly enjoyed it every time they made love.
So much so that she completely forgot Isabella was coming over for dinner.
While Susan and Seb were enjoying themselves, the front door opened with a key.
Separated only by a sliding door, they didn't hear Isabella enter.
It wasn't until Isabella forcefully pulled open the sliding door and spoke loudly.
"Didn't you say to come celebrate? Why are you lying down instead of cooking..."
Isabella's words stopped mid-sentence. Seeing the bedroom scene, her eyes nearly popped out!
Susan and Seb, caught in the act, suddenly heard the noise and looked towards the sliding door simultaneously. Time seemed to stand still.
