Chapter 1015 Matchmaking
"Don't think like that. I bet you and Leon just had a misunderstanding," Susan said, trying to cheer up Isabella, who looked pretty down.
Isabella glanced at Susan and gave a bitter smile. "I wish it was just a misunderstanding. But how could it be a coincidence? We saw Bronte buying shirts and ties at the boutique, and on Valentine's Eve, Leon was wearing those exact things? He keeps saying Bronte set him up to confuse me, but claiming he has nothing to do with her? I can't buy that!"
"Did you actually see Leon and Bronte together?" Susan asked, frowning.
Isabella was caught off guard by the question.
Susan went on, "You didn't see anything; you're just guessing. You should hear Leon out and at least give him a chance to explain himself, right?"
Isabella was momentarily speechless.
Sure, she hadn't seen Leon and Bronte together, but Leon's explanation just didn't sit right with her.
Seeing Isabella's troubled look, Susan suggested, "How about I hire a private investigator to follow Leon and see if there's anything going on with him and Bronte?"
Isabella shook her head. "Forget it. If I really wanted to know about him and Bronte, I wouldn't have waited until now."
"So, what's your plan? You can't just let this drag on," Susan pressed.
Isabella gave a bitter smile. "What else can I do? Milo is so young; he needs his dad. Even if Leon and Bronte are just flirting, he's already broken our trust, and things have changed. Even if I get proof of them together, so what? I don't want a divorce just to split his assets. Let's wait until Milo is older. I don't want to think about this now."
"True." Susan nodded.
Just then, Susan's phone rang.
She pulled out her phone and saw it was Seb calling, so she answered right away. "Hey! Isabella and I are out shopping with Milo. What? You brought Hayden and Spring out? Awesome, see you soon!"
After a few words, Susan hung up, looking happy.
"If you have something to do, go ahead," Isabella said, feeling a bit envious.
Seb was the perfect guy now, spending all his free time with Susan, Hayden, and Spring.
Susan smiled. "Seb said he's taking Hayden and Spring out for a big meal. He knows I'm with you and insisted I bring you along!"
"I'll pass. Milo will be sleepy soon." Isabella declined.
It was a warm family gathering, and even though Isabella would be bored at home, she didn't want to intrude on Susan's family time.
"We have a stroller; Milo can sleep in it. Come on, how long has it been since we had a meal together?" Susan said, pulling Isabella along.
Isabella had no choice but to push the stroller and go along with Susan.
Seb had snagged a table at a nice restaurant. Isabella pushed the stroller while Susan carried their shopping bags as they walked in.
The place was pretty fancy, so it wasn't too crowded. Susan scanned the room and spotted Seb in a cozy spot by the window.
"Mommy!"
"Mom!" Hayden and Spring shouted excitedly when they saw Susan.
Seb saw Susan and Isabella and waved them over.
Isabella, pushing the stroller, looked up and saw someone sitting next to Seb.
Seeing Leon, Isabella was stunned.
Leon looked just as surprised to see Isabella.
She turned to Susan and asked, "Susan, did you and Seb set this up?"
Susan looked innocent. "I swear, I had no idea. Seb didn't mention Leon would be here. Maybe it's just a coincidence?"
Susan wasn't too sure of her own words, because Seb knew about the issues between Leon and Isabella. Maybe Seb invited Leon to help patch things up? But she was still puzzled, because Seb usually didn't meddle in such matters.
"Quite a coincidence," Isabella said, turning to leave.
Susan quickly blocked her way. "Where are you going?"
"Home!" Isabella's tone was firm.
"You're already here; why leave?" Susan tried to persuade her.
Leon had already stood up, looking their way.
Seeing Isabella about to leave, Leon frowned deeply.
"Did you know she was coming?" Leon asked Seb.
Seb smirked. "Just a coincidence."
"She doesn't seem too thrilled to be here," Leon said, glancing at Isabella and Susan.
"Hold on a sec!" Seb gestured for Leon to wait and quickly walked over to Susan and Isabella.
Susan was trying to convince Isabella to stay, but Isabella wasn't having it. Susan was at a loss.
Seb smiled at Isabella. "I've already ordered. Why not join us?"
Susan looked at Isabella, unsure of what to say.
Seb smiled again. "Isabella, Hayden and Spring have been saying they miss you and Milo."
Isabella was about to refuse.
But Seb looked at Milo in the stroller and said, "I see Milo's put on some weight!"
Then he bent down and picked Milo up from the stroller.
Isabella didn't expect Seb to pick up Milo, but before she could say anything, he was already walking towards the table, playing with him. "Milo, let's go have a big meal, okay?"
"Seb, give Milo back to me!" Isabella quickly followed.
But after a few steps, she realized Seb was forcing her to go over.
Susan, behind Isabella, chuckled and pushed the stroller. She thought, 'Seb really knows how to handle this. I couldn't persuade her, but he managed to keep her here with one move.'
Susan then said to Isabella, "Hayden and Spring miss you and Milo. Look how happy Milo is today; he loves being around people!"
Isabella looked up and saw Milo laughing non-stop in Seb's arms.
