Chapter 341 Moving into His House
Anyway, Susan just couldn't forgive Seb; she never could let it slide.
But damn, she still loved Seb so much she couldn't even think about another guy, no matter how awesome that guy was.
Seeing Susan stay quiet for so long, Seb felt all kinds of mixed up. He looked up and told Leon up front, "Leon, take Susan home!"
The car turned towards Susan's place, and she quietly pulled her hand away from Seb's warm, big hand.
Inside the car, it was dead silent; neither of them said a word.
But Susan felt her heart chill out a bit, not as freaked out. She knew Seb had skills; with him around, this mess could definitely get sorted.
Before long, Leon parked the car under Susan's apartment building.
Susan looked up and locked eyes with Seb.
Facing his eyes, Susan felt a bit uneasy. She looked down and mumbled, "I'm going back."
After saying that, Susan turned and reached for the car door.
But just as her hand touched the door, a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist!
Susan's heart skipped a beat. She had no clue what he wanted. A bad thought hit her, 'Is he gonna use some excuse to keep me from going home?'
The next moment, Seb's voice hit her ears. "Who are those people?"
Susan looked up and saw Seb's eyes on Leon up front. Turned out he was talking to Leon.
Leon stared out the car window for a while. Following his gaze, Susan saw three or four sketchy-looking guys hanging around her building.
Susan couldn't help but be a bit surprised. Even though the apartment she and Isabella rented wasn't fancy, there usually weren't shady folks hanging around. What was up today?
Leon turned back to Seb and said, "I think these guys were sent by Skyreach Group to mess with Ms. Wilson. Skyreach Group's got some underworld ties. I think Ms. Wilson shouldn't go home right now. These guys are pretty ruthless and will do anything."
Hearing this, Susan's mind went blank.
Fiona and Elliott were seriously evil, trying to ruin her completely. Susan cursed Fiona and Elliott's whole family in her head!
Seb frowned, then let go of Susan's wrist. She immediately rubbed her wrist, which hurt a bit from his grip.
"Sorry, I was in a rush," Seb tried to explain.
"It's okay," Susan quickly shook her head. After all, Seb was looking out for her. If she got out of the car, who knew what might happen.
Seb then asked, "You can't go home right now. Should I get you a hotel room, or do you wanna crash at my place for a few days?"
"I'll find a motel myself." She couldn't afford a hotel, costing hundreds of bucks a night, and she didn't know how many days she'd need to lay low.
At this point, Leon had already started the car, easing it forward.
"Don't sweat the cost," Seb knew Susan wouldn't crash at his place, but he didn't feel right leaving her in some sketchy motel.
Susan knew Seb meant well, but there was a limit to accepting his kindness. She and Seb were pretty much done.
"I'm already super grateful you're helping clear my name. You don't have to..." Susan started to say.
Before Seb could jump in, Leon, driving up front, cut in, "Ms. Wilson, I know it's not my place, but the Skyreach Group folks are no joke. They might track you down through motel records. I really think you should stay at Mr. Anderson's place for now. Plus, you can look after Hayden and Spring. Staying out with them would be risky."
Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but mull it over.
Leon had a point. In a motel, she couldn't take care of Hayden and Spring. Those underworld guys were ruthless; she couldn't risk the kids' safety. Besides, if she didn't see Hayden and Spring for days, she'd lose it.
But the idea of staying at Seb's place freaked her out. Living under the same roof with him would be a real test.
While Susan was hesitating, Seb spoke up, "If you don't wanna see me, I can move out and leave the house to you and the kids!"
Hearing this, Susan looked up and met Seb's deep eyes.
"No." It was Seb's house; how could she move in and make him move out?
Seb didn't give Susan a chance to argue. "Spring cried all last night, and Hayden was heartbroken and couldn't sleep. The kids need you!"
Seb's words hit Susan right in the feels. Hearing this, she immediately asked anxiously, "How's Spring now? Did Hayden go to preschool today?"
Seeing Susan's worry, Seb's lips curled slightly. It seemed Hayden and Spring were her soft spots.
"Hayden went to preschool. I called Mary, and she said Spring was also pretty fussy during the day," Seb replied.
Hearing this, Susan quickly said to Leon, "Mr. Johnson, please step on it!"
"Okay," Leon nodded and hit the gas.
Seeing Susan anxiously looking ahead, Seb couldn't help but feel a bit guilty. 'God, forgive me.' He indeed didn't lie; just stretched the truth a bit. Spring wasn't crying that badly, but she was constantly asking for Susan. Hayden wasn't so anxious he couldn't sleep, but he was doing his best to keep Spring happy.
As soon as Susan entered the villa with Seb, she didn't even bother to change her shoes and walked into the foyer in her high heels.
Seb followed behind her, his eyes full of gentleness.
Susan walked into the living room and saw Mary coming out of the bedroom.
"Ms. Wilson, you're here?" Mary was visibly surprised to see Susan, then smiled and greeted her.
