Chapter 520 Commission

Carol's last line was pretty straightforward, and Rylee's cheeks turned bright red as she snapped, "Mom, why are you saying this?"

Seeing Rylee's embarrassed look, Carol couldn't help but tease, "You've been hitched for years, how are you still getting all flustered?"

As they were chatting, the door swung open, and Andrew strolled in.

"Mom, the realtor called again, bugging us to go check out the house," Andrew said, trying to sound all respectful to Carol.

Hearing this, Carol grabbed Rylee's hand and said, "Let's roll!"

So, Andrew drove Carol and Rylee to scope out some houses.

The realtor showed them a bunch of swanky villas, all prime spots with fancy decor.

Back at the realtor's office, the realtor went to grab some water, and Carol turned to Andrew and Rylee, "I dig the biggest one, the one over 4,000 square feet. What do you guys think?"

Andrew and Rylee shared a grin, and Andrew said, "We'll let you call the shots."

"Alrighty then." Carol nodded, looking pleased.

"I gotta hit the restroom," Andrew said, then took off, leaving Carol and Rylee to chat.

Andrew headed to the break room, where he spotted the realtor making coffee. He quickly shut the break room door.

"Mr. Martin, have you made up your mind?" The realtor greeted Andrew warmly; after all, this was a big fish, eyeing a $3 million villa.

Andrew glanced at the door, then whispered to the realtor, "You wanna close this deal or what?"

"Of course I do. Honestly, I work on commission," the realtor nodded.

Andrew smirked and said, "That big villa, over 4,000 square feet, priced at over $3 million, what's your cut?"

The realtor smiled awkwardly. "Mr. Martin, to be real, this villa's pricey and tough to sell. It's been on the market for almost two years, so the commission's pretty high, five percent."

Andrew's eyes lit up. "So, over a hundred grand, right? But if the deal falls through, you get zilch."

"Mr. Martin, just spill it. We can work something out," the realtor, a seasoned pro, caught on quick.

Andrew paused, then said, "How about you give me half your commission, and I'll make sure this deal goes through."

The realtor's eyes widened. "Half? That's steep!"

"Steep? I'm handing you your commission on a silver platter, and you're balking? Fine, I'll tell my mother-in-law we're looking elsewhere. Plenty of realtors in Maple Valley, and with cash, we can buy a house anywhere!" Andrew pretended to walk away.

The realtor, not wanting to lose the deal, quickly grabbed Andrew and smiled, "Mr. Martin, no need to rush. We're negotiating, right? Okay, half it is. But you gotta make sure Mrs. Anderson drops the deposit and signs the contract today, and the full payment within a week."

Andrew grinned and said, "We can pay you tomorrow. But when do I get my cut?"

"If Mrs. Anderson pays the deposit today, I can wire the money to your account tonight," the realtor replied after a moment's thought.

"Deal!" Andrew said, sealing the agreement.

Then, Andrew and the realtor headed back to the office, one after the other.

The realtor set down three cups of coffee in front of Andrew, Carol, and Rylee, and grinned. "So, what did you think of the villas? They're all prime spots with killer layouts and decor, but yeah, the price tag's pretty hefty, so they're tough to sell."

"We'll take the biggest one," Carol said, giving Andrew and Rylee a quick look.

"Mrs. Anderson, you've got great taste. When do you want to sign the contract?" The realtor jumped on the chance.

Carol frowned and checked her watch. "We need to grab some food soon."

Andrew quickly chimed in, "Mom, since we've made up our minds, why not sign the contract today? It'll save us another trip."

Carol nodded. "You're right, let's get it done."

"Hang tight, I'll grab the contract," the realtor said, beaming as he turned to give Andrew a knowing smile.

While the realtor was fetching the contract, Rylee turned to Andrew, "Andrew, are we really buying that house so fast?"

Andrew replied quickly, "With Mom handling everything, there won't be any issues. We need to settle down fast so I can focus on work, and you can start prepping for a baby. Plus, Mom won't have to crash at a hotel anymore."

Seeing how thoughtful Andrew was, Carol beamed, "Andrew, you're so considerate. With you looking after Rylee, I'm at ease."

"Mom, I'll always take good care of Rylee," Andrew promised.

Soon, the realtor came back with the contract. Carol had Andrew and Rylee sign it, putting the house in their names. Andrew, hearing this, felt even more respectful towards Carol.

Finally, the realtor said, "Mrs. Anderson, please pay the deposit today, and it would be best if the full payment could be made within three days so we can process the transfer."

"No problem." Carol handed a bank card to the realtor.

At that moment, Andrew and the realtor exchanged a glance, and Andrew said to Carol, "Mom, why not transfer the full payment tomorrow? Let's get the transfer done quickly. Seb's coming back from Averlake in a few days, and I want to start working soon."

Carol nodded quickly. "Yeah, work comes first. You're right. No need to wait until tomorrow; I'll transfer the rest as soon as we get home. You and Rylee can handle the transfer tomorrow, and we can move in soon!"

"We'll do as you say, Mom," Andrew smiled.

That evening, Andrew met the realtor at a café.

The realtor placed a fat briefcase at Andrew's feet.

"I just pulled it from the bank. Wanna count it?" The realtor asked.

"No need, I trust there won't be any issues, especially since my mother-in-law hasn't transferred the rest to you yet," Andrew smiled.

"You're one lucky guy, not only marrying a beautiful wife but also having a loaded family," the realtor joked.

"With hard work, you can get there too," Andrew patted the realtor's shoulder, then grabbed the briefcase and left the café.
