Chapter 704 Attentive Care
Seb just glanced at her and then his eyes returned to the newspaper. "Leon just brought it over."
Hearing this, Susan looked down at the light blue pajamas in the bag she was holding.
She had just bought them at the supermarket, and it seemed her purchase was in vain.
The next moment, Susan turned and walked into the bedroom.
She opened the wardrobe door, intending to quietly place the pajamas inside, but when she looked up, she saw several men's clothes hanging there.
Upon closer inspection, there were two suits, a coat, and several shirts and ties.
Seeing these men's clothes, Susan knew they must have been brought over by Leon as well.
But did he really need to bring so many? Was he planning to stay here?
Susan felt very conflicted at this moment. Was she happy? Sad? Given the current state of their relationship, could they truly coexist under the same roof?
However, Susan knew he must be very vulnerable right now. She actually hoped to accompany him through this difficult period, as she didn't want to see him fall apart.
Susan planned to put the pajamas in the drawer where she kept her underwear, but suddenly noticed that several pairs of men's striped underwear had appeared among her bras and panties.
She picked up one pair, her face blushing!
These must have been brought over by Leon too. Why did he bring so many? What was he thinking?
Just then, she heard footsteps approaching.
Susan looked up to see Seb standing in front of her.
At that moment, Susan was still holding his underwear.
She felt extremely awkward, not knowing whether to put it back or not.
Seb glanced at the underwear in Susan's hand and calmly said, "I'll be staying here for a couple of days. During this time, I'll need you to take care of my daily needs."
He made it sound so easy. Susan quickly threw the underwear back into the drawer and shut the wardrobe door.
"I have to work!" Susan quickly made an excuse, feeling anxious about spending several days in the same space with him.
"Take a couple of days off. I'll compensate your firm double for any losses," Seb said, then turned and got back into Susan's bed.
Seeing his matter-of-fact attitude and how he used money to solve problems, Susan couldn't help but say, "Do you think I enjoy taking care of you?"
The next moment, Seb, lying on the pillow, said, "You can spend the weekends at the villa with the kids this month."
After saying that, he closed his eyes.
Hearing this, Susan's face lit up with joy.
But she still pouted at Seb, who had his eyes closed, and then turned to the kitchen to prepare lunch.
Susan spent over two hours and finally had six dishes and a soup ready by noon.
Seb didn't need an invitation; he was already sitting at the dining table, waiting.
Susan thought it would just be the two of them eating, so the portions were small. However, she barely felt half-full because Seb almost ate everything.
"Just enough," he declared, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Not too much, just enough to fill the stomach."
Hearing this, Susan's eyes nearly popped out.
Six dishes and a soup, and she had only tasted a bit. He said he was just full. Susan wondered if he hadn't been eating lately.
In the afternoon, Seb took a shower and then a nap.
Susan was busy cleaning up the table, tidying the bathroom after his shower, and organizing the house. She only took a short nap on the couch before starting to prepare four dishes and a soup for dinner.
At dinner, Susan finally ate her fill, while Seb didn't eat much.
In the evening, after cleaning up the table and taking a shower, Susan was so tired she didn't want to move. She had barely slept the night before.
Seb was reading in the bedroom, while Susan watched TV on the living room couch.
She didn't go into the bedroom, and he didn't come out to the living room.
They didn't have much to say to each other beyond necessary conversation.
Susan started by sitting and watching TV, then she leaned sideways on the couch, and finally, probably due to being too tired and exhausted, she fell asleep on the couch.
At some point, Susan felt her body suddenly lift off the ground, and then her face touched something soft and springy!
Susan suddenly opened her eyes and found herself being carried horizontally by him, heading towards the bedroom.
The bedroom's wall lamp cast a dim light as Seb gently placed Susan on the bed.
At that moment, Susan quickly closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
The scene was too intimate and sensitive; she didn't know how to respond.
Susan felt her cheeks and neck tingling, knowing without looking that he had secretly kissed her.
At that moment, Susan's heart completely melted.
All her grievances vanished.
Fortunately, he didn't take any further action; otherwise, she wouldn't have been able to keep up the pretense.
That night, Susan slept very deeply.
Perhaps it was because of the warm embrace she could rely on, providing both warmth and a sense of security.
"Rylee! No, Mom, don't go, don't go! Ah." In the middle of the night, Susan suddenly heard some murmuring.
She opened her eyes to see Seb sitting up abruptly beside her.
Susan knew he was having a nightmare and quickly sat up, reaching out to touch his forehead and back, which were covered in cold sweat.
"Did you have a nightmare?" Susan asked worriedly.
Seb realized he had been dreaming and relaxed, leaning against the headboard, but the dream still left him shaken.
"I dreamed about my mom and Rylee," Seb said in a low, sorrowful voice.
"It was just a dream, not real!" Susan said, wiping the sweat from Seb's forehead with a tissue.
"Rylee kept calling for me to save her, but I couldn't do anything!" Seb said, filled with guilt.
Seeing Seb's state, Susan tentatively asked, "Accidents happen, but why did Rylee die on the spot while Andrew only had minor injuries?"
Hearing Susan's words, Seb's eyes darkened as he stared at her.
Susan knew Seb's unresolved issues and, after a moment's hesitation, said, "Do you still think I was in cahoots with Andrew? That we planned to approach you and Rylee separately?"
