Chapter 1049 A Different Kind of Happiness

When Seb appeared in the CEO's office holding Susan, several employees were stunned.

Seb walked into the CEO's office, beaming with joy, holding Susan in his arms.

As soon as the office door closed, the employees gathered together, whispering and wondering what had happened. Although they knew Seb and Susan were very much in love, this time was a bit "too much."

Susan grabbed Seb's collar with both hands and said with a smile, "Our image at the company is definitely ruined now."

"I want us to be selected as the model couple of the year for the group," Seb said with a smile.

"No way, do I have to go up to receive the award with a big belly at the annual meeting?" Susan frowned.

"That would show our happiness index." Seb laughed.

"Stop it!" Susan rolled her eyes at Seb.

That evening, Seb and Susan took a car home together.

Seb held Susan's hand and kept instructing the driver in front to drive slowly, fearing that driving too fast would startle the baby in Susan's belly.

Sensing Seb's cautiousness, Susan couldn't help but say, "Can you not be so nervous? It's just an embryo in my belly right now."

"Even an embryo needs to grow up healthy from the start," Seb said with a smile.

Hearing this, Susan could only nod helplessly.

Ever since she found out she was pregnant, she had become the focus of protection at home. Seb had canceled all his social engagements to stay home with her, saying that a pregnant woman needed to be happy in both body and mind to give birth to a healthy and cute baby.

It was rush hour, and the traffic was very congested. The car stopped again.

"Why is it blocked again?" Susan complained and then looked out the car window.

Unexpectedly, Susan saw a figure that seemed very familiar.

It was a woman in her thirties, dressed neatly, pushing a stroller with a baby only a few months old lying in it.

Seeing her suddenly, Susan was stunned.

"What's wrong?" Seb asked, frowning at Susan's unusual expression.

"Ellie," Susan replied.

Hearing this, Seb followed Susan's gaze outside.

They saw Ellie pushing the stroller, walking alongside a man.

The man was a bit older than Ellie, around forty, and they were chatting and laughing.

The baby in the stroller suddenly started crying, so Ellie bent down and picked the baby up.

At this moment, Ellie's face was full of patience and love for the baby in her arms. She looked like a gentle and caring mother, completely different from the sharp and capable professional woman she used to be.

Seeing this, Susan couldn't help but frown and said, "Did Ellie give birth to the baby she was pregnant with back then?"

"Yes." Seb nodded.

Sensing Seb's certainty, Susan couldn't help but ask, "How do you know?"

Seb met Susan's puzzled eyes and said, "Ellie is a dangerous person to our lives, so I had to have someone keep an eye on her whereabouts and situation."

Hearing this, Susan lowered her head in thought.

Seb was very thorough. After all, Ellie had tried to sabotage their relationship before. If she had any other extreme thoughts or actions after her failure, it would indeed pose a great risk to their family. Seb's actions were understandable.

"I didn't expect her to actually give birth to that kid. I thought she might have aborted it," Susan said, turning to look out the window again.

At this moment, Ellie was holding the baby with a face full of anxiety and affection. The baby seemed to be crying continuously. The man beside Ellie was also very anxious, but he seemed unable to help much and could only stand by helplessly.

"She gave birth to a baby girl and cherishes her very much. From her pregnancy until now, she has been following the rules and hasn't done anything inappropriate. I think she has let go of everything from the past and is now focused on being a good wife and mother," Seb said, looking at Ellie outside the window.

Hearing this, Susan couldn't help but frown. " Is that man Ellie's husband?"

Susan's eyes were incredulous as she stared at the man standing next to Ellie, who was trying to soothe the baby in Ellie's arms.

The man looked to be around forty, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and a light blue shirt, exuding a refined air. Could it be that Ellie had married this man?

"Yes, that man is Ellie's husband. They've been married for almost a year," Seb replied.

Hearing this, Susan was so shocked she couldn't close her mouth.

Ellie had only been pregnant for about a year, and they had been married for a year? So Ellie married this man shortly after getting pregnant? This was unbelievable. Could it be that Ellie married the man while pregnant?

"That man is the biological father of Ellie's kid," Seb explained with a smile, seeing Susan's astonished look.

Hearing this, Susan's jaw almost dropped.

"Didn't you say Ellie used sperm from a sperm bank back then?" Susan asked in surprise.

Seb sighed and replied, "Back then, after Ellie found out the truth, she locked herself in her room for half a month without coming out. I thought something might happen to her, so I had someone keep an eye on her. Unexpectedly, the first thing she did when she went out was to find the man who had donated the sperm through various means. I don't know what methods she used, but before long, the man actually married her. Now it seems their relationship is quite good!"

Hearing this story, Susan was a bit stunned.

Looking at the family of three outside the car window, filled with simple happiness, Susan truly admired Ellie. If it were her, she wouldn't have been able to make such a choice. But Ellie did it. She and the man seemed well-matched, and more importantly, Ellie could give her kid a complete family and a father's love.
