Chapter 708 This Isn't Bought for You

"Aren't you also enjoying your time alone with him? So, are you in bed now or just got out?" Isabella teased on the other end.

Susan's cheeks flushed. She caught Seb's eye across the room – he was watching her, a curious expression on his face.

Susan blushed and quickly ran to the kitchen to take the call.

Since there was a glass door between the kitchen and the living room, she closed it to muffle the sound.

Lowering her voice, she said, "You're one to talk. Always projecting your own scandalous thoughts onto others."

"Just a little harmless teasing," Isabella said with a pout in her voice. "Where's your sense of humor?"

"Are you guys done or haven't started yet? How do you have time to call and chat with me?" Susan began to tease Isabella back, thinking, 'Anyway, he shouldn't be able to hear me from the bedroom.'

"Leon is taking a shower," Isabella said.

Hearing this, Susan laughed. "I see, so you had time to call me because he's in the shower? Is this a prelude or a post-cleanup?"

Isabella laughed. "One little tease and you're already making assumptions! Someone's a bit hormonal today. What's the matter, hasn't Seb taken care of that yet?"

Susan frowned and warned, "If you have nothing to say, I'm hanging up."

"Wait! I really have something to ask you," Isabella quickly said when she heard Susan was about to hang up.

"Make it quick," Susan urged.

"Are the roses Seb gave you tonight beautiful? How did you feel when you received them?" Isabella asked.

Hearing this, Susan was stunned for a moment.

The next moment, she said, "Leon told you, didn't he?"

"Of course," Isabella replied.

"Leon wanted to give you flowers, and Seb just asked him to bring a bouquet along. And it wasn't for me; it was to beautify my living room. Got it?" Susan said in a lifeless tone.

Isabella paused for a moment and said, "Why do I hear that Leon wanted to give me my favorite daisies, and Seb asked him to bring a bouquet of red roses? The store Leon went to had sold out of red roses, so he asked Seb if other flowers would do. Seb insisted on red roses, so Leon had to drive him to five different flower shops before they finally found the red roses. It was a bit strange today; red roses were in high demand!"

Hearing this, Susan said, "Looks like he likes red roses."

"No, Leon said Seb's favorite flowers are tulips. Red roses symbolize love; it's the best way for a man to express his love to a woman. His intention is obvious!" Isabella said.

"He didn't say they were for me," Susan pouted.

At this point, Isabella got a bit anxious. "You haven't just met Seb today. You know his stubborn nature. He wanted to give them to you, but he wouldn't say it was specifically for you. He'd just say it was on the way. Otherwise, why would he go to five or six stores to get red roses to beautify your living room? Any flower could do that. Seb values his time the most. Why are you so dense today?"

Listening to Isabella, Susan suddenly realized!

Recalling Seb's expression during dinner, she knew he was teasing her on purpose.

Then, Isabella whispered, "Leon is done showering. I have to go, bye!"

Susan stared at the flashing screen of her phone for a moment, then turned and opened the sliding door, walking straight into the bedroom.

As soon as she stepped into the bedroom, Seb, who was leaning against the headboard looking at his laptop, asked without looking up, "Who were you on the phone with for so long?"

"My cousin," Susan stammered in response.

Hearing this, Seb looked up, his deep eyes staring at Susan. "At this hour, why is your cousin calling you?"

Susan raised her chin and replied, "I told my cousin I bought him a set of pajamas last time, blue ones that suit him well. He called to ask when I would give them to him because he doesn't have any pajamas to wear."

As Susan spoke, she stared at the pajamas Seb was wearing. The implication was clear: these pajamas were meant for someone else, not for him.

Their eyes met and hung in the air for a beat. "Pajamas are an intimate gift, something you give a husband or a boyfriend," Seb finally said, his voice low. "Giving them to your cousin is inappropriate, it could lead to misunderstandings with his wife. I suggest you reconsider."

"My cousin and I are practically siblings, it's different. Besides, his wife wouldn't misunderstand," Susan countered. "But you, wearing those pajamas... what does that say about us? We're not married, not even dating, are we?"

Hearing this, Seb frowned, tossed his laptop aside, got out of bed, and walked over to Susan.

He looked down at Susan for a moment, then suddenly grabbed her waist, pulling her close to him.

Susan, unsteady on her feet, placed her hands on Seb's broad chest.

"I'm the father of your children. Wearing the pajamas you bought isn't too much, is it?" Seb said, staring down at Susan.

Feeling the strength of his hand on her waist, Susan's body was almost pressed against his, and the room's temperature instantly rose!

Susan blushed and tried to push him away, but he wouldn't let her.

"It's just a pair of pajamas, not worth much. If you want to wear them, go ahead. I'll buy another set for my cousin..." Susan said.

But before she could finish, he lowered his head and kissed her on the lips!

Susan couldn't say another word.

His kiss was passionate, and just as Susan was getting dizzy from it, he suddenly stopped.

Susan opened her eyes and met his deep gaze, feeling a flutter in her heart.

At this moment, Seb suddenly touched his nose and said, "I remember your cousin is about 5'7", right? Not very heavy, around 130 pounds?"

Susan nodded and said, "Yes, my cousin has always been frail since childhood, so he's not very tall. Why?"

Susan looked at Seb with puzzled eyes, waiting for an explanation.
