Chapter 1310 You Are Still My Wife

When Cecilia heard this, her voice rose in anger. "You're accusing me of cheating just because of these photos? That's ridiculous!"

Daryl nodded furiously, "Yeah, maybe the photos alone aren't enough. But what about this?"

With that, Daryl opened the drawer, and tossed an item onto the table corner with disgust.

Cecilia looked down at the white handkerchief on the table, picked it up, and frowned, "This must be Elijah's."

"Yeah, it's Elijah's. His handkerchiefs always have a ship embroidered on them. But this one was in your vanity drawer. Elijah always carries his handkerchiefs with him. How do you explain that?" Daryl demanded.

Cecilia found it almost laughable that this handkerchief had become evidence against her.

She explained, "This handkerchief is Elijah's. That day, I was changing the bed sheets for him, and my hands got dirty. He gave me his handkerchief to clean my hands. I dirtied it, so I said I'd wash it and return it to him. But after washing it, I just put it in the vanity drawer and forgot about it."

Daryl sneered, "How convenient."

"It's the truth," Cecilia insisted confidently.

Daryl, now even more agitated, questioned, "One coincidence, two coincidences, how many coincidences can there be? When your brother's wife was in labor, why did you call Elijah instead of me? Elijah not only used all his connections but also traveled far to see you and comforted you in his arms. You say there's nothing between you two? Only a fool would believe that. I'm not a fool, Cecilia. You think I’ll believe whatever you say?"

Cecilia paused, stepping back and stammering, "You were in Skyhaven negotiating. I didn't want to disturb you, so I called Elijah. I didn't know he would come over. I was just too upset, thinking about our lost child, and I cried. Elijah comforted me, and then you showed up. Daryl, please believe me, there's nothing between Elijah and me. I only love you. How could I ever be involved with Daryl?"

"I told you before I left for Skyhaven, if you had an emergency, you could call Douglas. Why did you have to call Elijah? Who would believe there's nothing between you two?" Daryl was deaf to her explanations.

Cecilia looked at Daryl in disappointment. His eyes were filled with discontent, his face dark.

She realized that no matter how much she explained, he wouldn't believe her. Their relationship was already falling apart.

Wasn't this what she wanted? To leave, to divorce, to move on separately. Maybe this way, with him hating her, he could move on more easily. Though it was painful, he would forget her and start a new life.

Cecilia then said, "Since you won't believe anything I say, there's nothing more to discuss. Let's just sign the divorce papers and go our separate ways."

Daryl was stunned, staring at Cecilia with eyes that could kill.

His gaze made her heart pound with fear. He stepped forward, and Cecilia instinctively stepped back.

Daryl quickly closed the distance, grabbing her wrist and demanding, "What did you just say? Say it again!"

Seeing his fierce expression, Cecilia clenched her fist and mustered the courage to say, "You think I'm unfaithful? Then why keep me around?"

Daryl, enraged, shouted, "Cecilia, let me tell you, only I can decide to leave you. Until I say so, you can forget about divorce. Don't ever mention it again, or you'll face the consequences!"

Cecilia frowned, "What do you want? You don't believe me, and you won't divorce me. What do you want?"

Daryl narrowed his eyes—a look that sent a shiver down Cecilia's spine.

He grabbed her wrist and pressed the intercom on his desk. "Douglas, get the car ready!"

Cecilia's eyes widened in shock. Where was he taking her?

She struggled to free herself, but Daryl dragged her out of the office.

As they exited, the secretary stood up, bewildered by the sight of Daryl forcibly taking Cecilia away but didn't dare to ask, only watching them leave.

In the hallway, Cecilia felt humiliated. This was Fields Group, and any employee could see them. She stopped struggling, but Daryl's pace was fast, and in her high heels, she had to jog to keep up, fearing she might fall.

They entered the elevator, and as the doors closed, Cecilia frowned and demanded, "Daryl, where are you taking me? Let go of me, do you hear?"

"Shut up!" Daryl snapped, clearly irritated.

Cecilia fell silent.

Daryl glanced at her with disdain, "You're still my wife. Wherever I take you, you go."

Cecilia retorted angrily, "Even if we're still married, I have my freedom."

"You had too much freedom before, which led to your disgraceful actions. From now on, you won't embarrass me again!" Daryl shouted.

Cecilia felt a surge of shame and anger, struggling with all her might, even kicking Daryl with her high heels. But Daryl bent down and hoisted her over his shoulder.
