Chapter 1210 Just Go Easy on Me

Cecilia had a sweet and restful sleep, as if she hadn't slept this well in a long time.

When She stretched and opened her sleepy eyes, it was already nightfall outside.

She glanced at the clock on the wall and realized it was almost nine o'clock in the evening.

She had slept for a full eight hours.

As if she remembered something, Cecilia suddenly sat up, quickly found her phone at the corner of the bed, and urgently dialed Daryl's number.

Cecilia was eager to see Daryl, so she called him directly instead of contacting Douglas as usual because she couldn't wait any longer.

After two rings, someone answered.

Usually, nine out of ten times, Daryl wouldn't answer his phone.

There was silence on the other end as soon as the call connected.

The nervous Cecilia could hear her own heart beating rapidly.

"Hello?" A second later, his deep and pleasant voice came through.

Hearing his voice, Cecilia mustered up her courage and said, "I want to see you now!"

After blurting out the words, Cecilia suddenly felt a sense of relief, just waiting for his response.

Daryl hesitated momentarily and asked, "Where are you now?"

"At home," Cecilia replied.

Sitting in the brightly lit Fields Group conference room, Daryl glanced at his watch and said, "I'll be there in twenty minutes."

After saying that, Daryl hung up the phone.

In the conference room, there were a dozen senior executives of Fields Group. The misunderstanding about Daryl's plane crash had affected the stock price, so Daryl was holding a meeting to formulate countermeasures.

In the past, Daryl would never answer his phone during a meeting, but this time he broke the rule. The sharp-eared executives seemed to hear a woman's voice on the other end of the call, so they looked at each other in confusion.

Daryl had been the CEO of the Fields Group for a year, and there had never been any scandals. Many women wanted to get close to him, but it seemed like he was immune to women, never getting too close to any of them. The only exception was the heiress of the Tate family, who was jilted on their wedding day, leading to rumors that Daryl's orientation might not be normal.

Facing the questioning gazes, Daryl remained calm and said, "Although the plane crash misunderstanding has affected the company's stock price, I have returned safely, so the stock price will rebound tomorrow. Follow the plan I just outlined and take action. That's all for tonight!"

After speaking, Daryl got up and left the conference room.

As Daryl walked into the elevator, Douglas quickly followed him in.

"Mr. Fields, whose call was that just now? Where are you going?" Douglas asked curiously.

Daryl replied expressionlessly, "You've been tired these past few days. Go home and rest."

"Aren't I going with you?" Douglas asked with a frown.

"No need," Daryl said, then lowered his head in thought.

He didn't know why Cecilia suddenly wanted to see him, and he clenched his hand.

Douglas noticed that Daryl seemed a bit off tonight but didn't dare to ask more questions.

After hanging up the phone, Cecilia looked down at her pajamas and quickly opened her wardrobe, trying to choose an outfit that looked pleasing.

She first took out a dress and held it against herself, feeling it was too formal. Then she picked a knit suit, which felt like work attire. After trying several outfits, she finally chose a simple denim overall dress with a white T-shirt underneath. She tied her hair into a ponytail and sat on the sofa, waiting for Daryl to arrive.

This was the most authentic version of herself. Sitting on the sofa, Cecilia felt a bit nervous, her hands intertwined, thinking about what to say to him first.

Twenty minutes passed quickly. Just as she looked up at the clock on the wall, there was a knock on the door.

After two knocks, Cecilia knew it must be Daryl.

Her heart tightened immediately. She walked to the door, took a deep breath, and then opened it!

Sure enough, there stood Daryl in a black suit, looking at her with intense eyes.

"You're here?" Cecilia stammered.

She had thought about throwing herself into his arms when she saw him.

But now that he was in front of her, she didn't have the courage.

Seeing her hesitation, his tone was urgent. "Did something happen? Is that why you called me so urgently?"

Seeing the concern and tension in his eyes, she felt a warmth in her heart.

Then she smiled slightly and said, "No, I'm just hungry and wanted you to take me out for dinner."

Her words were a bit hesitant, perhaps because she realized her feelings. She didn't know how to interact with him.

Daryl looked at his watch and frowned. "It's so late, and you haven't eaten yet?"

"Yeah."

"Let's go. I'll take you out to eat."

"Okay," Cecilia agreed happily.

Daryl then drove Cecilia to a high-end restaurant.

On the way, both of them remained silent.

Cecilia wanted to talk, but Daryl kept his eyes on the road, driving seriously, showing no intention of chatting with her.

She could only quietly observe him. She had to admit, his side profile was handsome, with a prominent nose and well-defined features.

When they sat down in the restaurant, it was almost ten o'clock.

There were very few customers left, only some people coming in for a late-night snack.

When the waiter brought the menu, Daryl was about to take it.

Unexpectedly, Cecilia grabbed the menu first and quickly ordered five dishes, all of which were her favorites.

Daryl frowned as he watched.

After handing the menu back to the waiter, she looked at him and smiled. "I'm hungry and want to eat everything. I ordered all my favorites. This time, you go easy on me, and next time I'll go easy on you!"

He was even more puzzled by her and stared at her with a strange look.

Seeing his expression, she suddenly found it amusing.
