Chapter 895 Do You Think I'll Let You Succeed
"I did wake up in your bed, but nothing happened between us," Seb said, trying to stay calm.
Ellie, on the other hand, was livid. "Seb, don't be so shameless. You might not love me, but that night, we did sleep together. If you don't believe me, just wait until I give birth. We'll do a paternity test and see if it's your kid!"
Seb and Ellie were practically at each other's throats, their eyes blazing with anger.
Susan's heart ached hearing this, but she knew Seb wasn't to blame. She loved him, and that meant accepting everything about him. It was time to step up.
Susan walked over to Seb, took his arm, and said to Ellie, "Ellie, even if you're pregnant with Seb's kid, it doesn't change the fact that he doesn't love you. Stop using the baby as an excuse. If you want to have this baby, Seb will support you and the kid. When the baby is born, if you want to raise it, it's okay. If not, give it to us, and we'll take care of it. If you choose to have an abortion, Seb will make it up to you. It's your choice, and no one will force you."
Ellie was stunned by Susan's words.
She stared at Susan and asked, "You really don't care? Your husband has a kid with another woman, and you're just fine with it? Susan, I can't believe it. Now I see why Seb likes you—you're so willing to sacrifice your self-respect just to be his accessory."
Susan smiled slightly, then looked up at Seb and said softly, "I love him, so I embrace everything about him—his strengths and weaknesses, all the responsibilities he carries, and even the troubles he causes—because I want him as a whole, complete person."
Seb and Susan locked eyes, and his face was full of emotion.
He reached out and touched Susan's face, asking, "You really don't mind?"
Susan nodded.
Hearing this, Seb smiled.
Then, he reached out and held Susan's hand tightly, saying, "Don't worry, I've never cheated on you."
Susan frowned, not understanding what he meant.
The next moment, Seb turned and walked to the desk, opened a drawer, took out a stack of documents, and threw them in front of Ellie.
"See for yourself, I don't want to waste my breath." Seb's attitude towards Ellie was ice-cold, making everyone shiver.
Glancing at the documents, Ellie reached out and took them. After looking at them for a moment, her face turned ashen.
"Where did you get these documents?" Ellie then fearfully threw the documents on the carpet.
Seeing Ellie on the verge of collapse, Seb sneered. "You thought you had everything planned out, but if you don't want people to know, you shouldn't have done it in the first place. When I found that spell under my bed, I started to suspect you. I didn't expect my gut feeling to be right. You not only made me temporarily forget Susan and treat you like my lover, but you also tried to get pregnant with my kid to tie me down for life. You're truly ruthless and unscrupulous!"
Ellie laughed bitterly, "Yeah, you're right. Even after you forget Susan, you're still attracted to her again. And I was scared that even if I married you, you'd leave me for her. So I wanted a kid with you."
"So you stole my sperm to do IVF," Seb accused.
Susan was stunned.
The baby in Ellie's belly was conceived through stolen sperm and IVF.
This was simply unbelievable. Such a thing happening to her felt like a bad dream.
Susan was now convinced that Seb had never slept with Ellie. He was still the same man who belonged only to her.
Thinking of this, Susan wondered if she should be happy. He had only ever been with her, but there was still another woman pregnant with his kid.
Feeling troubled, Susan knew she had to face it calmly because she had to help Seb out of this trouble.
Hearing Seb's words, Ellie completely lost it. She slapped the table and angrily said, "Do you think I wanted to steal your sperm while you were drunk? I spent more than three months with you, but you never slept with me. You'd rather come back and take cold showers than make love to me. Seb, how am I worse than her?"
Ellie pointed angrily at Susan, tears streaming down her face. "In terms of looks, I'm prettier than her; in terms of talent, I'm a top student who studied abroad; in terms of family background, my parents are officials; in terms of feelings for you, I believe I'm no less than her. Why? Why don't you have any feelings for me? What has she done to enchant you?"
Seb coldly stared at the furious Ellie, put his arm around Susan's shoulder, and said calmly, "I don't care how pretty or talented you are. Love is about mutual attraction. Even if I had to choose again, it would still be Susan."
Susan looked up at Seb, his words making her heart feel like it was being warmed by a hot spring, so much so that she couldn't speak.
Ellie, however, was so provoked by these words that she swept everything off the corner of the desk onto the floor in a frenzy.
The floor was soon a mess.
Ellie pointed at Seb and Susan and sneered. "Fine, you two go ahead and love each other! Seb, I will make you regret this. Just wait, my kid will avenge me in twenty years. It will make your lives miserable forever!"
Hearing Ellie's sinister thoughts, Susan couldn't help but gasp.
At this moment, Seb tightened his grip on Susan's shoulder and sneered at Ellie. "Ellie, since I already knew about your plot, do you think I would let you succeed so easily?"
