Chapter 634 Teasing
Not long after, Leon parked the car under the apartment building where Isabella was renting.
Susan, who had been silent all this time, glanced at Seb out of the corner of her eye. He was looking straight ahead, seemingly uninterested in her getting out of the car.
So, Susan then said to Leon in the front, "Leon, thank you for the ride." After saying that, she turned and got out of the car.
Without looking back, Susan walked towards the hallway. Only when she estimated that Leon had driven away did she turn around.
Sure enough, the car was long gone, and Susan breathed a sigh of relief.
As soon as she walked in, Isabella smiled and said, "You're finally back! I ordered takeout, come and eat!"
Seeing that Isabella had ordered Mexican food, Susan smiled and said, "How did you know I wanted Mexican food?"
"Because I know you inside out," Isabella said, sitting at the dining table.
Susan quickly washed her hands, changed her clothes, and sat across from Isabella, picking up a knife and fork to eat.
As they ate, Isabella curiously asked, "Hey, did Seb pick you up from the hospital today?"
"No," Susan replied after thinking for a moment. Seb had said it was just on the way to the company, so he definitely didn't come to pick her up specifically.
Hearing this, Isabella frowned and said, "I think you've really hurt Seb this time."
Susan suddenly lost her appetite. In the matter with George, she had indeed hurt Seb. She just wanted him to give up completely, but she didn't expect things to turn out this way.
Seeing Susan not speaking for a long time, Isabella stared at her and asked, "Hey, why aren't you talking? Are you feeling bad?"
"He has nothing to do with me now, why should I feel bad for him?" Susan said, lowering her head to eat, though she found the food tasteless at the moment.
At this point, Isabella shook her head. "Actually, Seb loves you, and you love him. If it were me, I wouldn't care what Carol said on her deathbed. I would just want to be happy with Seb."
Hearing this, Susan looked up at Isabella. She used to be like Isabella, daring to love and hate, to fight and risk everything. But now, she didn't dare to do anything.
Maybe she had too many concerns? She worried about Seb's feelings, his happiness, and the children's well-being.
In fact, Susan envied people like Isabella, who didn't have to consider so much and could act on their impulses.
Then, Susan looked up and said, "Today I asked Leon a question."
"What question?" Isabella asked curiously when she heard Susan mention Leon.
"I asked Leon if he liked you," Susan replied, looking at Isabella.
Hearing this, Isabella was stunned for a moment, then suddenly put her knife and fork down heavily on the table and said loudly, "Are you crazy? Why did you ask him that? You..."
Seeing Isabella so anxious that she couldn't speak, Susan just smiled.
Isabella knew it was useless to scold her since the question had already been asked. But she was curious about Leon's answer, so she pretended not to care and asked, "What did he say?"
"Guess," Susan teased, looking at Isabella.
At this point, Isabella stared at Susan for a moment, then suddenly realized. "I get it, you must be joking with me."
The next moment, Susan suddenly lost the desire to tease Isabella because she wanted Isabella to have a good ending soon. Leon was indeed someone who could be trusted for life, and Susan didn't want Isabella to miss out on him.
Then, Susan stopped smiling and said seriously, "Leon probably didn't expect me to ask him that question, so he was stunned for a long time before he said a lot of things to me..."
"Can you get to the point? It's really frustrating!" Isabella, being impatient, couldn't wait any longer.
Susan smiled and said, "Leon said that if he doesn't see you for a day, he misses you. But when he sees you, he can't help but argue with you. If he doesn't argue with you for a day, he feels uneasy."
Hearing this, Isabella hesitated for a moment and then said, "And?"
"That's it," Susan said, spreading her hands.
"That's it? Just that?" Isabella immediately frowned.
"That's all," Susan replied.
The next moment, Isabella lost her appetite and complained, "What kind of answer is that? If he doesn't like me, he should just say so. Why all the cryptic nonsense?"
Hearing this, Susan laughed and said, "Even if you haven't been in a relationship, you've seen others in love. Can't you tell from such obvious words?"
"Could it be that he means he likes me?" Isabella squinted at Susan.
"He more than likes you, Isabella," Susan said, her voice filled with warmth. "He's smitten."
Hearing this, Isabella was stunned!
After a while, she said in disbelief, "Really? I'm serious now, don't joke with me!"
Seeing Isabella's serious expression, Susan knew that Isabella probably liked Leon just as much. She just didn't want to admit it.
"You should trust my experience," Susan said with a smile.
At this point, Isabella suddenly lowered her head and said nothing.
Susan knew it was time to encourage Isabella. Both of them liked each other but just hadn't said it out loud.
"Hey, are you going to George and Maria's wedding tomorrow?" Susan asked while eating Mexican food.
Isabella looked down at her leg, which was still in a cast, and frowned. "They're getting married, and I don't want to cause trouble in my condition."
At this point, Susan looked up and said, "But Leon is going too. Don't you want to see him?"
Hearing this, Isabella hesitated for a moment, then looked at Susan, who was smirking, and said, "You're saying this on purpose, aren't you?"
"Hey, I have good intentions, trying to create opportunities for you," Susan said.
Isabella, however, worriedly said, "Forget it. Even if the opportunity is great, he doesn't say anything and just argues with me. What can I do? I can't be the one to confess to him, right? If he agrees, that's fine. But if he doesn't, wouldn't that be incredibly awkward for me?"
Seeing Isabella's worried face, Susan got up and walked over to her, whispering a few words in her ear.
