Chapter 835 A Chance Encounter
In the next few days, Susan didn't get a chance to get close to Seb again.
She could only catch glimpses of him from a distance, but his legs seemed to be getting better, which made her feel a bit relieved.
Every night, Susan slept holding Seb's suit, breathing in his scent to help her fall asleep.
A few days later, Susan couldn't wait any longer and set up a meeting with Leon.
In a cozy café with soft music playing, Susan and Leon sat by a window.
"Hasn't he gone out at all? Why didn't you call me?" Susan asked Leon, clearly anxious.
Leon frowned and replied, "Mr. Anderson's been suspicious of me since the last incident, thinking I told you where he was. Plus, he hasn't gone out, so there hasn't been a chance."
"Did he blame you?" Susan asked, frowning.
Leon gave a faint smile and said, "Don't worry, I've been with Mr. Anderson for years. Even if he scolds me a bit, it's no big deal."
"I'm sorry," Susan said, feeling guilty.
After a moment, Leon's face turned serious. "Andrew was executed a few days ago."
Susan was stunned.
Leon continued, "That's probably why Mr. Anderson's been staying in; he's in a bad mood."
Susan nodded, thinking, 'Andrew finally got what he deserved, but it's sad to see a life end like that. He could've done so much, but his greed ruined him.'
After a long silence, Susan asked, "Do you know where Andrew's grave is?"
Leon took out a card from his pocket and placed it in front of Susan. "It's on this card."
Looking at the address on the card, Susan frowned. "How do you know this so well?"
Leon replied, "Mr. Anderson sent someone to handle Andrew's body."
Susan frowned, wondering, 'Doesn't Seb hate Andrew so much that he wants to tear him apart? Why would he handle his funeral?'
Leon explained, "Andrew had no relatives except for his elderly parents. Since he went to prison, their health has been poor, and they couldn't handle his funeral. One day, Mr. Anderson went to the cemetery to visit Rylee and happened to meet Andrew's parents there. He felt compassion and helped them with Andrew's funeral."
Susan nodded. She knew Seb too well; despite his cold exterior, he was a kind person.
She also felt sympathy for Andrew's parents.
"Why do you want Andrew's grave address?" Leon asked, puzzled.
Susan sighed. "I want to visit his grave, but I'm not sure if I should."
She had no feelings for Andrew and was angry about what he did. But now that he had received his punishment, their grievances had long dissipated. She just wanted to close this chapter in her life.
Leon then said, "I'll try to let you know when Mr. Anderson goes out in a few days."
"Thank you," Susan said.
"I'll be going now," Leon said after sitting for a while, then got up to leave.
Susan suddenly said, "Isabella's doing well, you can relax."
Leon paused, then smiled and nodded before heading out.
A few days later, Susan finally mustered the courage to visit the suburban cemetery with a bouquet of flowers.
Even though it was summer, the cemetery felt cold, with tall pines blocking out the bright sun.
The place was desolate, and Susan felt a bit uneasy.
After wandering for a while, she finally found Andrew's grave.
But there was a dark figure standing in front of the tombstone.
The tall, burly figure was holding a cane, and Susan immediately recognized it as Seb.
While Susan was puzzled by his presence, Seb, standing in front of the tombstone, seemed to hear her approach. He turned around and saw Susan standing not far away.
Seb looked visibly startled.
Suddenly seeing him, Susan felt a rush of happiness because she cherished every chance to see him. Otherwise, she even had no chance to remind him of her.
The next moment, Susan stepped forward, glanced at the flowers in front of the tombstone, and said, "Didn't expect to see you here too."
Seb's face turned cold, and he said, "I'm not surprised you came."
"What do you mean by that?" Susan caught the underlying meaning in his words.
"You had a deep connection with him; he was your first love. Naturally, you can't forget him. And you're loyal to him; even now, you still come to see him. Must be true feelings, right?" Seb's eyes bore into Susan, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Susan wanted to retort but held back her indignation and ignored Seb.
She placed the flowers she was holding in front of the tombstone, looked at the photo on it, and frowned. "You did so many wrong things. Ending up like this is what you deserve. I hope you can repent when you see Rylee and be a better person in your next life. Don't let down those who love you!"
Looking at Andrew's photo, Susan felt a surge of emotions.
Seb, hearing this, watched coldly without saying a word.
At that moment, a voice suddenly came from somewhere.
"Slow down, your legs aren't good, don't fall!" an old man said.
"You slow down too. I'm just worried Andrew is waiting for us," an old woman choked with emotion.
Hearing the elderly couple's voices, Susan was stunned. Before she could react, Seb reached out, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her behind a large pine tree.
"You," Susan started to speak.
Seb made a shushing gesture.
Seeing him signal her to be quiet, Susan quickly closed her mouth.
Then, Susan peeked out from behind the pine tree and saw an elderly couple, supporting each other, walking to Andrew's grave.
Susan immediately recognized them as Andrew's parents. In the past year or two, they were much older, and their health seemed very poor.
