Chapter 836 I Won't Give In

Andrew's incident hit them hard. Seeing his gray-haired parents, Susan felt a deep sadness.

She couldn't help but think, "If Andrew could see this, maybe he wouldn't have done something so unforgivable."

When Susan looked up, she noticed a hint of sympathy and sorrow in Seb's eyes.

Seb, catching her gaze, quickly turned away, avoiding eye contact.

Seeing him look away, Susan turned her attention back to Andrew's parents.

Gavin pulled some food out of a cloth bag, while Anouk sat in front of Andrew's tombstone, murmuring softly.

"Andrew, I made your favorite food. My health's getting worse, and I don't know if I can visit you again. Take care of yourself over there, and don't make any more mistakes. I hope when I die, I can see you again," Anouk said, tears streaming down her face.

Hearing this, Susan's eyes filled with tears.

She wanted to step forward, but her foot got caught on a pine branch, and she let out a low cry, almost shouting.

At that moment, a strong arm caught her, and she leaned against Seb for balance.

Seb signaled Susan to stay quiet.

Susan glanced at the elderly couple and, seeing they hadn't heard the commotion, sighed in relief.

If they were discovered now, it would surely scare them.

Gavin handed Anouk a handkerchief and gently scolded, "Didn't we agree to be happy when visiting Andrew today? Why are you crying again? You're making Andrew worry about you over there."

"I miss Andrew, I couldn't help it!" Anouk replied.

"Andrew, don't worry. My health is a bit better than your mom's, and I'll take good care of her. You need to behave yourself over there. Don't do anything wrong again. In the near future, your mom and I will come to find you. If we find out you've done something wrong again, we won't forgive you!" Gavin said sternly to the tombstone.

"Yes, if you don't behave, I'll hit you too!" Anouk quickly added.

Hearing their words, Susan couldn't help but smile.

However, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy for their love. This, indeed, was the true essence of growing old together.

Since there were no other trees around, Seb and Susan had to hide behind the pine tree. They had to wait until the elderly couple left before they could leave, or they would scare them.

At that moment, Seb's hand was still gripping her arm, and Susan was still leaning against him.

It was midsummer, and Seb was wearing a white shirt and black trousers, while Susan was in a black short-sleeved long dress.

Wearing only light clothing, their bodies pressed close, causing their breaths to become ragged.

Susan looked up at Seb's handsome face, feeling an uncontrollable urge to throw herself into his arms and kiss him passionately.

Seb felt a dryness in his throat and furrowed his brows.

Even though the pine tree's trunk was thick because it had been growing for decades, they still had to huddle close together to remain hidden.

Seb didn't pull away, and Susan naturally wanted to be close to him.

For a moment, they could hear each other's breathing and smell each other's scent.

Seb's throat moved up and down, showing he was struggling.

Meanwhile, Susan was secretly happy, hoping Andrew's parents would stay a little longer.

After a while, Andrew's parents supported each other and reluctantly left.

When they were far enough away, Seb reached out to push Susan away.

Susan frowned, thinking, "If I don't seize this chance, it will be hard to get this close to him again."

So, Susan stepped forward and wrapped her arms tightly around Seb's neck.

There was almost a 6-inch height difference between them, making it a bit difficult for her to hold him, especially since she wasn't wearing high heels today.

"What are you doing?" Seb frowned as she held his neck tightly.

Susan looked up at Seb with misty eyes, her voice soft and heart-wrenching. "Seb, do you really not remember me at all?"

Hearing this, Seb turned his face away and said coldly, "I've answered this question many times, haven't I?"

"Do you really have no feelings for me at all?" Susan asked, her eyes fixed on him.

"Your question is ridiculous," Seb said coldly.

"I don't believe you have no feelings for me. We were so close just now, and I could clearly sense your desire for me. You can't fool me; I know you too well." Susan was eager to prove something.

Hearing this, Seb became angry and raised his voice. "Susan, were you testing me just now, trying to seduce me to see if I had a desire for you?"

"How can you think of me like that?" Susan stammered, her face turning pale.

The next moment, Seb roughly pulled her arms from around his neck and pushed her away.

Susan stumbled and almost fell, but she managed to grab the trunk of the pine tree in front of her.

"Or what? Do you think I'm like Dean, a man with no boundaries, who would fall for your seduction?" Seb stepped closer to Susan.

Susan stepped back, shaking her head. "I didn't, don't think of me like that."

"How else am I supposed to think of you after what you've done?" Seb glanced at Susan with disdain. "Susan, do you think I can't get any woman I want? With just a wave of my hand, I can have women younger, prettier, and more charming than you. So, save your efforts and stop wasting your time!" With that, Seb turned and left angrily.

"Seb, I just want you to remember me. I'm not that kind of woman, really," Susan said, collapsing to the ground, tears streaming down her face.
