Chapter 1041 I Am the Center of Your Life
Hearing that sound and seeing Leon's twisted expression, Isabella was shocked.
The next moment, Isabella looked down at Leon's body and couldn't help but widen her eyes.
She saw the handle of a fruit knife sticking out of Leon's left rib.
"Leon!" Isabella shouted loudly.
At this moment, Bronte was also scared stiff and took two steps back in shock.
She had intended to stab Isabella, to kill the woman who was competing with her for Leon. But she hadn't expected that Leon would use his own body to shield Isabella at the critical moment.
Just now, Bronte hadn't completely given up on Leon; she didn't want to hurt him.
But she hadn't expected that Leon's love for Isabella had really gone so deep that he would die for her. Bronte was heartbroken.
Bright red blood quickly stained Leon's white shirt. Isabella held Leon in her arms and frantically shouted, "Kathy, call the cop and an ambulance right now!"
The bodyguards outside the door heard Isabella's shout and quickly ran in.
The bodyguards saw Leon's condition, froze for a moment, and then immediately took action.
"What are you doing? Let go of me!" Two bodyguards immediately grabbed Bronte's arms, and Bronte naturally resisted fiercely.
Kathy also responded and went to make the call.
At this moment, Leon waved his hand at the bodyguards and said, "Let her go!"
Hearing this, the bodyguards released her.
Holding Leon, Isabella anxiously said, "She tried to murder you, and you still want to let her go? Call the cop right now and let her join her father!"
Isabella was very angry, and her eyes were filled with hatred as she stared at Bronte. Leon's condition was critical, blood was gushing out, and Isabella's hands were trembling. At this moment, Leon smiled at Isabella and said, "Don't worry, I'm fine."
"You're bleeding so much, and you say you're fine?" Isabella was already shedding tears of fear.
"I know my own body," The next moment, Leon said to the bodyguards, "No need to call an ambulance. Go get a stretcher, and we'll go to the hospital ourselves."
"Yes." One bodyguard immediately went to get a stretcher, while the other stayed on site to prevent any further incidents.
Sensing that Leon really didn't want to call the police, Bronte couldn't help but stare at him and ask, "You won't be so generous as to not hold this against me, will you?"
"What more do you want? Do you need Leon to give you his life before you're satisfied?" Isabella shouted at Bronte in dissatisfaction.
At this moment, Leon patted Isabella's hand, signaling her to calm down.
Then, Leon looked at Bronte and slowly said, "Bronte, I believe you were just impulsive and didn't intend to kill anyone. I hope we can settle our grievances here. I owed you a life before, but today I consider it repaid. I have no objection to you inheriting your father's shares in Johnson Corporation. After the merger of Johnson Corporation and Prosperity Group, there will still be a vice president position for you. This is all I can do for you. From now on, let's be strangers with no further entanglements."
Hearing this, Bronte laughed out loud.
After laughing, Bronte looked at Leon and Isabella and said, "I was foolish before. I thought your love for her was just a passing fancy and wouldn't last. But I didn't expect that you would be willing to die for her. Leon, I was wrong. I shouldn't have loved you, because you could never love me back!"
After saying this, Bronte turned and left in despair.
After Bronte left, Leon couldn't hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground.
"Leon!" Seeing this, Isabella was terrified.
At this moment, the bodyguard brought the stretcher, quickly placed Leon on it, and Isabella, stumbling, held Leon's hand as they rushed to the hospital.
The ward was unusually quiet, with the early morning breeze blowing in through the window.
A man in a striped hospital gown lay on the bed, and a short-haired woman leaned against the bedside. Perhaps too tired, she had fallen asleep with her eyes closed.
Leon opened his bleary eyes, glanced around at his surroundings, and realized he was in a hospital.
Turning his head, he saw a tired face close by, but she was asleep, and the tear stains on her face seemed not yet dry.
Seeing this, Leon frowned. He then reached out his large hand and gently touched the tear stains on Isabella's face with his fingertip.
Feeling her cheek being touched, Isabella immediately woke up.
Looking up, she met Leon's eyes.
Seeing that he was awake, Isabella was overjoyed. "You're awake?"
"How long have I been out?" Leon asked, looking at Isabella.
Isabella glanced at the clock on the wall and replied, "You lost a lot of blood and have been in a coma for a day and a night."
As she said this, Isabella's face was full of worry.
Noticing the concern in her eyes, Leon touched her face and smiled. "I can handle losing that much blood."
"Stop it. The doctor said if we had been any later, your life would have been in danger!" Isabella said reproachfully.
"I'll be fine," Leon said, holding Isabella's hand.
At this moment, Isabella rolled her eyes at Leon and said angrily, "You better take care of yourself from now on. If anything happens to you, I'll be a millionaire widow, and don't blame me if I remarry!"
Hearing this, Leon smiled weakly and said, "Then I better hurry and have you give birth to a few more kids. With so many burdens, no one will want you!"
"Stop it." Although Isabella said this, the corners of her mouth turned up, and she couldn't help but smile.
In the days that followed, Isabella naturally took meticulous care of Leon in the hospital.
Isabella was very strict with Leon, forbidding many things from him. Leon often secretly resisted, but if Isabella caught him, he would get a lecture.
One day, Isabella realized that EchoEffect Advertising hadn't contacted her for several days. She was worried something might have happened, so she quickly called them, hoping they could give her a few more days since she needed to take care of Leon until he recovered before she could go to work.
But to her surprise, when she got through, the other end kept explaining that they needed a few more days before she could start work and asked for her understanding, making Isabella feel a bit embarrassed. But this was exactly what she wanted.
After hanging up, Isabella walked into the ward with a happy expression.
"Why are you so happy?" Leon asked, scrutinizing Isabella.
Isabella immediately replied, "The advertising company I applied to said I shouldn't rush and to start work in a few days. I was worried about delaying their work, but now I can take care of you until you're fully recovered."
Hearing this, Leon rolled his eyes and said, "Of course, you need to take care of me until I'm fully recovered before you can go to work. I am the center of your life!"
