Chapter 1194 Let's Be Together
Cecilia and Barry had a pleasant meal, and Barry parked the car downstairs at Cecilia's apartment building.
Barry glanced up at the building and smiled, "We're here."
"Bye-bye!" Cecilia waved at Barry.
Just as Cecilia was about to get out of the car, Barry suddenly asked, "Did you get the coffee?"
Cecilia was taken aback by the question and touched her purse.
Seeing her uneasy expression, Barry quickly said, "I was just joking with you. It's late, go upstairs and rest!"
Gazing at Barry's sincere yet awkward expression, Cecilia mustered up the courage and said, "I already got the coffee."
With that, she unzipped her purse, took out a box of instant coffee, and smiled, "It's just instant coffee. I don't know if you'll like it."
Seeing the coffee in Cecilia's hand, Barry was overjoyed. "I only brew coffee beans when I have free time. Usually, I drink instant coffee too."
He took the box of coffee from Cecilia, looked at it, and smiled, "This brand is pretty good."
"How about coming up for a cup?" Cecilia smiled at Barry.
"Sure, I won't stay long and keep you from resting," Barry added cautiously.
Then, Cecilia and Barry got out of the car and went upstairs.
Cecilia understood the possible consequences of inviting Barry upstairs tonight. She was still hesitating when she unzipped her purse earlier.
It was the unexpected encounter with Daryl today that made her decide. Barry was indeed a great partner, and after so much time wasted, she didn't want to miss out anymore.
Recently, her heart had been in turmoil. She wanted to find peace as soon as possible, and maybe starting a new relationship was a good choice. After all, she couldn't be alone forever, and she was determined to cut ties with Daryl and avoid crossing paths with him again.
Cecilia entered the apartment first, put down her purse, and said to Barry, "Have a seat. I'll make the coffee."
"Okay." Barry glanced around the small apartment and then sat on the sofa.
Cecilia boiled some water, found two coffee cups, opened the box of coffee, and threw the box into the trash can.
She glanced out the window unintentionally and was surprised to see a black luxury car parked downstairs. That car was all too familiar to her. She couldn't believe it and looked again. Yes, it was Daryl's car!
Seeing Daryl's car, Cecilia was furious. He was stalking her again. She thought he had given up.
She closed the window, opened a packet of coffee, and poured it into the coffee cup.
Shw couldn't understand why Daryl was still haunting her after she had made things very clear.
It felt like a heavy stone was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.
Cecilia was distracted, and the water overflowed from the coffee cup!
"Ah." Cecilia let out a low cry as the hot water dripped onto her hand in front of the cup.
Hearing Cecilia's cry, Barry quickly stood up from the sofa and took two big steps to the kitchen.
"What happened?" Seeing Cecilia holding her hand, Barry grabbed her wrist with concern and looked at her scalded hand.
"I accidentally burned myself," Cecilia replied, frowning.
Barry frowned and then pulled her hand to the faucet, turned on the water, and rinsed her hand with cold water.
When Cecilia looked up, she saw Barry's gaze focused entirely on her scalded hand, filled with worry and pain.
She felt very touched.
Over the past two years, Barry had always been by her side during her most difficult times. When she was wronged, he believed her without hesitation. Cecilia was truly grateful to Barry.
"All done." Barry turned off the faucet, looked at Cecilia's hand, which was no longer as red, and then looked up.
"Thank you," Cecilia said, pulling her hand back.
After all, having her wrist held by his big hand made her feel awkward.
"I'm sorry, Cecilia, I..." Seeing Cecilia nervously pull her hand back, Barry scratched his head.
He felt he had overstepped.
Seeing Barry's guilty expression, Cecilia quickly said, "You don't need to apologize. You did nothing wrong."
The last sentence was said in a very soft voice.
Barry's gaze suddenly became earnest.
Cecilia felt a burning sensation from his eyes and quickly lowered her head.
After gazing at Cecilia for a while, Barry cautiously said, "Cecilia, why don't we give it a try?"
Suddenly hearing this, Cecilia looked up and met Barry's cautious eyes.
She felt her heart racing.
Meeting her eyes, Barry quickly changed his tone. "I'm sorry, just pretend I didn't say anything. I promised you I would be your best friend."
Seeing Barry's anxious expression, Cecilia smiled.
Barry was puzzled. He gazed at Cecilia and asked, "Cecilia, you're not mad, are you?"
Cecilia glanced at Barry and then towards the window.
She wondered if Daryl had left. He should know Barry was here with her, so he should give up this time, right?
"Cecilia?" Seeing her distracted, Barry frowned and asked.
"Huh?" Cecilia snapped back to reality and then said, "Actually, your suggestion isn't bad."
Barry stared at Cecilia with wide eyes, not understanding what she meant. "Cecilia, what do you mean? What suggestion?"
Cecilia blushed and lowered her head, "Didn't you say we should give it a shot?"
Barry was stunned for a moment, then joyfully stepped forward, grabbed Cecilia's shoulders, and asked, "Really? Cecilia, are you saying you're willing to be with me?"
Seeing Barry's joyful expression, Cecilia shyly nodded.
Barry stepped forward and hugged her, spinning around a few times in excitement.
